Why Sherlock Remembers George Clooney
  • *Sherlock is lying on Molly's sofa, while she's in her kitchen making tea. He emerges from his mind palace just as Molly's phone, which is on the coffee table, rings. Sitting up, he glances at it and sees her phone wallpaper. She arrives with the tea and ignores the call.*
  • Sherlock: *casually* Caroline's setting you up again?
  • Molly: *unsurprised* Yeah. I'm still traumatised from my last date with one of her so-called friends. *shudders*
  • Sherlock: *sips from his mug* I thought you were into that Hiddleston actor and that Cumberbatch actor?
  • Molly: *stunned for a second* Yeah. *turns to him* You remember that?
  • Sherlock: *ignores her question* So who's the new man on your phone wallpaper? I never pegged you as someone that's into much older men. And who's the woman?
  • Molly: *giggles* Oh, that's George Clooney. I've had a crush on him since 'ER'. *sees his blank expression* That was an American medical drama series. Anyway, he's also a director, screenwriter, activist, and humanitarian. And the woman he's with is Amal Alamuddin––well, Clooney now, since they just got married. She's a barrister that specialises in international law and human rights.
  • Sherlock: *mumbles* My brother might know her.
  • Molly: *excitedly* Really?! Do you think Mycroft could let me meet them?
  • Sherlock: *annoyed* For God's sake, Molly. You're not a teenager anymore.
  • Molly: What? *pouting* I just want to meet them and tell him how much I loved him in 'ER'. I'm not going to steal him from her.
  • Sherlock: *rolls his eyes* Let me guess... he's one of the reasons you decided to become a doctor?
  • Molly: *laughs* Well, not really. You know I've always wanted to be a doctor. But, for a time, I wanted to be a paediatrician because of George Clooney's character.
  • Sherlock: *gives her a small smile* Barts should be immensely grateful that you changed your mind.
  • Molly: They are. And their gratitude comes in the form of promotions and pay raises, which is really nice.
  • Sherlock: *clears his throat* Mycroft is also thankful. Probably.
  • Molly: So are your parents. Your mum knitted me a scarf for the first Christmas you were away dismantling Moriarty's network. And she's always inviting me to spend a weekend at their cottage.
  • Sherlock: *raises an eyebrow* Really? What about Mycroft? How has my brother expressed his gratitude for everything you've done for me and my family?
  • Molly: *shrugs*
  • Sherlock: *gasps in shock* What?! Not even a half-hearted 'thank you'?
  • Molly: Well...
  • Sherlock: *sits back, furious on her behalf* I don't even know why I'm surprised. But I can't believe that that pompous arse didn't even bother to thank you!
  • Molly: *rolls her eyes* Says the man who never thanked me until I told him to and who brought me out to solve cases with him when his best friend was mad at him.
  • Sherlock: You said you had a lovely day!
  • Molly: I did!
  • Sherlock: And our crime-solving day WAS always my way of saying thank you. John being angry with me was just a coincidence. *crosses his arms* At least I did something to thank you properly.
  • Molly: *smiles* And I appreciate it, Sherlock.
  • Sherlock: *uncrosses his arms* *stands up and takes his phone out of his pocket* I'm going to yell at him until he—
  • Molly: *sighs* He gave me updates while you were away!
  • Sherlock: *sits back down* But he never—
  • Molly: You weren't supposed to know. Anyway, he offered me anything in exchange for my help. But I only asked for updates. It wasn't even a regular thing. Just... when he noticed I'd been worrying too much about you or when something significant happened.
  • Sherlock: *puts his phone back in his pocket* Like when I got injured.
  • Molly: Well, yeah. He didn't tell me about Serbia or that you were coming back though.
  • Sherlock: Oh. *after a brief silence* Well, he was probably busy with my return.
  • Molly: I get that. Plus our reunion in the locker room wouldn't have been as... pleasant as it was if I'd known you were coming back.
  • Sherlock: *chuckles* Yeah, the look on your face screamed 'pleasant'.
  • Molly: *blushes* Shut up! *rolls her eyes and smirks at him*
  • Sherlock: *smirks back*

It was 8:00 at night and Nani’s shift at the shack was finally over. Normally she would be frantic to get home to Lilo, she hated leaving her alone or with a neighbor but she had no other choice. Thankfully her boyfriend of sometime now, David, had agreed to watch over her. That was a weight lifted off of Nani’s back, or so she thought. She trusted him and he got along with Lilo well so she didn’t see any issues.

this is also in response to @bonnie-bennet-salvatore

57: There is enough room for both of us

“I’ll sleep on couch,” Illya hesitated, looking at the little rod iron bed doubtfully.

“Nonsense,” Gaby challenged. “It probably has bed bugs and it’s about two feet too short anyway.” She wiggled closer to the wall, patting the mattress behind her. “See, there is enough room for both of us.”

There was hardly enough room for a small dog or a cat but Illya relented with a tired sigh. The threadbare couch in the other room probably was vermin ridden and he didn’t want splinters in his side from the distressed floorboards.

