Trump ends "Let Girls Learn" while Melania and Ivanka still pretend women’s education is important.

Ivanka Trump’s twitter bio:

Ivanka Trump last October at the Newseum:

“Education is a very personal thing for me.  As I tell girls whenever I meet them, I wouldn’t be here, sitting here not just in this chair but in the life that I have, if it weren’t for my education.”

Melania Trump at the State Department in March:

I continue to firmly believe that education is the most powerful way to promote and ensure women’s rights. Together we will do this not only by striving for gender parity at all levels of education, but also by showing all children, and especially boys, that it is through empathy, respect and kindness that we achieve our collective potential.

The White House today:

The Trump administration is discontinuing a signature girls education initiative championed by former first lady Michelle Obama, according to officials.

The “Let Girls Learn” program, which she and President Barack Obama started in 2015 to facilitate educational opportunities for adolescent girls in developing countries, will cease operation immediately, according to an internal document obtained by CNN.

While aspects of the initiative’s programming will continue, employees have been told to stop using the “Let Girls Learn” name and were told that, as a program unto itself, “Let Girls Learn” was ending.

What is/are your favourite things/s about Gerard?

omg honestly the list is so long but okay. the fact that hes kind and lovely to people and hes always humble and never acts like hes better than others or like hes a big deal although he kinda is. the fact that hes genuine and believes in what he does. the fact that he never does whats expected of him but what he wants to do no matter what (bc some artists just get comfortable doing what they know their fans love and they end up never evolving past that and its kind of pretentious and frankly, lazy) the fact that he loves Lindsey and Bandit SO MUCH and its so pure and i love how dedicated he is to them. the fact that he has principles and values and morals and he doesnt go against them for money or fame or approval from anyone. the way he writes whether its music or comics or a blog entry or a tweet, i just love the way he has with words and i wish i could express myself that well. his sense of humor! the fact that he doesnt give a fuck really but at the same time he cares so much about whats important and the people who are important to him. the fact that hes so perceptive and can read you like a book (that used to intimidate me so much but i got over it). the fact that he fulfilled his dream and not just by writing comics and making music but by marrying the woman he loves and starting a family with her especially considering that back in 2004 he legit thought he was gonna die and even made peace with dying bc he didnt want to live anymore but he overcame all that and overcame so much more even after. the fact that he stayed positive for us fans esp after the MCR break-up bc he wanted us to keep going and see the band as something positive that would carry on forever through their legacy and he did so much to make sure we understood (and so many didnt and that makes me sad) even though he was having a really rough time before, during, and after. the fact that he learns from his mistakes. i like how weird he is. the fact that he constantly encourages us to be better but not in a ‘im so special’ way but in a ‘i accept my flaws but im not gonna let them stop me’ kinda way. i love that he appreciates everyone he works with and thanks them and acknowledges them constantly and introduces us fans to new creators.

im sure i could keep going but i have to make lunch so lol

This is ridiculous. I mean kudos to Matt for apologizing when he thinks he has done something wrong, but it’s so absurd! Social media is getting ridiculous. People having to apologize for everything because there are always people overanalysing everything famous people write. Of course they will always find something to criticize and something they think they have to apologize about! Because no-one is perfect. This will happen again and again.

But shouldn’t people differenciate between comments made with malice and comments made with good intentions without knowing the implications they could have?

He made a joke about that demon and Clary becoming boyfriends, turns out that demon is sent by a warlock to put a baby on Clary, and we don’t know how that was going to happen, by magic or what. First, if you don’t like that storyline (I don’t) blame the writers, not the actors. Second, Matt hadn’t seen the episode yet, the actors watch the episodes at the same time we do, he couldn’t know that scene would look so weird and the implications it could have.

