“I don’t regret, for a single moment, anything I’ve ever done in my life. Not when it’s led me to you. [y/n], I love you.”

The explosion that sounded over the communications link worked in time with the explosion evident in the power center of Zarkon’s ship. Though that explosion meant everything to the shift in power of the battle, you look upon it with despair.

A bond with a Galran is much more than physical, or emotional. It’s spiritual. It is possible to share your spirit with one another, in the most intimate sense of the word. You’d given more than just your body to Thace; you’d given your heart and your soul.

You’d felt it, deep in your gut the moment Thace’s flame had burned out. It left you cold, alone, and shaken to the core. Thace’s brothers in arms had felt it too, Kolivan and Antok who stood beside you, and each placed a hand over their chest.

But their pain couldn’t compare to your agony.

Everyone could hear your screams over the comms, and you practically begged Thace to answer. Tears fall from your face, and you collapse, Antok coming to your side as Kolivan commemorates his fallen comrade. It’s hard to see through your blurry vision so you close your eyes, and you hold tightly onto Antok, crying into his chest.

No one could really look at you, Keith especially. Hell, he’d even wanted you to be mad at him. He felt he had deserved your loathing and your scorn, but you couldn’t bear the thought of hatred in your love’s name.

A proper reaction to 1k followers

To be honest, I only started watching Riverdale because I hear Cole Sprouse was playing in it. I’ve never read the comics, never saw any adaption, nothing.

And then I started watching it and I could feel so easily with Jughead. I have trouble fitting in, especially at school or in my group of friends. I didn’t have the easiest childhood and it lead to me being a bookworm and a writer. I felt completely out of place everywhere else than in my room.

When I made this blog, it was mainly because I was so happy to have a character like Jughead who, like me, was insecure in his relationship with someone he thought he didn’t deserve because they were so good and pure and nothing like this broken piece he and I were, and I needed a place to appreciate that. But I was also afraid because I don’t usually fit into fandoms and this feeling of not belonging here still strucks me sometimes when I see how close most of this fandom are and I’m just… there.

Even more grateful makes me that one thousand people for whatever reason thought my blog and my little fics - which are still hard for me to write because I’m seriously not used to oneshots and writing in English - are worth following. I don’t know how I can ever make up to all you wonderful people. Thank you for following me. Thank you for reblogging my posts, liking them and that no matter how out of place I feel, you make me feel that what I’m doing here is worth it. Thank you.

A Most Important Scene From Voltron Season 3

So… there’s something about this entire scene that’s had me pondering it all morning. Now, despite my writing tendencies or even which characters I would like to see together, most people who know me understand that while I write and post certain things, how I actually view the canon is separate. Like, I don’t watch Voltron for shipping and what characters do and don’t end up together is not why I’m into it. I’m very realistic about potential ships and do my best not to let shipping goggles cloud my judgement. After all, I may like to create, but I also analyze. And anyone worth their socks in literary/media analysis knows that it’s about looking at what you’re given and not what you want to see (what we want to see gets into headcanon/prediction territory, which can be backed by analysis, but they aren’t the same thing). In other words, me fangirling about a ship and me looking critically at a piece of media are two very separate things.

Therefore, this scene has left me in rather a… curious sort of hesitance? Because I find it hard to believe that I’m coming to the conclusions that I am?

First and foremost, I’m glad that Lance and Keith are working together better and trusting one another enough to go to the other about their problems. I don’t care who you ship with who, it’s good character development for them when we look back at where they started and does nothing but help the team. Keith admitted his faults to Lance when he pushed the team too hard and Lance went to Keith when he was insecure. These are not small steps for these boys and I’m glad they’re finally becoming better friends. And that’s honestly all I thought I was going to take away from this season, if I even got that far.

Until I saw this part of this scene specifically (I’ma use this screenshot a lot, lol) -

 - First of all, I want to look at how these frames with Keith are laid out. Keith is in the center of the frame the whole time, his posture is open, his expression is friendly, his smile is sincere. He is lacking in weapons or anything typically considered threatening. But what is probably most important is that we’re not just seeing Keith from Lance’s point of view, we’re seeing him through Lance’s eyes.

There is a difference. For example, in these scenes -

- we’re seeing Allura from Lance’s POV, but not through his own eyes. This is a very common type of shot when two people are having a conversation or even when multiple people are in the room. It’s like getting a third person description of what’s happening with weight on a certain character’s perspective. Sometimes it’s not even that far and it’s just convenient to look over this character’s shoulder. Versus when we get a more first person perspective when we see a character through another character’s eyes.

