Omfg…everything makes sense now. Omelas motel in the trailer is based off of the book “the ones who walk away from omelas”. Basically it’s a utopian society that prospers from the misery of a child which makes PERFECT SENSE considering the hella muted colors in the beginning of the trailer. The book is based during a summer festival thus concluding the beach and the carnival set up. I’m shook. The album is dedicated to the youths who feel like society is only thriving based off of their suffering and saying that we’re not alone-that we can create better days together. It’s dedicated to us.
“The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas” is a work of philosophical fiction.
Omelas, a shimmering city of unbelievable happiness and delight. In Omelas, the summer solstice is celebrated with a glorious festival. Everything about Omelas is so abundantly pleasing that the narrator decides the reader is not yet truly convinced of its existence and so elaborates upon one final element of the city: its one atrocity. The city’s constant state of serenity and splendor requires that a single unfortunate child be kept in perpetual filth, darkness, and misery. However, a few citizens, young and old, silently walk away from the city, and no one knows where they go. The story ends with “The place they go towards is a place even less imaginable to most of us than the city of happiness. I cannot describe it at all. It is possible it does not exist. But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas."
So apparently the people that worked on Bangtan’s upcoming comeback song are highly anticipating it. According to them, it’s not just going to capture the fans’ attention but the attention of the general public as well.
