Mike Tyson bites the ear of Evander Holyfield as referee Mills Lane tries to separate the two during their heavyweight title fight on June 28, 1997 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Tyson was disqualified from the match and lost his boxing license, though it was later reinstated. Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield is the only four-time world heavyweight champion, winning the WBA, WBC and IBF titles in 1990, the WBA and IBF titles in 1993, as well as the WBA title in 1996 and 2000. Today is his 53rd birthday. (V.J. Lovero for SI)
