vote the shit out of this

56 million.

I don’t want to utterly lose my shit tonight so I’m just going to keep repeating to myself, 56 million.  From the numbers we’re seeing now, 56 million people voted for Hillary, 56 million people said no to Trump.

There are 56 million people out there who are going through the exact same terror right now. 56 million people, maybe, also thinking, “I have to figure out how to protect myself now. I have family and friends to protect now.”

I’m trying to imagine 56 million people standing back to back, holding hands, refusing to move. I’ve got the third book of John Lewis’s graphic novel series “March” sitting on the table next to me. I’m forcing myself to remember that I am not alone, and neither are you. I’m with you. I’m digging in my heels and vowing to do everything in my power to protect our most vulnerable.

56 million people. Let’s protect each other. Let’s fight for each other. We are not alone. The crowd of the angry and bigoted is vast too, but we are not alone and we are not insignificant. We don’t stop existing after this election. Don’t let them convince us that we’re all alone.

Consider this holding out my hand and making you a promise.

I’m with you. 56 million people are with you. We are not alone.

And if you’re afraid of the power Trump already wields, hear this: if we don’t show up in the midterms, the Republicans could get a supermajority in the Senate. That means no ability to filibuster. No recourse. No way to stop them.

We’ve got to make sure the blue states stay blue and try to turn some of those red states blue as well. Don’t count your state out just because it usually votes Republican. Historically, midterms have way lower turnouts than presidential election years. So lets actually show up this time and do some damage.

Oh, and one hopeful note, all the House seats are up for reelection. So let’s take that shit away from Donald Trump and his Republican Party.

Hey, let’s go over the things you should do on Voting Day:

1) DON’T TAKE A SELFIE IN THE VOTING BOOTH. This could both invalidate your vote AND get you in serious trouble, so DON’T DO IT. If you want to take a pic and show that you voted, most polling locations hand out little ‘I Voted’ stickers that are perfect for it.

2) GET TO YOUR LOCATION EARLY. You don’t want to show up to your polling locations five minutes before they close. Even when ignoring all of the early closings and shady shit that went down during the primary, there’s no sense in being rushed through your vote. If you can, head out as early as possible - that way, you won’t have to rush.

3) BRING A FRIEND. Let’s be honest, voting isn’t the most convenient thing in the world. If you bring someone with you, it’s a lot more fun - not only that, but you’ll have a shield/safe place in case there’s anyone pushing a particular viewpoint outside of your polling location.

4) REMEMBER THAT IT’S NOT SCARY. Sure, voting may not be all that convenient, but it’s not all that bad, either. It only takes a few minutes, and while there might be a lot of people around, they’re just there to vote and get out of there - 99% of the time, they won’t even notice you, let alone try to influence your vote.

5) DON’T ‘JOKE VOTE.’ Hey, remember Brexit? That time where a bunch of kids/young adults/regular adults voted on something that fucked up their country because ‘they didn’t think it would actually happen’? YEAH LET’S NOT DO THAT. Your vote counts, and you only get ONE SHOT AT IT. Vote for your candidate and take it seriously.

Feel free to add anything, and to spread this around before tomorrow!

I hope from the bottom of my heart that everyone who had the privilege and ability to go out and vote and decided NOT TO feels like shit right now I truly do

The problem with what happened in America

Yeah I get that Trump was elected and shit, but I’d like to point out that - although he has the electoral votes - he should not be president. What I’m about to say isn’t so much opinionated but instead observations and common sense.

This isn’t a matter of “Boo hoo Hillary voters we won you can suck it” the way the results were received are unlike any other election.

When a president is elected…
It’s normal for people to be sad.
It’s normal for people to be happy.
It’s normal for people to just get on with it and accept the results.

BUT, also when a president is elected…
It’s not normal for riots to ensue immediately.
It’s not normal for people to fear for their lives.
It’s not normal for entertainment businesses to reconcile and comfort the public.
It’s not normal for other countries to do the same thing.
It’s not normal for citizens to deny the position of the new president.

Finally, it’s not normal for a president to have zero previous political experience.
It’s not normal for a president to threaten alleged victims of sexual assault from him.
It’s not normal for a president to encourage violence between citizens.
It’s not normal for a president to change behavior drastically on election day.

This isn’t normal.
This isn’t okay.

