Actually, speaking of teminology...

Michel Chion is a French composer and Sound Theorist. Born in 1947 he has published numerous books and papers on the subject. His theories form the basis of our understanding about the psychology sound and its use in all audio visual media, particularly cinema, and define how sound designers approach their work. 

In his years of teaching and and writing he has created ‘97 terms, wordings, and concepts’(Chion 2012) on the subject of sound in cinema… and here they are.. in English!