Kat retweeted that same tweet and no-one is criticizing her. Other actors made jokes about that scene AFTER having watched it and no-one is even mentioning it. Because this is never about what is right or wrong, it’s about Matt haters looking for stuff to criticize him, because there is literally nothing else to critize (that guy has one of the purest souls I’ve ever met). And THAT is what is made with malice, towards a real person and the people who care about him. So haters, people who act with bad intentions live happily, while good people like Matt (and Harry and Alberto who have gone through the same… basically every person on the Internet, because like I said overanalysing affects everyone) have to suffer.

Because haters don’t care about apologies. When Matt wrote a tweet showing his worry over Brexit using his typical sarcarsm, haters used it too. Everyone with even just half a brain understood it was sarcasm and Matt was sad and preocupied about the situation, but still he had to explain it and apologize. Well, to this day there are still haters using that to hate on him, because they have nothing else. Well, congratulations, now you have 2 tweets as an excuse for your hate towards another human being. What a great goal in life these people have.

Hello fellow SuperCorp shippers,

please hear us out.
We need to keep things reasonable - when it comes to trends and ship wars.
Right now SuperCorp is nowhere near canon (subtext is good and well, but for show runners it doesn’t count). We need to stay away from all the hate and from allowing the others to bait us or for us to bait them.
Hate has destroyed many fandoms before. We really shouldn’t let it happen again.

That said - getting SuperCorp to trend at this point could backfire spectacularly. If a ship (that might be unwanted by the show runners) becomes bigger than the show they will act - but chances are not in the way we would want to.
It could mean they will change Lena’s arc and she will go full blown evil to ruin any chance of SuperCorp anything or even worse - at some point they could decide to get rid of a character.
The CW has proven in the past that they don’t care if the most loved, the best character of the show, is the one who gets taken out and we don’t want history to repeat itself, now do we?

Let’s stick with supporting Katie McGrath and showing the people in charge of SG that Lena Luthor is appreciated, loved, wanted and needed to keep the show going for now.

Reading the twitter guidelines we found out that tweeting hashtags is in fact the most effective.

But simply tweeting and retweeting the same hashtag over and over doesn’t get us anywhere. You have to provide a proper message with the hashtag in every single tweet.
Also important: only use ONE hashtag per tweet.
So let’s tweet the hell out of it - because the hiatus will be over and Lena Luthor will be back.

Thank you!

TRANSLATION: JOKER GAME 2ND YEAR D-CLASS, SAKUMA-SENSEI RETURNS!! PART 1

Hello.

I’m back to shitpost on the Joker Game tag. lol jk

This drama CD is all the weird things the fans wanted, I guess. ww

Warning: VERY LONG. As in 4789 words long. TN notes at the bottom. I’ll update this post once I’ve translated the other tracks.

Text inside 「these」means that Odagiri is talking via LINE, and italicized text inside asterisks like * these * means that it’s the characters’ thoughts.

Well then, let’s jump into the madness after the cut!

No words anymore, but one thing I'd like to have your thoughts. How could there ever be a reveal of SC after this? How would that look like, how would ppl. react? In the current situation not possible for me. Sam would get the shit of his life. Thanks.

How? Because Sam keeps his hands clean enough by never actually acknowledging or claiming this chick on social media or in interviews. They both hint and post suggestive innuendo, but they haven’t taken the ultimate plunge and owned it. It’s the same thing with Caitriona. She brings Tony everywhere, but he doesn’t pose with her and he just chills in the background so if push came to shove, they’re just friends. And beyond us, who is paying attention? No one cares about them, they’re not big celebrities. That’s not a diss, that’s just fact.

That being said, there is no reveal coming for SC in my opinion. I’ll be interested to see how Sam acts on Thursday. My guess is one tweet to acknowledge her and that’s it. What an absolute shitshow yet again before events coming up for both of them. 😒

Bob Corker unloads on Trump in CNN interview, saying he'll be remembered most for 'the debasement of our nation'
Republican Sen. Bob Corker unleashed on President Donald Trump after the president criticized and demeaned him on Twitter on Tuesday morning.
By Eliza Relman

Eliza Relman at Business Insider:

Republican Sen. Bob Corker unleashed on President Donald Trump after the president criticized and demeaned him on Twitter on Tuesday morning, telling CNN that there is “no way” he would support the president again in an election.

