Washington County Railroad at Bradford, VT.

Palmer, Massachusetts in the late 70’s early 80’s when the Boston and Albany line (stretching outwards to the overpass on your left) had double track mainline.

Currently it becomes single track at Palmer. Meanwhile, we see a Vermont Railway piggy back trailer train getting the all clear to cross the diamond.

Someday in the future, the B&A mainline would become single track under Conrail, and the Vermont Railway would soon end up being replaced here by the New England Central.

Someday, Conrail would be no more, being taken over by CSX and Norfolk Southern.

Someday, this place will be double track once again. They need it.