We also get shots like this in this same scene -

- This shot comes in concurrence with the one previously and can still be considered as coming from Lance’s perspective. So what’s the difference between this shot and the one of Keith? This shot is up close–it’s focused on Allura’s expression and what she’s saying. She’s also not completely centered, but balanced in the frame for the viewer, not Lance’s perspective. Lance is listening to her, not admiring her in any way, shape, or form. In fact, despite Lance’s general attempts at constantly flirting with Allura, he is not looking at her at all in this scene as a potential romantic interest. This entire scene is focused on what they’re saying and what that means. Not any kind of attraction between them.

Which is what struck me as so odd about the way we see Keith through Lance’s eyes in episode 6. When a character is being admired by another character, getting a shot through their eyes of their subject from the waist up, or thighs up, or knees up, etc, is a very common way of displaying that admiration in a visual sense. It’s already clear from this scene that Lance views Keith as the new leader -

- So even if Lance takes issue with some of the things Keith does, he–at the very least–begrudgingly accepts Keith’s position and is doing everything in his power to support him (as most of season 3 is evidence of). Which is why these frames -

- took me so far aback. Honestly, I was much more expecting this kind of scene to be displayed from Lance’s eyes when his and Allura’s development took place. I even went back during their critical conversation to look for it. But there isn’t anything similar. Lance clearly respects Allura, but he didn’t “waver” in looking at her so as to imply a different kind of admiration.

Another character that gets this treatment a lot? Shiro. Shiro is their leader. Shiro is their security. Shiro is oftentimes framed in this manner when the other paladins are listening to him. But usually it’s a group shot, and even if there are scenes with him and one other (maybe with Keith? I’m not going back to watch the whole series), his body language and expression are not so soft. There could probably be some shots of Shiro looking less severe when he speaks to Keith, but I never remember being this struck by a scene with Shiro that didn’t feel like anything more that admiration because he’s their leader and/or idol and/or older brother figure (this goes for Pidge as much as Keith). Just as I’ve never seen anything to blatantly support Klance before. Like, I’m not playing favorites here.

The point I’m trying to make is that, in seeing Keith through Lance’s eyes in this scene, we’re gleaning a LOT about how Lance views Keith. Not only is he listening to Keith, but we’re seeing Keith as more than just a face with words. It would have been easy to frame this scene like this -

- I mean, even this is still… But the point is, there were a lot of ways to frame this that didn’t have Lance giving Keith that “admiring” look that is oftentimes used in movies and animation. At this point, Keith is the center of Lance’s entire focus. The rest of the room is bare, Keith is what stands out most. But it’s not just his words or what he’s saying, it’s his entire person. It’s his body, his words, his posture, where he’s standing in the room.

And then we get to his expression. This is so important. They could have given Keith more attitude, they could have had him lean back on one leg and cross his arms. They could have done LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE to suggest that Lance was merely admiring Keith as a leader and friend, but they didn’t. They kept his posture open. They kept him still and centered in the frame. And they gave him the softest mother fucking smile that Keith has probably displayed in the entire goddamn show. And I don’t mean to say that he hasn’t given those small, soft smiles, because he has, but this one has teeth and is still soft. EVERYTHING about this frame is soft.

And this is HOW LANCE is seeing Keith. We have the distance from where Lance is standing in the doorway to Keith to support this, as well as how he looks following, which implies that we were seeing Keith through him -

- He’s looking over his shoulder, continuing the line of sight we the viewers were just privy to. And he reflects the same softness he has just seen in Keith.

For fucks sake, all we need is an edit of that frame of Keith with a soft white background and some sparkles and we’re all fucking set! This frame -

- was coded to be romantic. This is Lance not only admiring Keith, but seeing him in a “different” light. I mean, look at Keith’s hair for crying- UGH! Just add some wind and a few flower petals and- just- HOLY FUCK, LANCE! OGLE HIM SOME MORE WHY DON’T YOU! I don’t know if Keith is really this beautiful or not BUT YOU’RE DOING A GOOD JOB OF MAKING IT SEEM LIKE HE’S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CREATURE YOU’VE EVER SEEN, LANCE!