“I think the debasing of our nation, the constant non-truth telling, the name-calling — I think the debasement of our nation is what he will be remembered most for,” Corker told CNN of Trump.

Trump lashed out at Corker shortly after the powerful Tennessee lawmaker criticized the White House’s involvement in Congress’ tax reform efforts in a morning TV interview.

“Bob Corker, who helped President O give us the bad Iran Deal & couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Tennessee, is now fighting Tax Cuts,” Trump wrote on Tuesday morning. “Corker dropped out of the race in Tennesse when I refused to endorse him, and now is only negative on anything Trump. Look at his record!”

Corker responded to the president on Twitter, writing, “Same untruths from an utterly untruthful president #AlertTheDaycareStaff.”

The senator was referring to a tweet he wrote earlier this month calling the White House an “adult day care center.” Corker has also said recently that the president is pushing the country towards “World War III.”

Bob Corker is on the side of truth here, not our deranged toddler “President.”

I want your opinion on something...I've been thinking abt this post I saw abt zerrie being fake because to believe it is to make gross demeaning generalizations about zayn and his character. aside from which relationship is real, don't you think there's some idolizing there? Zayn is just as susceptible to make a bad decision/be clitmitized (to be blunt). I definitely want to to believe he's better than that but I've also been around desi boys my whole life, lol (U can publish this if you want)

Hey Chooch! I will publish because this is actually a good question that should be publicly discussed. Yeah, Zayn has his share of stans and he can do no wrong as far as they’re concerned. But for me, I don’t believe Zayn is a good guy just because he’s hot and talented (he is tho) or because Zayn and Liam are hot together (they are tho).

For me, the entire Zerrie narrative is very suspicious. It doesn’t line up with who Zayn has shown us he is. The Zayn who infrequently and grudgingly speaks about Perrie is not the same Zayn that tweeted about love and longing.

Btw, if memory serves, he’d only just met Perrie a couple of weeks prior to these tweets. So I doubt he was madly in love with her at this point.

And Perrie’s Zayn is supposed to be some super private guy and that explains away why he shows so little enthusiasm for her publicly. But that’s not the Zayn we’ve seen either.

He publicly loves:

He publicly lusts:

He’s publicly loyal:

He publicly flirts:

He publicly fonds:

He’s publicly caring and concerned:

But of course he’s not perfect. Just ask Liam.

Btw, look at Liam’s face in the last two gifs. That’s the face of a man who’s experience that firsthand–multiple times. LOL Hmmm…he probably has a bit of a temper. Hey, he’s a passionate guy. You could never tell by looking at Zerrie alone though. What else Liam?

Oh ok. Sounds like a truly three dimensional guy with layers to his personality. Again, you could never tell by looking at Zerrie alone.

So basically I believe all of the above accurately represents who Zayn is: a caring, loyal, passionate guy who loves hard. This is not the same Zayn sold to us by the farce that is Zerrie.

I don’t believe Zayn is the guy who’d betray the person he loves for incredibly random ass:

I don’t believe Zayn is the guy who’d be incredibly blasé about being newly engaged.

Can’t quite recall planning your proposal or who you discussed it with:

Congrats on the engagement:

Just letting Liam throw shade at his happiness unchecked:

He never needed anybody to tell him when to kiss Liam:

And I don’t think Mr. Lovestruck is the kinda guy to bring a camera crew on a romantic vacation:

And compare and contrast Perrie’s words about Zayn with Liam’s:

Enough said.

For me it’s not about idolization at all. It’s just about what I’ve seen and heard for myself from Zayn over the years. If I’d seen and heard him being a douchebag, I’d believe he’s a douchebag. But I haven’t. I think he’s a good man. Specifically I think he’s a good man that has shown and proven he loves Liam Payne.

