It’s been officially settled. Nathra’s age and backstory have been tweaked.

By the events of Inquisition (whether Inquisitor or companion), Nathra will now be 26 years old. This puts her birth year at 9:15 Dragon (for anyone overly curious, her birth month is either Bloomingtide or Justinian - I haven’t decided yet).

Basically what all this means now:

  • By 9:16 Dragon, she and her parents live in the Kirkwall alienage.
    • This is the same year that Cassandra’s brother is murdered and she is sent to join the Seekers of Truth.
  • She is 6 years old by 9:21 Dragon when Viscount Perrin Threnhold is executed and Marlowe Dumar replaces him.
    • This is also the year that Meredith Stannard is promoted to Knight-Commander of Kirkwall’s Gallows.
    • The very next year is when Cassandra thwarts the conspiracy to assassinate Divine Beatrix III.
  • She is 15 years old when the Blight begins in Ferelden in 9:30 Dragon. Later in this very same year her mother becomes infected with a virus that sweeps through the alienage.
    • This means she is around when Hawke, baby Hawke, and Leandra arrive in Kirkwall with Aveline. Presumably Varric, Sebastian and Samson are also present in Kirkwall up until this point.
      • Depending on the individual world state/headcanons applied, she is also present when Isabela and the Qunari arrive.
  • By 9:31 Dragon, the Blight is ended and Nathra is 16 years old. By mid-year, the virus that infected her mother ultimately claims her life.
Uncertain he can safely raise and guard her in a city overflowing with templars, her father urges her to leave and find the Dalish. He, himself, stays behind to continue to aide and care for others in the alienage.
    • Here we now have the possibility of her crossing paths with Fenris, Merrill, Anders, and potentially even Cullen.

And to answer the potential “why wouldn’t she simply join Merrill’s clan?” question: they’re static. Entirely too stationary from what Nathra is taught as a child about her People. It scares her that this clan decides to stay so close to Kirkwall. Her father also urges her to get as far away from the city as possible to truly be able to start a fresh, safe life among the Dalish.

She already has her vallaslin when she leaves Kirkwall - a topic I plan to (eventually) make a separate post about c:

My take on some Trespasser end slides for the DA2 LI’s.

Old footage from HMY Britannia is watched by Lady Sarah Chatto, the Queen’s niece, describing the time passed at the royal yacht as “magical”. The frames, taken from Elizabeth at 90 (2016) documentary show other family members, namely the Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen’s nephew Viscount Linley, her youngest son, her sister Princess Margaret and even Lord Mountbatten can be spotted

“She [The Queen] included my brother and I in holidays and… her life really. We felt very lucky”

I have this hilarious image in my head of Fenris telling Taria after she's returned that Varric is Viscount of Kirkwall now and Taria just laughing uninterrupted for 3 hours or something.

Clearly they have to go rescue him from his terrible fate eheheh ^_^

(apologies for the handwriting lol Bit of a lighthearted follow-up to this comic)

Nightcall by Femme and noeon (116k)
A hideously mauled corpse is found sprawled across the paving stones of Brick Lane in the East End of London. Inspector Harry Potter–widely believed to be the lead candidate for next Deputy Head Auror–is called in to investigate a possible magical crime. To make matters worse, his occasional lover and former school-nemesis, Viscount Draco Malfoy, now billing himself as a consulting criminologist, shows up at the crime scene to aid in the investigation of the suspicious death.
Neither man will go away from the case unchanged, but will their combined forces be enough to fight the tide of danger that is sweeping London in the summer of 1910? And if they plumb the depths of the case, what bones of the past will they uncover?

Burning the Ground by traintracks (10k)
“Strap him down,” someone said, and Harry felt the rage thicken inside him – the viscous fear.
Magical bindings pulled taut around his wrists … He felt a wand touch his arm and then a sharp bite as something punctured the skin, and a sweet, cool tonic rushed his veins. His breathing slowed. His eyelids drooped.
The ceiling went grey and dark. And then he heard a woman’s voice sigh,
“Someone, get Healer Malfoy.”

Dangerous by Faith Wood (6k)
Being trapped in a dungeon with Malfoy — who’s a werewolf, a former Death Eater, and a giant git — is definitely dangerous. Harry has no reason to be excited. None at all.

Savage by marguerite_26 (18k)
In a post-war world that lives in fear and ignorance of werewolves, Draco Malfoy has taken every step to keep his condition hidden. When the delicate balance of his life shatters in a single moment, it is Harry Potter alone standing in his defence.

As if being a disgraced ex-Death Eater isn’t bad enough, now he has to deal with this… Draco’s supposed to be on holiday, but confronted with a newly turned Potter, his wolf has other plans.

With a Candle to Guide Me by daftfear (29k)
Draco wakes up in a nightmare, caught in the horror that’s haunted him since childhood. Desperate and trying to make sense of all that’s happened, Draco finds the only person who seems to want to give him answers is Potter. But being near Potter holds questions too—ones Draco isn’t sure he wants to ask. Even if it means turning down a way back to solid ground.

Fearless by Lomonaaeren (4k)
Draco Malfoy is a werewolf. Harry Potter is a human Auror on whom even a werewolf’s sensitive nose can smell no fear.

Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy by calrissian18 (4k)
Draco has a new flatmate and Potter has ideas of his own.

The Peace That Follows by Maab_Connor (10k)
Draco Malfoy did not get out of the war easily, his past caught up with him, and as he is coming to terms with the life before him Harry Potter manages to complicate matters.

Rise Above the Moon by Queenie_Mab (15k)
It’s not easy to make a living when your past misdeeds colour your life, but when the saviour of the wizarding world offers a possible way out, Draco Malfoy isn’t stupid enough to let the opportunity pass.

Can’t Stand the Heat (Some Like it Hot) by cylsus (3k)
Malfoy is acting oddly, but it’s clear he wants nothing to do with him–so why can’t Harry stay away?

Once Bitten, Twice Shy by katski_rocks (16k)
Just when Harry thought he was simply going to catch the last remaining Death-Eater-at-large, he caught a werewolf as well.

Resistance is Futile by olimakiella (11k)
The big bad wolf is going through mating season and shooting off pheromones like crazy in the Ministry Administration Department.

Château Comtal,
Cité of Carcassonne, France.

The Château Comtal (Count’s Castle) is a medieval castle within the Cité of Carcassonne, the largest city in Europe with its city walls still intact.
Carcassonne was besieged from 1st to 15th of August 1209 during the early phase of the War against the Cathars of the Languedoc. The siege followed soon after the Crusaders’ massacre of the entire population of Béziers, an act of terror designed to terrify the people of the area. Raymond-Roger Trencavel was Viscount of Béziers as well as Carcassonne - his cities were deliberately targeted by the Crusaders, as the Count of Toulouse had joined the Crusade himself, gaining immunity for his own lands.

‘Briggs’ was a survivor of the Charge of the Light Brigade. Originally named after a family servant, he was unofficially knighted after showing remarkable bravery during the battle. His owner, Captain the Honourable Godfrey Charles Morgan (later Viscount Tredegar, 1831-1913), commanded a squadron of the 17th Regiment of Light Dragoons (Lancers) in the famous charge,

Could you imagine these characters appearing in a shampoo commercial? Undertaker, Grell Sutcliff, Prince Soma, Agni, Viscount Drusit, Lizzy Midford, Pluto, Mey Rin, Ran Mao, Hannah Annafellows, Finnian,

Sure! ^^ Especially Grell and Undertaker (and probably Hannah) would be perfect for a hair shampoo commercial with their long healthy hair. XD