Seriously, this is probably one of the most sincerely romantic frames we’ve gotten in the entire series. It’s also quite bittersweet. And, like, even if Lance isn’t aware that he’s looking at Keith like this, we are! We’re literally watching Lance form feelings for Keith through his own goddamn eyes. Ugh, gag me.

I am disgusted.

This whole storyline that started this season about Cam and Arastoo adopting has seriously warmed my heart, but in all honesty, the one thing that gets me about the whole thing is that at the end of the day, Cam went to Brennan of all people to discuss about their adoption plans (you can tell from her ‘you ready to tell them?’ remark earlier that Brennan knew about Cam and Arastoo’s plans all along - and it brings back memories of all those years ago, when Cam first started working at the Jeffersonian and both Brennan and Cam clashed so much, and it was that one conversation in the diner about Brennan being a foster child which led them to working out a plan to function better as a team and colleagues, and all that has led up to this moment now. That she can now confide in Brennan, and Brennan in turn, was there to offer her the advice and support required, is what makes this entire scene even better for me. Because it shows just how far these two have come after all these years, from colleagues who couldn’t get along, to becoming dear friends. And in all honesty, that is all I could have ever asked for with these two. ❤️

its interesting watching Wonder Woman reviews on youtube

every male reviewer I’ve watched has been like “yeah its a solid film. didn’t do anything spectacular.”

whereas every girl has been raving about it. it’s just interesting cause like…one dude was talking about how he didn’t really feel anything during the No Man’s Land scene and it just struck me bc like…obviously he didn’t feel shit because he’s seen something like it done a thousand times with male superheroes.

like its bizarre cause i was nearly in tears during that scene, watching the soldiers get a burst of courage and follow a powerful, strong WOMAN into battle. she inspired them. that shit has pretty much NEVER been done in film before and as a woman, I thought it was breathtaking and refreshing 2 see.

so yeah. idk if that made any sense i just thought it was interesting.

i. she runs her fingers across the back of my hand and it feels like being struck by lightning. there is a storm overhead that hasn’t started yet, but the grey skies are not nearly as intimidating as her eyes on my lips

ii. we fall asleep under the same stars every night but years stretch further than the distance between our beds. I never fall asleep in her arms. I have never dreamed of something so much.

iii. a night of firsts. first time skinny dipping. first time breaking into a pool. first time seeing her naked. not a first kiss, yet somehow it always feels so new.

iv. she buys a beat up car and I steal my freedom from under my parents’ thumb. the sound of tires on gravel still sounds like running away.

v. the fireflies stop showing up when we meet. the wind chills and we both freeze in place. I thought time had given us a pause but he doesn’t stop for anyone, not even the young trying to fall in love.

vi. letters only mean so much and no one ever means it when they say “we’ll keep in touch.” her kiss doesn’t feel new and I don’t know if she means it when she tells me “I’ll always love you.”

vii. I loved her. I love her. You never forget your first but it isn’t enough. It isn’t enough.

Do you ever think about how Phil has loved Dan through so many phases of Dan’s life? Like, he loved 2009 Dan, he loved 2012 Dan, he loved 2015 Dan, and he loves 2017 Dan. And he’s never tried to change him. He never tried to change who Dan was. He just let him be him, he let Dan grow at his own pace and Phil just loved him no matter what. Some couples you have to worry about growing apart, but not them, because whoever Dan becomes, Phil will love that Dan.

You were sick and tired of your attractive idiot neighbor blocking your driveway.

a/n: i felt like writing this weekend and this happened surprise surprise. this is what happens when i’m buzzed off of two venti macchiatos please leave me feedback TT

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”

You blocked out the angry voice shouting at you from your neighbors now open door. The hurried footsteps were getting closer but you pretended you didn’t hear, continuing to drag your key along the shiny black BMW blocking your driveway. Before you could reach the back tires a hand grasped your wrist, turning you around to face your irritating neighbor.

