So my fancast Jessica Chastain is out most likely of playing Ivy in the DCEU. Who do you want to play Poison Ivy?

Hi,

I saw that she’s up for some “X-Men” movie right? Well good for her lol. I think Chastain would’ve been great because she’s a great actress but I don’t think someone should be picked for Ivy because they have red hair. Not saying that’s why you picked her but I often see - when people are fancasting- that they just go for the obvious. People can dye their hair for roles, isn’t Margot Robbie’s a natural brunette? Her roots seem to grow brown and I once saw an interview of her on Jimmy Kimmel where they showed a young picture of her and she had dark brown hair.  Obviously Jared Leto’s hair isn’t naturally bright green. I’m not trying to offend you or anyone so don’t take it that way please.

This is David Ayer. He made the most diverse superhero film ever. He said in a press conference that “kids need to see people that look like them” on the big screen. This is Warner Bros. who have shown that they want to show as much diversity as possible both in front of and behind the scenes. I would be willing to bet money that “Gotham City Sirens” will NOT be three white female leads. I would actually be kinda disappointed if it was to be honest. WB is not a white sausage feast that is only 14 movies in getting diverse like some other movie studio. Just remember who is making this movie they have all shown that they are very driven to show as much diversity as possible.

So if you’re asking me who my fancast for Poison Ivy is? I’ve had this person in mind since I saw her speak at the Oscars then I watched ‘Hidden Figures’ and she was fantastic in it. My fancast for Posion Ivy is Janelle Monáe. (x)

Thanks!

Wonder Woman Needs Our Help

I don’t normally make posts like this, but I feel like this is something I need to do because it’s bigger than myself. So, I don’t know if you’ve heard but the Wonder Woman film comes out June 2nd… And if you didn’t know that, there’s a reason for it.
Warner Brothers aren’t spending money on promoting the Wonder Woman film. No tv promotions, billboards, nothing. A film about a strong, powerful, amazing woman superhero directed by Patty Jenkins who happens to be the first woman to direct a superhero film with a female protagonist and one of only a handful (a literal handful… you can count on one hand) to direct a superhero film at all.
They are setting it up to fail so they can say “I told you so” and not only continue the blatant sexism in the film industry but blame it on Patty if the movie fails, setting female directors up (whom are already told they won’t get hired) so they can have an excuse to say “Oh well, we tried hiring a woman to direct a film and it didn’t work. Lets not do that again.”

This film is bigger than just being a superhero movie… It has the ability to bust open the glass ceiling of Hollywood to tell them that yes, superhero movies about women do well and yes, women can not only direct blockbusters but they can do it well. Because I can guarantee you, Patty does it well.

PLEASE spread this around and let Warner Brothers know we aren’t going to stand for this bullshit.

GO SEE WONDER WOMAN JUNE 2nd!!!

Me, being the Scooby-Doo fanatic I am, decided to make a complete timeline of all the Scooby-Doo content that include the animated series, animated movies, live action films, and possibly the worst Scooby rendition which was the puppet movie all in chronological order. I wanted to show how the gang and the animation style had changed throughout the years, so enjoy!

You Aren't Imagining It, 'Wonder Woman' Isn't Being Well Promoted
With only a month and change to go, Warner Bros. seems to have little interest in promoting 'Wonder Woman.'

“When Suicide Squad came out, you couldn’t escape the world’s worst heroes. They were everywhere, despite the average audience-goer knowing only who Harley Quinn and the Joker were due to pop culture osmosis. Everyone knows who Wonder Woman is. Yet a quick look at the playlist for Suicide Squad vs. Wonder Woman on the official Warner Bros. YouTube page is as different as night and day.

Approximately a month before Warner Bros. releases one of their biggest films of the year, one that will go down in entertainment history one way or another simply for being the first film starring Princess Diana, the company has released three trailers and two “Tilt Brush” videos explaining the concept art.

At the same point in the marketing cycle for Suicide Squad, the villainous flick already had three trailers, four TV spots, a “Buy Advanced Tickets” promotional video, and fun little biographies for each member of the team. That’s a hell of a lot more promotion for a B-string list of heroes (at best) than for WONDER WOMAN.

Speaking for myself, I have seen exactly ONE commercial so far and that was two nights ago! Where I live they were showing Suicide Squad ads on basically a non-stop loop this far out from the release of SS.

GROWN UP TITANS FOR GROWN UP FANS!

As always, Phil Bourassa & his team are killing it with the awesome character designs!

… and when parents of young children complain about the violence being inappropriate for kids, enjoy the irony in telling them “This wasn’t made for you; This is for an older audience” ;) LOL I keeeed because I love, guys.

You know, I’ll readily admit that so far, the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole has had consistently better film output than the current DC Extended Universe.

But on the other hand:

  • DC didn’t make Superman secretly a member of the Klan during a surge of racist and xenophobic rhetoric and politics in the US
  • DC also didn’t make their Jewish characters like Harley Quinn or Batwoman into pseudo-Nazis while the US is under a blatantly anti-Semitic political administration
  • DC also didn’t ask comic shop employees to wear T-shirts with pseudo-Nazi logos or to cover their store logos with pseudo-Nazi symbols
  • DC also, in my knowledge, never blamed slumping sales on being too diverse in their lineup
  • Which isn’t to say they haven’t had their share of tone-deaf and flat-out insulting gaffes, but when New 52 didn’t do as well as they expected I know they didn’t blame it on having a Green Lantern and a Batman who were Muslim
  • Marvel Studios has yet to release a solo superhero film starring a woman (Elektra is a Fox film).  DC’s had two female-led cinematic releases (three if you consider Evey to be the main character of V for Vendetta), those being Supergirl and Catwoman.  And yes, Supergirl and Catwoman were terrible, but at least they exist.  An attempt was made
  • The current DC Extended Universe will also give us Wonder Woman before the MCU gives us Captain Marvel
  • If the current planned lineup for the DC Extended Universe holds, then their first five solo film leads will probably be two white men (Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill and presumably whoever plays Captain Marvel in Shazam!), a Jewish woman (Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot), a Native Hawaiian man (Aquaman, Jason Momoa), and a black man (Cyborg, Ray Fisher).  The first solo film in the MCU with a lead who isn’t a white man will be Black Panther, their thirteenth solo film.
  • While Marvel was making Captain America and Magneto into HYDRA agents, DC made Snagglepuss into a gay Southern Gothic playwright because why not
  • While DC has its own fair share of fuckery, bad decisions, pointless, flow-wrecking crossovers, and other such garbage, at least they haven’t blown so many dog whistles at the alt-right in the past year that it’s very hard to consider it tone-deafness or coincidence at this point

So in conclusion, as we currently stand, DC’s on Marvel’s left.
