waste all the money

btw even drug addicts deserve welfare lmao most your tax dollars go to supporting warfare overseas and nuclear costs. welfare hardly puts a dent into all the other shit this country wastes its money on. help addicts live long enough to get clean & support programs to help them

humanize drug addicts. theyre people just like you. you are no better than them.

Things I Wish I Knew Early On

I’m entering my junior year of college and have been creating a list of things I wish I knew earlier than now, like back in middle school or high school. Learn from me with these things, and feel free to add-on whatever you think fits!

  1. Buy Victoria’s Secret underwear and bras. The quality is way better than anything else and definitely worth the money.
  2. Go to the movies by yourself. It may seem weird at first but it really isn’t. Plus you don’t talk anyway. Treat yo self.
  3. Begin saving money early on. Save it all up. Travel with the savings.
  4. Don’t waste all your money on cheap clothes. Don’t solely shop at stores like H&M and Forever 21. Get the latest trends from there and that’s it.
  5. Spend more money for higher quality clothes. Especially for jeans. But don’t buy $200 jeans. $50-$100 is plenty.
  6. Work hard. Get a job. Even if it’s crappy. The experience (and money) is important.
  7. Study hard. Even if it sucks. I regret not trying harder in high school and am pushing myself more now in college (thus this studyblr). Learn all the things.
  8. Simple basic items for clothes look cleaner and are easier. Don’t wear tons of patterns.
  9. Buy yourself a flannel. A good, soft one too. Flannels are amazing.
  10. If someone doesn’t make you feel good about yourself, don’t spend time with them. It’s not worth it.
  11. Don’t keep tons of knick knacks. You don’t need them.
  12. Keep a decorative box and put small memories in them each time you do things. Ticket stubs, wrist bands, fliers. Then when it’s full, go through it and enjoy all the memories. Then, throw them out after and start over.
  13. You don’t owe anyone anything. No explanations. No apologies. (Except maybe your family). When you choose to give them those things, it will mean more because you will actually mean it and want to mend your relationship.
  14. Watch the sunset. It’s fucking beautiful.
  15. If you are not comfortable, don’t do it. Leave the situation.
  16. Learn the balance between school, work, social, and personal lives. Put equal time into all four. Even your personal life.
  17. You are your own best friend and will have your own back, so spend time with yourself. Treat yourself (but not too often) and enjoy your own company.
  18. Talk to yourself. It is good to be able to have a conversation with yourself and think things through fully.
  19. Sometimes you have to be impulsive. It takes just three seconds of spontaneity to get yourself out of your comfort zone. Sometimes this means making new friends or overcoming a fear.
  20. Life will tear you down sometimes. It is okay to cry. But just remember, when you hit rock-bottom, there’s only up from there.

Friendly reminder that Artemis Fowl literally donated a hugeass amount of his money to his already richass all-boys school–anonymously–with the deal that his whole year will go on a field trip all the way to friggin Germany just so he can sneak away from the whole group to rob the most secured bank in the world undetected by his parents.

Artemis’ passion for crime knows no boundaries.

some tips for incoming college freshmen, based on the mistakes i made during my first year

✎ don’t get in the habit of skipping class for no reason. really. it might seem harmless (especially if attendance isn’t required) but it will most likely end up affecting you negatively. just go to class.

✎ try to be as organized as possible. organization can’t harm you and there are so many potential benefits to keeping your school and personal life in order.

✎ don’t be afraid to enjoy yourself. honestly, what’s the point if school is only ever miserable. there are so many ways to enjoy your experience at college, so take a break from your studies every once in a while. otherwise, you might find yourself hating school.

✎ that being said, don’t spend too much time socializing and partying. or, at least, don’t choose it over your school work altogether. you don’t want the social aspect of college to overpower the academic aspect. after all, you are most likely paying a lot of money to study there, and ignoring your studies will only harm you. find a balance.

✎ even if your classes don’t start until 2 in the afternoon, wake up at a reasonable time. it might be difficult if you’re used to sleeping in very late, but the morning is the perfect time to get some things done, and sleeping in until 10 minutes before your class does waste a lot of time. plus, you’ll probably do better in class if you didn’t just wake up.

✎ naps are good though! as long as you don’t nap during the whole day, napping is very beneficial.

✎ don’t get too involved in drama with other people. if your friend group becomes draining and exhausting because of drama, recognize that it might be better for you to take a step back.

✎ don’t get caught up in the idea of having the perfect “college experience.” do what you want to do, not what everyone else does or what you believe you’re supposed to do. there are different types of college experiences, and you don’t have to, for example, join a sorority/fraternity, go to parties, get drunk/high, etc. just because you think you’re supposed to as a college student.