“Oh! Hey there, neighbor,” you grinned, innocently eyeing your neighbor head to toe. He was dressed casually with his hair tousled as though he’d just woken up. His jaw was tense as his hands tightly held your wrist, nothing but anger found in his eyes. You weren’t sure of his first name but had seen him a few times in silent passing. He was relatively new to the neighborhood, keeping to himself along with his roommate you caught quick glimpses of as well. The two had moved in a month ago and you kept to yourself as well, not bothering to play nice and whip up a housewarming desert you couldn’t even properly bake. It wasn’t until a week ago that you realized your neighbors weren’t exactly your cup of tea. They had people over constantly whether they were attending their overcrowded house parties, movie nights or simply staying over till the sun came back up. It seemed whenever the two had guests around their parking lot quickly become full, causing a new issue to arrive. You noticed the brunette, tall one seemed to have a kick out of parking right in front of your light blue beetle making it impossible for you to maneuver around his pricey sports car. The parties seemed to hit an all time high and you constantly found yourself trapped in your own driveway. You left sticky notes on his windshield, kindly asking him to stop blocking your spot and occasionally he would but it wouldn’t take long for him to fall back into his routine. It wasn’t until he made you late to your job earning you a lengthy lecture from your boss, that you felt you’d had enough, storming outside to drag your keys along his prized possession.

Your decision making skills weren’t the best when you were angry.

Okay but like Sukka is just such a good and pure and beautiful ship…

Can we just take a moment, a mere moment to appreciate these two.

The fact that they changed each other’s whole view of the world upon first meeting: Sokka’s chauvinism getting thrown out the window and Suki being inspired to look beyond her island home and make a difference in the war, in the world.

The fact that Suki makes Sokka feel so good about himself, as a character whose struggled with insecurities throughout the series (about being a non bender, about being a leader about what it means to be a man) to see him be with someone who talks about him so affectionately and with such admiration, that he didn’t even recognise she was talking about him! That just warms my heart.

And I just love how Suki has so much fun with him. She’s obviously spent, presumably, her whole life, being raised and trained as a fierce warrior, willing to throw island trespassers to a giant sea snake without batting an eyelash, yet with him she laughs, giggles even, she has fun, she sneaks backstage to meet the actors in a play, and he makes sand sculptures of her, which she (to everyone’s surprise) really likes, and it’s all so sweet.

She believes in him and trusted him to come for her when she was imprisoned. To Suki, Sokka isn’t just the ‘funny guy’ or the ‘meat and sarcasm guy’, he’s someone worth believing in, someone worth waiting for.

They are also just such a badass team! (fan and sword anybody??) And their mutual affinity for war paint and sharp weapons? Beautiful.

And another thing with Sukka that I just adore is that, unlike my other atla ships (with their political intrigue and reincarnated star crossed lovers, which I love very much don’t get me wrong lol.) there’s this uncomplicated beauty about Sukka. Just these two people who fell in love in a war torn world and found comfort, relatabilty and happiness in each other.

And

Just…

*happy sigh*

Sukka.

confession time, here’s what i got

Summary: In which Otabek and Yuri pine for each other a lot, and manage to drag other people into their own problems. (otayuri week day 1! prompt: confessions, otayuri, side pairings viktuuri and saramila, word count: 4095)

Otabek figures out that he loves Yuri when he is twenty-one.

It’s during Yuri’s nineteenth birthday, too. His plane lands exactly at midnight, and he’s rushing to get his baggage as quick as he can to meet his best friend. He sees him the moment he claims baggage – it isn’t hard to miss his long hair or his leopard jacket – and he stretches his arms out as Yuri bolts over to him.

In the next minute, he has him in his arms, and he hears a cheerful, “Beka!” in his ears, and, oh, he realizes. He is in love.

anonymous asked:

Inquisition companions react to Solas taking the unconscious inquisitor with him when he leaves at the end of trespasser. Romances too please! (Solas can be excluded if it's easier.) The companions could arrive just in time to see. ;)

Exclude Solas?? Well, now you’ve just issued a challenge. I accept!

Solas: High Approval: His friend is lying there, hurt because of him. His friend, who has stood by him through it all and wants the best for the world. He can’t just leave it like this. The Inquisitor would be a very valuable ally, after all. He doesn’t want them as his enemy. Low Approval: He sneers at the Inquisitor’s prone form before him, everything he hates about the world he created embodied in this one person. This one incredibly valuable person. True, they don’t get along, not even remotely, yet to have the Inquisitor with him, even as a prisoner, would be invaluable to him. And if the Inquisitor could be turned to his side? Thedas would never see them coming. If Romanced: His vhenan is lying there, vulnerable, hurt, maybe even broken. It was not supposed to happen this way. And he can’t just leave them there, even though he knows he should. In his arms, they feel smaller, more delicate, than they really are, and he can’t help but kiss their face. “Ar lath ma,” he whispers as he steps through the glass. It isn’t over yet.

