A hike to the crater lake at Pinatubo, Philippines

Last place we ended up going yesterday was bizarre and interesting. The pano picture I am standing on stop of a sediment flow damn that was built after the 1980 eruption of Mt St Helens to help control the flow of ash and sediment still moving down the river 37 years later. The rivers still run grey from all the ash, and you can see the charred tree stops that of the forrest that once existed.

Then of course, I had to pick some wildflowers as the nutrient rich ash that scattered the land meant the opposite side if the damn was completely covered in flowers.
