vsco cam only

I recently started following your studygram and I was wondering how you edit your pictures to make them look so good...

I don’t edit my photos too much since I’m not that concerned about my feed. I like natural/ mild editing better than bright white pics that could literally burn your retina xD

  • Setup: Keep it simple. Showcase what you’ve used in doing that work however you like.
  • Natural lighting: i usually take photos in the afternoon when the sunlight is prominent in the area where i usually take photos.
  • Clean background: i like to use my white bedsheets as a background since its not distracting.
  • Editing: as i mentioned earlier, i don’t like heavy editing so i stick to one app- vsco cam. I only adjust the exposure (approx +1) contrast (approx +1), sharpen (+6 to +8) and use a filter (HB1/ HB2/ SE3/ A6) depending upon the picture.

these roses have been wedged into the pages of Hosea for over 300 days. their age reminds me of the countless truths God has taught me from this radical, uncomfortable, scandalous love story. It’s utterly ludicrous, yet I’m compelled, captivated, by this kind of relentless love.

#HowIShoot: Food Photography with @symmetrybreakfast

To see more of Mark and Michael’s symmetrical daily breakfasts, follow @symmetrybreakfast on Instagram.

For one East London couple, eating breakfast together has become more than a daily routine. Michael Zee, who works at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (@vamuseum), spends hours looking for recipe ideas online and preparing a symmetrical breakfast every day for his boyfriend Mark van Beek, design director of Gloverall (@gloverall). Each creation is carefully crafted to be almost identical and photographed for their Instagram (@symmetrybreakfast).

The ritual began, explains Michael, one weekend soon after moving in together. The couple had recently bought an old school table to use as a dining table, where most of the food is now photographed. “I made Mark breakfast, stuck it all on a tray to carry it, and noticed it was symmetrical. And that’s how it started.”

Through his photos, Michael aims to showcase how people eat breakfast all over the world. “I have learned that anything can be breakfast,” he says. “Not everyone eats toast or cereal, and I really want to reflect that.”

this week I’m realising all over again the beauty and enormity of the fact that God spoke all things into being.

“He spoke, and it was.
He commanded, and it stood.”
— Psalm 33:9

From nothing; everything. God’s lightest uttered word flung stars into space and spoke the universe into Being. This blows my mind. But it gets crazier.

This God who dwells in unapproachable light clothed Himself in human flesh and surrendered Himself to death.

Though Jesus created all things by His commanding word and power, all things are also sustained by Him. Including that rugged cross at Calvary.

“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” (Hebrews 1:3)

Just as God spoke life at creation, so He speaks life into us in regeneration. He commands light to shine in our dark hearts, and says to them, when in their blood, Live; so by the mighty power of His word He brings people from death to life, from the stain of sin to purification, from slavery to freedom, from adultery to covenant, from sorrows to the highest of earthly joys.

God’s voice is powerful to create and sustain and save.

I’ll leave you with a C S Lewis Quote from ‘The Magicians Nephew,’ part of the Narnia Chronicles where Narnia is created. The descriptions are breathtaking.

The new stars and the new voices began at exactly the same time. If you had seen and heard it, as Digory did, you would have felt quite certain that it was the stars themselves which were singing, and that it was the First Voice, the deep one, which made them appear and made them sing. The earth was of many colours; they were fresh, hot and vivid. They made you feel excited, until you saw the Singer himself, and then you forgot everything else. It was a Lion. Huge, shaggy, and bright, it stood facing the risen sun. It’s mouth was open wide in song.

You are so gorgeous like I just don't......how? How do you take such good selfies? And how do you edit your pics x love your blog too xxx

Awww thanks cutie  ❤️ I don’t not all the time sometimes the lighting’s to shit for Iphone quality that’s why you’ve got to have a High quality camera for back up for days you look cute but your phone is co-operating, you can always trust your camera as it has loads of settings and good flash. I don’t like Edit my pictures as in alter my face or anything, however for colour, I will turn the temperature down and the saturation up, and depending on the quality turn the contrast down or up, you don’t need to download anything for that you can just use the edit option on the photo itself. Also I do sometimes use the vsco cam filters only sometimes though because it doesn’t always go with the photo colours, it’s not good for selfies though I don’t like filters for that, t makes you look weird colour. Also Instasize to fit your photo all together so it can go on  instagram as the full photo without cropping, and picsart for collage that is together with no lines :) but really it’s all about lighting, which varies due to weather, Unless you use a camera then the camera will vary to fit the lighting. xxx

Here’s an Example

Iphone with flash

Samsung 3G wifi digital Camera

None Editited

Edited - I turned  the contrast up and Temperature down (so that it went with my theme) only for instagram though, I uploaded the original to here