✎ try to participate in class. i failed at this miserably because of my fear of talking to people lol, but it is best to be more involved in class discussions if you can. this is especially important when participation is part of your grade.

✎ if you have a roommate, don’t expect to be best friends with them. you can, but it’s not always best. in my experience, it tends to work best if you’re friendly with them, but you also have different groups of people you hang out with. this is based on preference though.

✎ get off of campus sometimes! depending on where you live, there may be a bunch of things you can do in your town with friends. you don’t want to always feel stuck at your school. that being said, there are probably a lot of things to do on campus too.

✎ if you have a source of income, try to be reasonable with your spending. you should definitely save some money for emergencies. and the money you do spend should be spent reasonably. this isn’t to say you should never spend money on things that you enjoy, but you definitely should have some sort of budget, or you might find yourself wasting all of your money on 2am trips to denny’s (if you’re me, that is).

✎ sometimes you may need to be alone. don’t feel bad telling your friends ‘no’ every once in a while. you may find it easiest to work alone, or you might just wanna relax without the pressure of being with other people. that’s okay! find a place on campus where you can be away from everyone sometimes.

edit: i have made a part two of this post which you can find here

The Pilgrim (Part 1)

This is the first half of a Zimbits soulmate AU, where you can feel the pull of your soulmate like a compass. This is a first draft, so no corrections have been made so far. I just wanted to throw it out there. There will be a second and final part to this- and I’ll do my best to write it soon.

Dear Mama and Coach,

I’m sorry to leave with only a note, but this is something I have to do. I left for my pilgrimage. I know I’m way too young, but I couldn’t wait. … I think my soulmate is dying. I felt the pull stop for a full minute. It never happened before. I can’t wait another four years before seeking them! I hope you understand.

Also, I didn’t tell y’all because… I think my soulmate may be a man.

I hope you’re not too mad at me. I’ll call.

I love you both,

– Dicky

North. The pull had always pointed North. Sometimes, when Eric changed cities, he tried to triangulate the feel, but there was never enough difference in what he felt to pinpoint a precise location on a map. His soulmate could be in any of the states above Georgia, or- well, they could live further North. He wondered what would be worse for his parents, that his soulmate was a man, or that he was a Yankee.

He’d stressed about it for years but, now that he was stuck on a bus for who knew how long, he couldn’t stop worrying. He fidgeted with the cheap pilgrimage kit he’d bought at Atlanta. A map of the United States, a plastic ruler, a tiny pencil and a miserable looking compass that didn’t seem to point in the same direction if he shook it a bit. It was all he could afford, since the bus ticket from Madison to Atlanta, then Atlanta to… wherever, took most of his “borrowed” money.

That was another thing. His parents would be so mad when they noticed he took from his savings account. That money was supposed to go to his skating class- or more recently, his hockey equipment.

Maybe he could have asked. Maybe they’d understood, and offered more, and Coach would have lent him his own brass compass, the one inherited from his own father, the one he used to follow the pull until he found his own soulmate. Maybe his mother would have kissed him on the forehead and maybe she’d have offered to ride with him wherever the pull led him- North, North, always North…

But maybe not.

It wasn’t something Eric wanted to risk. The steadiness of the pull had stopped, for just a minute, maybe more, but that was enough to change Eric’s own life. He had someone, somewhere, whose soul was compatible with his- who was maybe a lover, a friend- and that someone’s life had blinked.

He held back his nervous tears, fidgeted with the compass once more.

On Applying to 20+ Colleges

I completed 24 college applications, submitted 17 (to Princeton, Cornell, Vanderbilt, Rice, Amherst, Georgetown, Emory, UCLA, UC Berkeley, University of Michigan, UNC-Chapel Hill, UVA, University of Pittsburgh, Williams, Washington University in St. Louis, Harvard and Yale) and received admission to all except the last four.

N.B. Some of this info may be dated/inaccurate and 100% of it is tinged w/ my own bias.

Things To Think About

Why do you want to apply to so many colleges?

  • If it’s hubris (i.e. “I want to collect admissions offers like trophies”) or fear (i.e. “If I submit more applications, I’m less likely to be shut out from every school I apply to"), stop and reevaluate. I applied to Vanderbilt even though I knew I’d never want to head south. The reason? It traditionally takes a lot of kids from my HS. Yeah, don’t be like me.

Do you really want to spend all that money?

  • I ended up wasting $2500 (and that’s a conservative estimate) on 17 schools. I’ll only be attending one college in the fall.

That said…it can be done.

