Do you ever find yourself feeling overwhelmed by the expectations of the world? if you do, trust me you are not alone! It can be brutal living in a society that places so much pressure on young women. We are expected to look immaculate all the time, be super successful in our fields, eventually raise a perfect family and keep our husband happy all the while not breaking a sweat or having a melt down. This is the pressure that many aspects of the world such as the media and generic stereotypes place on its young women.
This past week has been an absolute eye opener for me. Amid the overwhelming pressure i’ve been feeling of acing my assignments, looking presentable and outwardly trying to look like i’ve got it all together, I was reminded at my church conference on Wednesday night to just stop, and be still.
Psalms 46 v 10 says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God’.
I’m telling you, it was like i had turned off all the noise and expectation of the world and took the time to sit in the loving presence of my Father. The beauty of God is that you can go to Him wherever you are at and He will welcome you with open arms and hold you tight. He does not have the expectations of the world, He loves you in all your circumstances and wont ever think any less of you if you fall short in a test or have a melt down because everything just became too much.
What He does offer is rest for your weary soul. It is so incredibly important to take time out for yourself and rest. Despite what the world expects, you are allowed to take time for yourself and you should! Matthew 11v28-30 says, ‘Come to Me all who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light’.
God is directly saying that you need to take time out and rest. Away from the thoughts of the world, away from your busy schedule and routine. This was super hard for me to realise as i am totally one of those girls who has to be doing something all the time, but its something i needed to learn. In rest, you find release and can really focus in on what God thinks about you rather than let the world choose your worth.
You are His masterpiece.
You are his delight
He is your Peace and Refuge.
He is your Rest and Restorer.
Never forget to take time to remember His love for you in this busy, overwhelming world. I always love to remember the phrase ‘Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine’, His opinion is the only one that truly matters, so rest in that promise that He will be your rest amid all the voices of this world.
These T-55As were fitted with the “thrush” active protection system also called KAZ (kompleks aktivnoj zashchity). About 250 tanks from the Soviet naval infantry adopted this system, but reverted to simpler reactive armor (ERA). These versions also adopted most of the T-55AM modifications, included the R-173 radio set, TShSM-32PV sight, “Tsiklon-M1” stabilizer among others. The AD-1 was upgraded with the new V-46-5M engine from the T-72.
“Lay Lay Lay Lay… Your birthday was a few days ago… It was yesterday. What did you do on your birthday?” 4:23
→ Suho moving so that Yixing could be seen by the camera. 7:33 → Yixing laughing cutely at something Suho said. 8:48 → Suho asking fans to support Lay’s solo.
This was basically an upgrade to the ERA (Explosive Reactive Armor) protection. The “V” stood for Vzryvnoj (or “explosive”). Not all T-55s were upgraded this way, many still kept the standard passive BDD/appliqué armor. The standardized ERA bricks (EDZ for “elementi dinamicheskoj zashchity”) are mounted on the hull, turret front and hull sides. The Elite units of the Soviet Naval Infantry were first to deploy these tanks, followed by the rest of the army in a gradual process after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and extended to previous versions like the T-55AMV (AM) and T-55MV (T-55M). These were also exported, notably to some Iraqi elite republican guards units. The sub-variant V-1 received the V-46-5M engine upgrade.
