Deconstructing the warrior spirit with Jocko Willink.

Jocko Willink is a decorated retired Navy SEAL officer, author of the book Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win, and co-founder of Echelon Front, where he is a leadership instructor, speaker, and executive coach. Devotional Warrior, aka Humble Warrior, was initially one of my least favorite poses. Although I had plenty of flexibility when I was a beginner, I didn’t have the strength or very good balance, so I would sometimes tip over in this pose. But, many years later, it’s one of my preferred asanas for the intense chest and hip openers as well as all of the leg strength it has helped me build.