General Tips

  • The “Why Us” essay isn’t asking “why would you choose our college?” so much as “why should our college choose you?” Emphasize how you’ll contribute to the college—inside the classroom and out—by referencing specific programs, classes, and extracurriculars.
  • Creating a template is a major time-saver. Once you have an effective “skeleton,” all you have to do is insert school-specific details.
  •  Stay organized.
    • Create a spreadsheet. These were my columns: College Name, Application Type, Application & Aid Deadline, Standardized Test Report, Transcript & SS Form, Recommendation Letter Deadline, Creative Writing Supplement (Y/N), Interview (Y/N), Merit Scholarship (Y/N), CSS Profile, FAFSA, Sticker Price, Response Date.
    • If you use Google Drive, create a folder for each college.
  • Consider making a CV/resume. Keep it short (~1 page). Possible uses: upload as a part of your application; hand it to alumni interviewer.

Miscellaneous

  • Don’t apply to Georgetown unless you really really like it. There’s a separate application (not Common App) that’s cumbersome to fill out, and you can’t access it until you pay the application fee (which also happens to be p expensive)
  • Optional essays are NEVER optional. Hopefully, this is obvious.
  • The more selective publics (UC Berkeley, UCLA, UVA, UNC, UMich) are more holistic than you think. They reject high stats kids on the reg (anecdote: a dude from my school who got into Caltech didn’t get into Berkeley; another who got into Cornell didn’t get into UMich) so PAY ATTENTION to the essays.
  • Alumni interviews don’t matter AT ALL unless you make a terrible impression—or possibly if you’re a borderline applicant.

N.B. Applying to colleges based on the perceived difficulty of the application isn’t the greatest idea. That said, for your reference:

Easy College Applications

Vanderbilt University

  • Very easy. Only a 100-word extracurricular essay, I believe. Unless you want to fill out a scholarship application.

Washington University in St. Louis

  • Also very easy. No supplement unless you fill out scholarship app.

Amherst College

  • Zero work if you have a graded school essay you’re proud of (can upload in lieu of a college supplement)

Harvard University

  • I think there’s just one supplement and you can write about whatever you want.

Cornell University

  • Just one “Why Us” essay

University of Pennsylvania

  • One “Why Us” Essay, unless you’re applying to Engineering or a special program like Wharton, M&T, etc.

Moderate College Applications

Duke University

  • Three supplements, I think. All fairly straightforward. There’s a diversity essay that’s optional (refer to the Miscellaneous section)

Princeton University

  • A lot of short, lighthearted questions (favorite keepsake, favorite movie, etc.) and an essay (they give you three prompts to choose between)

Stanford University

  • Three fairly straightforward, 150-word essays. There’s a letter to your roommate, an intellectual interest essay, and something else.

Emory University

  • Easy, short supplements, but there are three of them.

All the UCs

  • There’s one UC application for all the UC schools (Berkeley, LA, Irvine, etc.) so same essays and everything, but you have to pay an application fee for each school you apply to. There are a lot of questions (called Personal Insight Questions) so it’s not quick, but once you’re done you’ve covered multiple schools. Also, if you are applying, ask your counselor about the UC GPA.

UMich

  • Three short essays, one of which is “Why Major.” Another is an extracurricular essay. Don’t remember the third.

UNC

  • I don’t really remember the supplements, but they weren’t that bad.

Difficult/Thought-Provoking College Applications

Yale University

  • This is hard because there are a ton of questions with 35, 100, and 150- word limits. “Why Yale” essay. Hard to come up with insightful answers/make an impression with so little space.

UChicago

  • I personally wasn’t a fan of the cutesy/philosophical prompts, and the essays that I wrote (but ultimately never submitted) reflected my utter lack of interest. If you enjoy them, UChicago may just be the school for you :P

Dartmouth College

  • Only three short i.e. 150 word essays, but one of them referenced Sesame Street. Something along the lines of ‘It’s not easy being green. Discuss.” There was another one on describing a time when you said YES to something. Anyway, I disliked them and never completed my application.

UVA

  • I think there are three short essays, but they require a decent amount of thought. Although UVA is a public school, craft your essays well. The admission officers care a lot about them.

Williams College

  • There’s only one short supplement, but it’s a real pain. Hard not to veer into cliche territory.

Tedious College Applications

Columbia University

  • So many (five?) supplements. Some are generic though. “Why Columbia,” a list of books you’ve read/media you’ve consumed.

