On Friday we had a little opening shindig for the brand new Vans DQM General Boston. Ray Barbee played some tunes and everyone had a good time. If you live in the Boston area be sure to come by the new store at 174 Newbury Street.
Here’s a quick bit of Vans history for you too… Vans began its journey 49 years ago in Boston. Brothers Paul and Jim Van Doren, along with friend Gordon Lee, worked at Randolph Rubber Company, Boston-based shoemaker and one of the country’s largest in the early 1960’s. It was in 1964 that the trio was challenged to revive the company in California. Two years later, the friends realized a lifetime dream and started to manufacture shoes in their own Anaheim, CA factory, calling their brand the Van Doren Rubber Company.
Earl Sweatshirt & Co. turned up for soundcheck yesterday and hung out with our photographer at House of Vans Boston in the green room during a bit of down time. His set last night was definitely a blast. Look out for those photos later today.
OH MY FUCKING GOD I JUST SAW MATT TAYLOR AND AARON AND WHEN THEY CAME OUT I WAS LIKE GROPING AARON AND THEN HE TOOK MY HAND AND HELD IT FOR LIKE TWO MINUTES AND SMILED AT ME AND IM IN BOTH OF THEIR INSTAGRAM SELFIES AND OMFG IM SO DONE BYE