Cullen: The Inquisitor, unconscious in Solas’s arms, is disappearing through the eluvian. And he isn’t quick enough to stop it! He paces in front of the mirror for hours, calling out to the pair, trying to understand. Why would Solas take them? If Romanced: No! His spouse, married for only days, is disappearing through the eluvian in Solas’s arms. He can’t let it happen! Yet it’s too late. He beats his fists bloody on the glass, careful not to break it, and yells for Solas to come back with the one he loves.

Josephine: She was placating the Exalted Council so she didn’t see, but the reports from the others are disturbing, to say the least. The Inquisitor is gone? What do they do now? She tries to put aside the personal loss and deal with the political nightmare that will result. How can she spin this to the council? They will damn the Inquisition for it! If Romanced: She sobs. Gone? Why would the Inquisitor be gone? She doesn’t understand, it doesn’t make sense! They wouldn’t leave her like this! Would they? Dealing with the political crisis is much harder for her and she can’t just set aside her own feelings this time.

Leliana: Her arrow struck the glass only moments after it closed behind them, her scream of frustration following Solas to wherever he’s disappeared to. Why take the Inquisitor? They’re still needed! There’s so much to do!

Blackwall: He yells, running, and nearly shatters the mirror as he tries to follow. The Inquisitor is still needed! If Romanced: He stands in front of the mirror, his forehead pressed to the glass. He needs to get through, but it’s closed. He knows this, but still he doesn’t move, only presses harder against it. The Inquisitor must come back.

Cassandra: She’s furious. She rages at the empty mirror, and it takes all her strength not to simply shatter it. The Inquisitor is still needed! The Inquisition still needs its leader. The Exalted Council is still unfinished! If Romanced: She’s sobbing as she weakly beats on the glass, begging for her lover back. She only just started to live that dream.

Iron Bull: He doesn’t know what to do. He’s surrounded by statues that used to be his people and the Inquisitor just disappeared through the eluvian. He just stands there, completely uncertain for perhaps the first time. If Romanced: Once the initial shock fades, he starts frantically searching for another way through. There has to be another way! There’s always another way. He won’t let his kadan go that easily!

Dorian: No! His spell slides uselessly off the glass, all the knowledge Tevinter stole from the elves useless as he tries to open the way. The Inquisitor is gone, and he mourns. If Romanced: For hours he stands in front of the eluvian, searching every pieces of knowledge he has to find a way through. Tevinter must have taken something from the elves that can help! “Amatus, don’t go…”

Vivienne: Like Dorian’s, her spells are useless. Her power is useless. The Inquisitor is gone, and Thedas might just fall for it. The Exalted Council will never be appeased now. They are doomed.

Sera: Her arrow shatters against the glass, but another one follows it anyway. She keeps it up until there are no more arrows in her quiver. Then she simply stands there, shaking, bow in hand. What now? If Romanced: The end of her arrows means it’s time to pull out the knives. Her throwing knives are exactly as useless as the arrows, but she has to do something! Inky is gone! Honeytongue got taken through that friggin’ mirror! She can’t let it go!

Varric: “Shit, shit, shit,” he chants to himself, pacing in front of the mirror. He knows which way the wind is blowing now, and they are all completely screwed. Without the Inquisitor, the Inquisition is doomed. And probably Thedas, too. And he’s lost another friend. Are they even okay? Alive? Should he mourn? Or search? He doesn’t know.

Cole: “Haunting, hiding, old magic in a mirror. They won’t be followed. We can’t help.” He knows there’s nothing he can do for the Inquisitor and Solas, so he turns his attention to the others. There’s so little he can do to help, though.

How Far I’ll Go Spread

Inspired by the song ‘How Far I’ll Go’ from Disney’s Moana

This is one of my favorite, if not most favorite, Disney movies. In particular, this song struck a chord in me. I can relate to the feeling of being called to something, but unable to find the confidence to set sail toward that calling.

For Moana, it was the Sea that called her - that beckoned her to greatness like her ancestors. For me, it is becoming a pharmacist. Years ago I tried to prepare myself for pharmacy school, but could never truly take the plunge… and ever since I have been coming back to it, over and over… And now’s my time. The wind is in my sail and I’m headed off to see how far I’ll go.

I made a spread to help me pinpoint some of the feelings I have over the matter, and thought I’d share it with you all.