Zayn’s Perrie is not a good man. He hasn’t shown or proven his love for her, imo. It doesn’t add up. There’s some deception happening here and logically it seems to be coming from the patchwork fauxmance that is Zerrie. Because again, what I’ve seen and heard tells me he’s a kind, decent, loving person. If he really loved her, we’d know it.

Also, I think you can only judge people’s character on a person by person basis. I wouldn’t assume anything because of the environment or culture they come out of. I’m not Desi, but I’m black and Hispanic and I know the macho vagina slaying reputations black and Hispanic men have attached to them. But lemme tell ya, I’ve grown up surrounded by the most faithful, sensitive and compassionate men that totally defy that stereotype. So when it comes to Zayn, believe what he’s shown you and fuck the rest.

anonymous asked:

how do you feel about the people in this fandom that say lauren only liked cause of her looks? do you think there jealous?

I tell them to stop being superficial shallow people and only focus on seeing what’s on the outside I mean i get it Lauren Jauregui is a godess , she’s gorgeous with amazing natural beauty , amazing eyes and fantastic body

But she’s also very kind and sweet person with her fans (some of the things that got cought on camera , most of the stuff she does or says to her fans , they only tweet or tell us about them which tells you alot  and shows you how much she really care about every single fan)

she’s a compassionate person (she may seem like she has this wall in front of her but when you get to know her you just know that that’s bc of how much heartbreak and misery & disappointment she’s been through in the past (but she’s strong now and she’s finding who she is and the beautiful thing is that she’s guiding her fans to do the same thing along the road with her )

They’re all are honestly but you asked about lauren so ^.^

she’s inspirational and she tries to  change and speak her mind and help people even if she gets hate for it which shows courage and bravery

Smart

No matter what or who you believe in, I can guarantee you one similarity. The God that you trust in your darkest times is benevolent. He is merciful and loving. And if he made us in his image and likeness I can promise you that that is exactly what he expects of us. Mercy and love. Towards one another, towards ourselves, towards the natural world around us. No matter the race, no matter the gender, no matter the height, the figure; that image, that being, that energy, whatever it is you believe, is good. So please please please be good to each other. Even if you have your off days (because no one is perfect in any way and you will have your off days) always let that goodness shine through. No matter what anyone tells you.”-Lauren Jauregui

“you’re worth so much. Despite the fact that I know a lot of you have been through a lot, I want you to know and always remember that you are loved and that you can make it through. No person or thing hurting you is worth hurting yourself. You are beautiful and you are loved and you are above it all, and don’t you ever let anyone tell you otherwise.”-Lauren Jauregui

Sweet

“they’re just a very enthusiastic, dedicated set of people who are beautiful and amazing and who we love very, very much and who are our support system”-Lauren jauregui

She’s funny & playful

genuine & Honest

Animal Lover

amazing friend

Brave and not afraid to speak her mind

back to her being an amazing friend

there’s So much qualities about lolo and good things that she’s done for her sisters and for her fans but i gave you the ones that matter the most :)

So Yeah She’s Much much more than just  a “Pretty face”

She’s a role model a friend and an amazing person and anyone who says different , you’ll automatically know that that person knows nothing about her

She’s really something special :)

Speaking if Destiel with real care for the characters does NOT make any fan a Supernatural hater or villain. Just stop.

It may be more prudent to avoid bombarding Jensen with any type of ship stuff just because his responses generate a lot of wank. It’s more about keeping peace in the fandom to me than protecting a special little snowflake. He’s a grown man who can take care of himself and he’s really not likely to tweet much anyway. But my caution? It’s about keeping peace in the fandom rather than him directly.

Do not use Jensen’s presence on twitter as an excuse to bully or ship shame. Just use your common sense. I already see a lot of Destiel shaming going on and it’s absolutely ridiculous. Being cautious about an actor is nothing remotely the same as shaming an entire portion of a fan community. Don’t do that. Come on. Be adults.

