Anyone who’s ever wandered the streets of Helsinki on a Sunday looking for a place to eat knows that it can be a bit of a challenge, as not too many places are open on Sundays.
Today our options included either going for brunch in the new Senaatin Hiili in the Kluuvi shopping center or going to lunch in Bar 9 on Uudenmaankatu, a familiar place that I visit weekly. However, as Senaatin Hiili had received so crushing reviews (one guy actually writes in his review that he cannot really comment on the food because it never arrived - priceless!!) we decided to go to Bar 9.
Bar 9, a Helsinki landmark, is a casual bar and restaurant that is known for their reasonably priced pasta and wok dishes. Their chicken coriander wok and Pollo Limonello pasta (a chicken pasta with a lemon and yogurt sauce) are probably my all time favorites, but this time I decided to try their grilled chicken with vegetables, basmati rice and peanut sauce. As usual, the food wasn’t spectacular but good enough. :)
A great feature about Bar 9 is that they serve breakfast throughout the day and they have exhibitions that change quite frequently. The place can get a bit crowded especially during the evenings and lunch hour, but you can wait for a free table at the bar while studying the menu over a drink.
#forenom at Uudenmaankatu 13. Please, give a breskfast to nbe blogger. Yesterday when I come back to my #appartment your #staff had taken off all profucts from #fridge that I left there. So today I couldn’t have #breakfast nor #tea. I should drink only hot #water for breakfast like in a bad #hungry second world war times. I was hungry, had stomach ache of hungry, dizziness and bad #mood and feeling myself. Please, bring products for breakfast today. @forenomnordic by oksa_sun http://ift.tt/1OyAZor