He removed his shoes and lowered himself onto the bed, the springs groaning in protest. He awkwardly maneuvered his body so he wasn’t touching Gaby more than necessary.

Gaby shifted and grumbled in discomfort, elbowing him.

“Sorry,” he apologised, suddenly remembering the portable transceiver in his pocket. Gaby watched over her shoulder as he placed it on the nightstand.

They settled in eventually, leaning into each other as sleep finally took hold. At the brink of drifting off Illya felt Gaby shift again, rubbing against him.

“Illya?”

“Hm?” he responded, half-asleep, melting into her warmth, her scent in his nose.

“Do you have another transceiver in your pocket?”

I'm seriously addicted to good quality coffee made in my French press. My favorite flowers are carnations, wild white azaleas and orange roses. My daughter's middle name is Fae, and she was named very well given the fae watch over her now, occasionally leaving her gifts of cedar or foreign coins.

Ah these are all perfect, you sound lovely!

“It’s nice getting older. A lot of people have been saying to me, ‘You are so much more confident and comfortable.’ There was a lot of energy being thrust at me then. I’m not someone who was solely desirous of becoming rich and famous. I can sit here and talk about my movies all day long. It’s what I’m most interested in — as selfish as that sounds. There was just something about the way everything was being ingested by people back then. There were aspects of it I wasn’t even aware of. Now I’ve learned to take it and have it be my own thing.”

Sparta on the day she came home, July 24th 2014. I hope I never forget that day. Bonding and learning took time, but she made it so easy right from the start. I had never owned or even lived with a dog before, but I knew right then we’d make it work.

honestly I think my favorite thing about Jasper is that she’s such a fucking drama hoe

So far she has:

-gotten a cape specially made for the sole purpose of wanting to look dramatic and fabulous in front of her enemies.

- put on eyeliner for a fight.

-literally paused what she was doing just so “Rose” could take a menacing picture of her, before disappearing into the unknown.

- made an exit walking backwards into the ocean, and paused to say a one liner before sinking down completely when it was so totally unnecessary of her to do so.

If/ when Jasper gets redeemed all I’m saying is peridot is gonna have good run for her money in terms of the biggest dork in the group

anonymous asked:

I like Mary. I think she's awesome. I don't see why she has to be evil.

Oh, boy, okay.

Listen you can like Mary all you want – I loved her too before the fucked up her entire story arc – but her entire arc was building up to be a villain, and a badass one that was going to go down with a fight.

I’m REALLY not trying to be pedantic here, Nonny, but asks like this force me to pull out receipts, all of which I’m sure you’re not going to read, because who likes to be proved wrong, but I digress. I always end up sounding more harsh than I am when all I want to do is educate you on my perspective and what the narrative is teaching us.

THAT’S Why she’s a villain. When a character kills the title character of a show, they are coded as the bad guy unless they do a redemption arc that actually is a redemption.

Mary had NO redemption arc AT ALL. Even in S4, Mary is STILL manipulating and emotionally abusing Sherlock and John against each other with her fucking creepy-assed DVDs and her belittling of John in T6T. She still runs off to go do her little assassin things and still lied and manipulated everyone. And I know the argument is going to come up, but Mary’s gunshot was NOT a redemption. A redemption arc has the ex-villain doing a good deed and being genuinely sorry for their past actions. Not ONCE Mary has ever apologized for any of the shit she put everyone through. All of it was a plan, especially if she had creepy DVDs made FAIRLY RECENTLY (you can tell because of the hair style) to send out to people. Also:

YOU ARE EVIL IF YOU ACTIVELY OR POSTHUMOUSLY TELL SOMEONE TO GO KILL THEMSELVES.

That and Mary’s entire death scene was RIDICULOUS and completely contradicted EVERY rule that was established in this universe only 2 episodes prior on how characters die.

Nonny, Mary’s character arc is one I have been passionate about for many years, even before I was a Johnlocker, because her character was fascinating to me, and helped me understand the psychology and make sense of events that were happening in my life at the time. Right up until TAB, Mary was being coded as the next Moriarty. For some reason or another, Mofftiss decided to turn her into an “assassin with an heart of gold” and failed spectacularly.

If Mary truly was good, she WOULD HAVE TOLD JOHN FROM THE BEGINNING WHO SHE WAS, OR AT LEAST TOLD SHERLOCK SHE NEEDED HELP. HLV would have not played out as it did. Instead deciding that killing Sherlock was her only option so that she could continue to manipulate John, since she knew he was most malleable when he was grieving Sherlock.

You can read Mary’s character however you want, I could care less… well okay apparently I do because of this reply… But please, seriously consider that what became of her character really made no goddamned sense to the narrative arc the built for her and quite frankly really lazy writing. Just because she is a woman, doesn’t mean that she is nice and sweet and not abusive. Excusing her of her brand of emotional abuse and manipulation is really sexist.

People thought my mother was a nice person, too.
