I actually just saw Catching Fire and it really is quite good. Not sure if you’ve seen or heard of Battle Royale, but you should watch it as it’s basically the original Hunger Games.

I’m a Japanese professor, I’m pretty much contractually obligated to have heard of Battle Royale LOL  I think it’s on Netflix, I should check it out (Ive only seen bits and pieces).