Honestly, all through out this Eliza and maybe Alycia have been the ones who haven't let us down one way or the others, that's why I'm scared every time they talk in an interview or tweet they are going to stain their perfect track record. But Eliza only makes it better every time she speaks, she's a pro

I feel the exact same way. I trust Eliza slightly more because… she’s such… an ally

Fandom

Something has been on my mind as of late that I’d like to share. It’s about fandom and its relevance. Fandom is not a new concept. It’s been around in some incarnation or another for ages. In this instance, I’m referring to television fandom.

You’ll often hear people refer to what is known as the fourth wall. The fourth wall may have its origins in theater, but it applies, nonetheless, to interactions between those behind the scenes, characters and or its actors and their fans and or audience.

There seems to be a sizeable disconnect for some behind the scenes as to how important fandom is to their continued success. Many of “them” – also known as The Powers That Be – believe that fandom is just a bunch of zealot weirdoes with too much time on their hands and an exorbitant sense of entitlement about how a show should run or tell its story. These people believe that we should be happy enough to be getting the product that they’re churning out. They believe that we should be complacent and content; that our voice and opinions matter little if at all.

They’re wrong.

The wonderful people who are part of any television fandom are passionate and attentive. We are creative and contemplative. Some of us are boisterous and messy while others are quiet and prefer staying on the outskirts, only occasionally jumping in for a dip before retreating once again to the sidelines. We are astute and aware. Those who have the time and ability to create fanart, videos, fan fiction and the like do so because of all of the wonderful attributes I’ve listed. It highlights the passion and creativity that resides in each of us.

Do we feel a bit entitled to certain aspects of the creation process of our favorite shows? Absolutely. Is it deserved? Absolutely. The majority of us aren’t asking for full length outlines of a season or a rundown of our favorite actor’s meals, hobbies, likes and dislikes. We aren’t asking for a tell-all on the ins and outs of production. We’re simply asking to be acknowledge by the people who we’ve invested our time in – be it actor, writer, producer, etc. The reason we ask for anything is to keep ourselves invested in whatever it is we’re watching.

Something these certain people with “power” seem to forget is this: the iron thrones that they sit in have been built and maintained by fandom. So many shows have been on the brink of extinction, only to be rescued by the very people that TPTB constantly look down their noses at. Arrested Development, Chuck, The Office… Sleepy Hollow and so many others have been granted stays of execution or redistribution to other locations/networks, because the people in their fandoms WOULD. NOT. QUIT.

We petitioned, tweeted, emailed, sent care packages and trended. We’ve linked with major companies like Subway. We’ve virtually bayed at the moon to get our shows, the things we love, to stay just a little bit longer. We watch live or DVR when life doesn’t allow us to. We get other people to do the same. It’s our passion and intensity; it’s our eyeballs and television subscriptions that pay your checks. Advertisers give money for eyeballs. Alienating, being condescending to and ignoring those who have been and still could be your viewers is the dumbest possible thing you could do.

The successful shows, the ones who have survived awful writing, character deaths, low ratings, switched networks and still managed to hang tough and stay on the air? They’re the ones whose producers, writers, actors and the like ENGAGE with their fanbase. They’re the ones who have no problem interacting with their fans. They don’t have to “try”. They just do it and their shows are the better for it.

It’s time to stop treating fandom and the fans therein as annoying second class citizens and start treating us as valuable members of your production family. Start treating us like the assets we are. And remember something important: at the end of the day, we’re the ones who help guarantee your iron thrones and your paychecks.

i honestly feel a bit of distain for the popular black men on twitter who only talk about mike brown, eric garner and other male victims of police brutality, but never show the same passion for black women (especially not trans black women), murdered by police

whenever i see their tweets on my dash i feel a little annoyed. black men dont fight for black women. they dont care about us