Rice University

  • Also a lot of supplements. “Why Rice,” “Why Major,” Diversity essay, the famous box (where you can upload any image you want).
Tips For A Broke Hoe✨

1. Download your bank’s app onto your phone so you can check your account balance and transactions. This can help prevent you from spending too much money, keep track of what you’re buying and how often, and can also catch identity and bank theives early so you don’t lose all your money.
2. Get a job with a place you shop at frequently. A majority of retail companies give their employees some generous discounts (for example I work at Kohls and we get 15% normally, plus frequent 20/20/15% stacked friends and familu discounts, plus frequent 35% off everything discounts, AND employees can stack coupons and Kohl’s cash when other customers can’t).
3. COUPONS HOE!!! Clip coupons from paper ads, download RetailMeNot, and sign up for the free Rewards programs with your fav stores to get updates on sales and additional coupons.
4. Try to avoid vending machines and eating out. This’ll help you stop eating junk food as much, and save you some dough.
5. If you’re dissatisfied with a product (especially makeup), EMAIL THE COMPANY. They will typically compensate you with a refund, or a coupon, or even a free alternative product.
6. Keep your receipts for expensive items or items that you aren’t too sure about, and familiarize yourself with that store’s return policy.
7. Take advantage of student discounts. A lot of fast food places and clothing stores aaccept discounts with your student ID.
8. Cheap But Amazing Makeup Brands: MAKEUP REVOLUTION, NYX, ELF, Essence, Maybelline, Covergirl, and Loreal Paris (all available at Ulta, Target, Walmart, or your local pharmacy)
9. Talk to your bank about setting up a Certificate of Deposit (CD). This is a particular savings account that when you invest your money, it accumulates mote interest over a set amount of time, so when yhat time is up you have more money than what you started with. Be careful with these though, because interest rates can vary, and if you withdraw any money from your CD before the set time is up, you can lose your interest or even your original funds. This is good for saving up bulk amounts of money for college, cars, or a home.
10. Set up budgets for each week/month/year to regulate your spending. Categorize your money imto things like “Food,” “Clothes,” “Gas,” “Personal Care,” “Bills,” etc.
11. Order water at restaurants. At fast food places, ask for a water cup. Water is ALWAYS free, and it’s much healthier for you than soft drinks.
12. Unplug your chargers/cords when you arent using that shit to save on your electricity bill.
13. Shop👏at👏the👏Goodwill👏. They have actual cute, retro shit for way cheaper than your typical bougie places.
14. A lot of times you can get FREE SHIT by filling out surveys on your reciepts after shopping somewhere. Ulta enters you into a lottery to win a $500 gift card, Kohl’s gets you more coupons, etc.
15. Set aside $5 every week. You’ll save over $200 by the end of the year to treat yourself with.
16. Sluggbooks.com is AMAZING for buying college textbooks. It compares prices and rental fees among different websites and companies to help you get the best deal.
17. RENT👏YOUR👏TEXTBOOKS👏ITS👏SO👏MUCH👏CHEAPER👏
18. Take advantage of free concerts, parks, festivals, etc as somethin to do. Who said you gotta spend money to have fun?
19. Sell, return, or donate shit you don’t need or want. Liking everything you have (clothes, makeup, appliances, etc) is gonna keep you organized and simple, and gives you an idea of what you want/need so you go into a store without splurging on even more shit you don’t need (I know its a little confusing, but trust me your life will be so much easier)
20. I know this should be obvious, but have a good work ethic. You’re more likely to get raises and promotions. Every single is a potential reference, and you never know when you’ll be in a pinch for money and may need that job back temporarily.
21. Don’t waste all of your money on stupid shit like drugs or alcohol; its expensive and toxic for your beautiful body anyway.
22. Keep your bills, receipts, taxes, insurance policies, and other important personal information in the same organized place (I recommend a labelled file cabinent or binder). Financial organization is 🔑
23. Keep a journal of everything you buy & how much you spent in a month. At the end of each month, review and assess what were necessary buys and what you can cut down on next month.
24. If you’re a college student, a lot of schools have a free gym membership. Use it.

Thats all for now, hoes💎

You know, imo, if Jack-the-nephilim truly wasn't evil he would've showed Cas that in "the future" he wouldn't actually need all those damn diapers. I mean, what a waste of money. Dick move, Jack. You coulda mentioned to Cas when you mind-zapped him that you were gonna pop out fully grown... I bet you don't even poop, do you Jack? I bet everybody poops but you. Stupid nephilim... >:(

You turned over in your bed, trying to get comfortable but having no luck. After being laid there for over an hour you gave up. You sat up with a huff opening your laptop you decided to scroll through Tumblr. You got bored after half an hour and decided to look at some NSFW posts. You tilted your head as you saw the first post, you stare at the girl who had stockings on, no panties and a lacy bra. Her hands were tied with black silk and he eyes were covered with the same material. The man was licking from her pussy to her ass. Gotta love Tumblr you thought, you bit your lip and continued scrolling, after about half an hour you decided to watch a film.
