vague studios

I respect Jensen so, so much. I’m incredibly proud of this man.

Do you know why?

Because he’s honest with his fans. Because he sees us as people and not as mere paychecks. Because he considers us as a part of his extended family. Because he respects us. Because he won’t lie to us.

When you respect someone, you don’t lie to them. You don’t give them false hope. You don’t make up things to gather attention. You don’t use them to gain popularity. You treat them like they are people, like they matter. Like their feelings matter.

Jensen could have done what Misha does, what other actors do, what other show-runners do. He could have just laughed at the destiel jokes, could have teased fans some, could have amped up the tension. It would have been beneficial for him to do so. He could have kept on playing the hollywood game, like every other actor does.

He could have joked about misogynistic writers, could have talked about unwilling show-runners, could have pointed fingers at the vaguely homophobic studio heads –while giving false hope to the fans. He could have played the long con, could have kept up the will they or won’t they speculation until the last day and last second of the show. It would have been good for the show ratings. It’s what any other actor would have done.

But Jensen, Jensen is not your typical fame-hungry hollywood celebrity now, is he? Jensen respects his fan-base just too much to play with us like that.

He realizes that this ship is important to many people and he refuses to deceive them. He knows that its not gonna happen, and he doesn’t want to take advantage of their feelings, he doesn’t want to queer-bait. He doesn’t want to sell this show as something it is not, to sell his character as someone he is not –he’d rather tell us the truth and face the backlash. Because he cares about his fans.

And what does he gets from this fandom in return?

He gets so much hate from this fandom. He receives threats all over the social media. He gets called all kind of ugly, hateful names. He gets so much hate from the same people who pretend to be his fans. He gets ugly backlash –for treating us as people, as adults. for being honest with us, for being open.

Do you think he enjoys being hated on? Do you think he wants to hurt his fans feelings? No, he doesn’t. No one does. He just has too much integrity that he’d rather choose the right path, even if it is hard, even if it is full of proverbial thorns.

That respect I was talking about? He’s earned it. He has taught me so many life lessons -lessons in hard work, integrity, honesty and love. Not by preaching, but by showing, by example. He makes me so proud of being his fan.

Yeah, I really love and respect this man. I find him truly remarkable.

Belle goes into labor early and Rum has to hurry back from filming to make it in time for his child's birth even if it means breaking a few traffic laws. Bonus points if Mal is involved.

One of the runners was standing off camera waving her arms around, and Gold furrowed his brow as Mal yelled ‘CUT’ and went over to investigate what was going on.

A moment later, Gold knew exactly what was going on when Mal waved him over and the runner thrust his phone into his hands.

“Rum?” Belle’s voice said.

“Baby?”

“Yeah… I’m contracting one in seven and my water just went. I just called a taxi. How quickly can you get here?”

“I’m on my way! I love you, hang in there!” he added before cutting off the call and haring off the set in the direction of the studio entrance, vaguely aware of Mal running after him.

“Rum! Rum, for fuck’s sake, slow down! How are you even going to get there?”

“I’ll grow wings and fly if I have to!” Gold snapped back at her. “Belle’s gone into labour ten days early and I am going to be there for her!”

Mal rolled her eyes, and held up her phone. “Luckily for you, whilst you were talking to Belle, I got you a ride.”

There was a screeching of tires outside the studio and Gold looked out of the main doors to see a very familiar black and white Panther parked up haphazardly across three reserved spaces.

The passenger window slid down and Ella’s voice yelled.

“GET IN LOSER, WE’RE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!”

Gold was too panicked to argue that his impromptu chauffeur might well kill him before they arrived at the hospital and just got in the car, ignoring the crunching of gears and squealing of wheels as they sped off towards the hospital.

“Don’t you think you’re a little bit overdressed for the occasion?” Ella asked. Gold had completely forgotten that he was still in costume and was wearing a tuxedo for this particular scene. Still, it couldn’t be helped. These things happened.

They made it to the hospital in one piece, with Ella careening to a halt in the ambulance bay, although Gold dreaded to think how many laws they’d broken in the meantime; he’d lost count of the speed camera flashes. The nurses gave him a rather strange look as he entered in his finery, but duly took it in their stride and showed him down the corridor to Belle’s room, his heart beating in his mouth all the way.

He wasn’t too late.

I know you work for Rhett and Link but what exactly do you do?

My job title is “Content & Studio Manager” which is 50% super spot on, 50% super vague.

Studio Manager is easy enough - we have a studio where we work and shoot, I keep it in ship shape.

Content Manager is where it gets more fun as it means I “manage’ everything from general channel management type stuff to strategic development to overseeing the Amara captioning team to analytics reporting/analysis and even merchandising development.

Truly a Jane of All Trade type gig and I’d like to think myself a master in progress when it comes to all of them.

I also plan parties!
