Teddy had an amazing play date today, following right on the heels of acquiring a new friend yesterday. Teddy, top left with the patches, is my childhood teddy but he was given to me by my stepfather, and Teddy had been his bear. This makes Teddy about 75 years old. Today my neighbor’s bear came to visit and he, the white one, was clearly Teddy’s long lost cousin! Their faces are unique (but much of that explained by their treatment and repairs over the years) but were almost identical otherwise. I have never encountered another bear like my Teddy before!
The newest acquisition to my mohair antique bear family is the big bear. He’ll need a lot of repairs but I’m going to call him Philip. That’s Edward with the ribbon. He came for my last birthday.
