I'm amazed at your english skills everyday, how did you become so proficient?! I am an advanced NATIVE speaker and I'm not comfortable using some of the words you do, top shit dutch dude

Ayy thank you! :D

Err.. Mostly just through practice, I guess? I started learning when I was 4 or so and it probably helps that I have pretty good language sensitivity. (TV and videogames are amazing teachers, really). I try to correct myself when I catch myself making mistakes even in just casual use because I’ll find it embarrassing, and I try not to write lazily. I look up unfamiliar words and occasionally even check if the word I’m using means what I think it means.

So I guess largely just by being the kind of nerd to put time into it, although at this point it kind of just comes naturally. I think it also has to do with a subconscious fear of being misunderstood that makes me quite keen on knowing how to say what I want to say. I also just enjoy speaking eloquently, though having said that I do think I’ve slacked off on my pronunciation through not getting to physically speak English much these days…

At any rate, thank you for the praise! It’s much appreciated!
