It’s happened. I have finally found my “HG” daily foundation products. FINALLY. IT HAS BEEN SUCH A LONG SEARCH.

I used to laugh at that foundation… until I figured out how to use it properly. It NEEDS to be shaken before you use it and honestly I think I apply it best with fingers or a regular foundation brush… not a buffing brush.

That serum is AMAZING. It is literally the *ONLY* product I have ever used that combats my dryness and makes the flakes go away/fills in my pores.

The MST is a really nice moisturizing primer and adds a bit of coverage as well as just a really nice “glow” and it feels like SILK. Like when someone says something feels “silky” i’m like “yeah… okay”… but this shit literally feels like silk. Makes your skin sooo smoooooth.

Yes. What I ostensibly started this blog for in the first place.

I am using the stock photo from Feel Unique but do you really need to see what mine looks like anyway?

I ran out of my Fresh Seaberry oil and tried this one because it seemed like a good idea at the time. I bought this while also Christmas shopping for twelve other people and it just seemed like the safest bet. Prestige products are always intimidating to buy, especially products containing essential oils, since some of those (namely eucalyptus and peppermint) really irritate my skin.

This, as the bottle declares, is made for dry to very dry skin. I have combination dehydrated skin and I cannot tell you what a joy this is to use. It has a different texture than the Fresh oil I’m used to–that one is slightly thicker, more viscous, and took longer to sink in. It also smelled very seabuckthorn-y (I mean, that’s what it actually is) which is pleasant but also made me feel like I was living in a Sierra Club-sponsored polygamist commune or something. It smells weird is what I’m saying.

This Caudalie oil smells faintly of citrus and roses. It has no mineral oils,  sulfates, animal ingredients, parabens, or phthalates. It contains six essential oils, including sunflower, rose, grapeseed, jojoba, and sesame. (The ingredients are listed on the website if you’d like to have a look-see). And it is truly nourishing and restorative. I noticed a couple of whiteheads after the first time I used this but with continual use, my skin has remained clear and soft. I feel like a Parisian beauty editor who sleeps all day and bathes in milk when I use this. Despite it being technically a night oil, I wear it in the day. It also performs well under makeup, provided you aren’t wearing Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk or some high-wattage radiant foundation.

I should state that I only use a couple of drops of this. Retails for $52 at Sephora and online.

Don’t be intimidated by the concept of face oils, even if you have acne-prone skin. Keeping your skin moisturized will help old acne spots to heal faster than drying them out with oil-free stuff.

For the anonymous who asked - these are the products I use: caudalíe vinosource moisturizer, I then apply Elf concealer, then bare minerals complexion rescue tinted moisturizer (I believe I use “ginger” shade), and bobbi brown pot rouge for lips and cheeks (but use it for the cheeks). I use “it brown power”, but just the brush end, to comb the brows. And I occasionally wear mascara - I use Better Than Sex by Too Faced. Hope this helps and thank you! -meg

April Glossy Box

So I haven’t done a post in over a month due to starting a new job and dealing with bits and bobs but now I’m back and ready to review a ton of products.
So when I got home for work yesterday afternoon, I found a nice surprise from what seems a very long wait. For some reason this month has seemed to last forever.
Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst- Quenching Serum - This product smells rather nice, I find it has really hydrated my skin already after one use.  I will keep you update after a weeks use. Inkia Cosmetics - Certified Organic Eyeliner - Well I received 10 Green Lagoon. I rather like the shade.  Recently I have been in a make up rut where I only where blacks and browns. So I’m looking forward to trying out this product.
Monu Professional Skincare - I find this cream a lovely rich cream which has a lovely scent of citrus. Although I found it to be a bit sticky on the skin.
Figs and Rouge - I absolute love this product already! The smell brings back childhood memories of peppermint sweets. I love the texture of the product it doesn't feel heavy of the lips either.
Overall I was impressed with this months Glossybox and I am deffinately going to get my use out of all these products.