  • person: heres a list of all the terrible shit trump is doing
  • liberal: wow if only countless people warned you how terrible a trump presidency would be maybe then you wouldve voted differently. oh wait

I keep seeing all this “don’t lash out,” “what’s done is done,” “at the end of the day everyone is human” shit on Facebook. The nation literally voted for a man that brags about sexually assaulting women and his fuckboy friend that favors trying to torture the gay feelings out of kids. If you voted for them, you are not my friend.

I’m not going to make nice and shake the hands of the people who want to deny constitutional rights to me and my friends. Why would I respect Trump or Pence when they clearly don’t respect me? I’m not going to stop yelling. I’m just going to get louder. It’s not over, not by a long shot.

I wrote about this on Facebook and have seen a lot of references to it elsewhere but I just think for archival purposes I might as well write it down here: Trump is a puppet and Republicans of all stripes are desperately scrambling to force through as much absolutely repugnant shit as they possibly can, so that when his downfall comes (and someone, somewhere, probably has a careful plan for how to bring that about, and maybe even a schedule; impeachment most likely, and they’ll drag it out but let it happen), they can disavow everything terrible that happens, and spend just long enough dragging their feet on “repairing” all the “damage” he did (and it was all him! all on his own! he and his people! such rogues!) that the things they wanted will still happen, the people who were getting paid off for various corporate deals can still cash out, the assets can still get stripped out of the various government agencies, the outrage can burn itself out a bit, hopefully the few thousand sickest and most expensive patients stripped of healthcare will up and die already, the most annoying activists can get declared felons, a good collection of undesireables can get rounded up and deported or whatever, it’s all to the good even if it’s morally and legally indefensible.

But by the time midterms roll around, they can all pin the blame for everything terrible that has happened on Trump, and campaign for re-election and maybe even swing some *more* seats red because of the terrible consequences of the things they pushed through. They were helpless, you see. It was all that horrible man’s fault.

So. I’m thinking maybe we need to spend a little less energy frantically protesting everything he does, and a little more energy carefully taking note of just who wrote each of those executive orders, who the authors of those bills were, and who, especially among the Democrats, collaborated.

Take note of your Republican reps’ actions, and write to them and tell them that you see what they’re doing, and when Trump falls you’re not going to let them blame it on him; you see what their actual actions were in this ridiculous and confusing time, and you’re not going to fall for it.

Take note of your collaborators and write to them and tell them you’ll be backing a primary challenger against them in the next elections, if they’re Democrats.

We surely need to be planning for 2018, and these are the first steps for that. This is all meant to be overwhelming and distracting. Look to the long view. There’s not much more we can do in the short view– obstructionism is the only way to minimize the damage before Trump is eliminated.

(And, of course, keep the pressure up so that he does actually get eliminated.)

So yeah, you might have noticed that I’m just absolutely done with putting up with anti-semitic shit on either side of the political spectrum.

Your attempts to kick Jewish women out of activist spaces for not fitting your purity test are not progressive, they are antisemitic.

Your attempts to discount the waves of hate crimes targeting Jews are not progressive, they are anti-semitic.

Your attempts to blame Jews, the second-heaviest Clinton-voting demographic, for Trump are not progressive, they are anti-semitic.

We know the Nazis hate us. They can’t hide. I’m done letting the fake-progressive Jew-haters hide either.

The Black Friday River

I’m a DM for a campaign of chaotic evil characters. This particular session, they encountered a toll bridge to cross over a river and out of a corrupt county’s land.

DM (me): The woman behind the counter of the tollbooth looks exhausted as she repeats, likely for the hundredth time today, “The toll’s 4 gold pieces.”

Ranger (OOC): 4 gold for a toll?? I’m not paying that! I vote we kill this chick.

Several moments later, the rest of the party is in agreement. The bard slaughters the woman in one turn.

DM: As you easily decapitate the unarmed lady with your sword, the crowd of people that had been gathering to leave start to panic. Some scream, and all make a mad dash for the other side of the river. Imagine Black Friday shopping, but with peasants charging for the opposite bank.

(The whole table cracks up laughing for a minute before settling back down)

Rogue (OOC): Wait. Are they just taking advantage of the fact that they don’t need to pay the toll, anymore?

DM: No! They’re terrified that you murdered the toll keeper!

Rogue (OOC): But they do LIKE not having to pay the toll, right?

DM: Sure, they’ll be grateful for that after they escape with their lives. If they do.

