volvo 66

1975 Volvo 66 DL.

A survivor; actually this is the first time ever we spotted this cute little box anywhere.

The Volvo 66 DL 66 was introduced shortly after Volvo took over Dutch car maker DAF in ‘75, who sold it as the DAF 66 before. Merciless as most Volvo buyers were, they never considered the 66 a „real“ Volvo. As a consequence, it didn’t sell well, eventhough it was a perfect addition to Volvo’s portfolio. Also, the few thousands sold were produced in good ‘70s fashion: without rust protection. A real gem.