And that’s how my murder hobo players discovered that it was profitable to ransack tollbooths. That’s also how the county discovered that they should guard tollbooths better. To this day, the river where this went down is called the ‘Black Friday River’ by my players.
And to think I spent weeks on worldbuilding

i want to point out to everyone that HILLARY WON THE POPULAR VOTE. there are more of us than there are of them, and that’s not even taking into account liberals who voted third party or didn’t vote. i also want to point out that the electoral college, flawed as it is, is something that was put in place in order to prevent someone unqualified for the presidency from taking office, even if they won the popular vote.

donald trump both lost the popular vote and is unfit for office. it’s a long shot, but make sure that the electorates are aware that on december 19th, if they vote donald trump into office, they will be voting AGAINST THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE for an unfit candidate.

I am a good Zenyatta. As Zen, I have more carry potential than a lot of healers, I can save my team in a teamfight, I can take care of myself, and I can strike fear into the hearts of lesser foes.

But I can only carry so much with my tiny robot arms. And when I break the Reinhardt shield, someone else needs to be hitting the called out discorded Mercy with me, or shit will hit the fan when y’all noodles waste your ults on a target only to have it come back to life again.

literally all of these screenshots came from losses ffs

So Trump won,

And I’d like to apologize in advance to the people I treasure here for the language that follows, but to all of you who voted 3rd party or did a so called protest vote, to the Bernie or bust crowd as well…I’d like to send out a sincere, heartfelt FUCK YOU. Actually, not just sincere and heartfelt but also angry and disgusted by the self entitled filthy pieces of shit you all are.

Smug sons of bitches - with no offense to your actual mothers who may be decent people, just created some really REALLY STUPID offspring. You were warned again and again about this, but you dense fuckers couldn’t get that this was the time to take one for the team. And now you killed us all, you’ve given a madman control over the worlds most powerful army and arsenal. Read these words carefully: YOU killed - us - ALL.

The number of states that could have been won today if you weren’t so VERY FUCKING STUPID is astonishing. And now you won’t have a future, your kids and mine if born at all won’t have a future…you effectively set us all on a path to the motherfucking apocalypse because you wanted to ride around on a cute lil high horse. So was it worth it?

Hundreds of thousands of NATO troops are now on high alert for war, stock markets plummeted, one TRILLION dollars went down the drain tonight you dumb ass little self entitled shits. Gay rights, GONE. Women rights, GONE. Voter rights, GONE. Climate change discussion, GONE. Black lives support actions/groups, GONE. Healthcare, GONE. All minorities in danger…but rest assured all you college educated, white republicans, independents or otherwise, your turn to get screwed will come. If you don’t regret your stupidity now, you will soon…too bad it will also be too late by then. Some of you dumb fucks probably still think the law and constitution will still mean anything with fascists at the helm…lol

Don’t any of you fuckers dare say a word to me, I will end you. Actually, you can shove any views on the subject far, far up because if you excuse me, I’ve gotta go explain to my loved ones that some fucking little turds who think they’re special played around with fascism and that nothing matters anymore because our countdown clock just started and it won’t tick for long.

its fine if you wanna vote for hillary to keep out trump go ahead the main thing i truly detest are people that invoke guilt-tripping arguments involving “not caring” about marginalized people if you dont back clinton like honestly fuck off you can talk about marginalized people getting hurt but the emotionally manipulative shit is unnecessary and ignorant bc it goes into the whole weird “only rich cishet white men have radical left politics” thing

The Price of Life

Context: I’m DMing an oversize party and half of my players were unable to attend due to various reasons. So their characters just passed out including the moral compass of the group. This left them with the bard, sorcerer, wizard and warlock. So they are discussing a door covered in blood runes in infernal that talk of containing souls and sealing magical beings. Which led to this conversation:

Bard: I vote we go back to town and request aid from their priests.

Sorcerer: If we did go to town and request a priest we would be charged with their safety.

Wizard: If they died it would come out of our paycheck.

Everyone: *considers this for a moment*

Wizard: Can anyone afford a human life?

Frank Ocean saying that it was a “faulty TV moment” when the Recording Academy “gave” 1989 AOTY like it’s not an INDUSTRY VOTED AWARD.

Honey, your PEERS voted on that. Your fellow industry artists/musicians voted on that. They gave 1989 that award. If you don’t feel your genius is properly recognized, try harder to connect with people… try reaching out to your peers in earnest instead of shitting all over them.
