use me to make yourself feel better

anonymous asked:

hey love! sorry to bother you but i need advice. so lately ive been having trouble with like "grounding" myself, cause its really easy for me to get out of my body but then when i get back i feel weird, like im not entirely here, you know? do you have any advice on how i can control that better?

bonjour, angel! ~ it’s always difficult having to “come back” to yourself, isn’t it? luckily, there are a few things you may want to try in hopes of making it all easier! “centering” is a really effective meditation/visualization method used by a lot of people, usually for when they need to clear their heads and take a moment to set themselves right again. keep in mind that this may not be the best practice for those who tend to dissociate (but for some, it does help - just trust your gut!) the practice of grounding and centering can be found here, explained in-depth :-)

another thing that may help bring you back is to state loud and clear that you exist. take a moment alone to get comfortable and stand your own ground - announce, “i am here. i am real. i feel strong emotions, i live day-by-day; i am my own person, and a very real one, at that” - or something along those lines. breathe deep. let yourself be centered; connected to the ground, the Earth. tell yourself that things are okay, that they will continue to be okay, and that you are strong and alive. 💕

lastly, try taking some time to reconnect with the Earth. this in turn will help you reconnect to yourself. walk through the grass, feeling the soft texture. hold your arms above your head, embracing the sun. take the deepest breath you can, inhaling fresh air and letting that make you feel fresh and new, too. you are here, you are real, you are a part of everything.

take care my dear! hoping that my advice proves beneficial.

small and easy health tips that make a lot of difference
  • wash your face every night - washcloth, warm water, and a simple cleanser will do wonders. plus, warm water helps make you all sleepy for bed
  • take a multivitamin every day - and keep an eye open for coupons for them. usually multivitamins have some pretty great coupons
  • if you can, open the windows every once in a while. fresh air does a lot of good for your body (and state of mind)!
  • keep a few cleaning supplies in the bathroom. every so often after having a shower, give things a quick wipe-down. the steam from the shower dislodges any sink guck, making the job much easier - and never underestimate the power of a clean bathroom for both physical and mental health
  • keep a water bottle by the bed and drink some water when you wake up. it’ll help you greet the day a little easier, and plus - whose mouth ISN’T as dry as the sahara when they wake up?
  • it’s not always easy, but try to make doing dishes before turning in for the night a habit. i can’t express how lovely it is to wake up and walk into a clean and tidy kitchen
  • keep snacks in the fridge that are delicious and healthy - my faves are strawberries, cherry tomatoes, and grapes. i love snacks. plus, there’s not really much prep involved with those kinds of things
  • sweep! sweeping takes up a bit more physical energy, but it’s become one of my favourite things to do. i put on some nice music and visualize sweeping out not only dirt, but anything else clouding up my space - negative energy, self doubt, etc. it’s a nice, witchy little ritual for me now.
  • light a candle, specifically one that smells delicious
  • identify the things that make you feel better about yourself and your surroundings and prioritize them and only them when you’re feeling sucky. that way, you still feel accomplished, but you aren’t using up all your mental and physical energy trying to run through all your tasks/cleaning/etc
  • remember that you’re doing these things for you, and not anyone else. you deserve to feel happy and at ease!
i love you. [delete]
did you ever love me? [delete]
was i just somebody you used to make you feel better about yourself? [delete]
well, here’s me making you feel better about yourself: you’re the most amazing person i’ve ever met in my life. nobody could ever take your place. i love you more than words can say. [delete]
yeah, you fucked me over, but i still think you’re great. i don’t know if that says more about me or more about you. i don’t know if that makes me pathetic or kindhearted. i always saw the good in you. [delete]
i know i didn’t always act like you were important to me. i’m sorry for that. i’m sorry i didn’t shove it down your throat every day, tell you that you were worth everything to me; i’m sorry i held your mistakes against you so much. i’m sorry i didn’t realize you were struggling too. [delete]
you’re still the first person i want to tell anything to. like did you hear who our ex-friend is hooking up with? did you see that facebook status? did you see that car crash on route 29? did you know there are more microbes on your body than people on earth? [delete]
i know i said leave but i really meant i’ll be waiting for you to come back. my friends say it’s not permanent; i can go back whenever i want to. i know i can but i left for a reason. it hurts so much that you don’t want me. [delete]
i keep thinking i can convince you to choose me. who wouldn’t want someone who loves them this much? i want to shower you with compliments just so you realize what you lost. [delete]
but i also want you to know you’re special. i want you to know somebody loves you, even if they’re far away. i want you to know how you lifted my spirits by just existing. [delete]
but then i think: where’s my “i love you”? where’s my “thank you for existing”? where’s my “you’re special” and “i appreciate you” and “you’re important to me”? why am i always the one trying to make this work? why don’t you value me? [delete]
you told me you’d always answer my text messages, probably even in your sleep. i can’t believe someone so goddamn beautiful could do such ugly things. [delete]

How to Cope with Jealous Feelings

1. Understand what jealousy is. It’s a mixture of fear and anger – usually the fear of losing someone who’s important to you, and anger at the person who is “taking over”. Recognise that it’s a destructive and negative emotion - and often nothing good comes out of it.

2. Try and figure out why you’re feeling jealous. Is it related to some past failure that is undermining your ability to trust? Are you feeling anxious and insecure? Do you suffer from low self-esteem, or fear of abandonment?

3. Be honest with yourself about how your jealousy affects other people. Do friends or partners always have to justify their actions and thoughts, or always report on where they were, or who they were with? That kind of pressure is destructive in the end, and puts a strain on relationships.

4. Find the courage to tackle your feelings. Decide to question your jealousy every time it surfaces. That will enable you to take positive steps to manage your feelings in a healthier and more constructive way. Some possible questionsto ask yourself include: “Why am I jealous about this?”; “What exactly is making me feel jealous?”; “What or who am I afraid of losing?”; “Why do I feel so threatened?”

5. Work on changing any false beliefs that might be fueling your jealousy. Start this process by identifying the underlying belief, for example “If X leaves me, then I won’t have any friends”; “If Y doesn’t love me then no-one will ever want or love me”. Understand, that beliefs are often false – and that they can be changed through choice. If you change your belief, you change the way you feel.

6. Learn from your jealousy. Jealousy can help understand ourselves better – and teach us important lessons. For example, it’s natural to feel frightened when a relationship is new, and you don’t yet feel secure. This is normal and commonplace! Also, some people DO have a roving eye, and they may lack commitment in the longer term. Better you know that now, than later on.

7. Work on accepting and trusting yourself. That makes it easier to trust others, too, and lessens our tendency to feel jealous of others.

Task: Exposed

Target Time: 30 Minutes

Goal: Intense edging & gaining comfort being naked.

Strip naked.

Set a timer for 30 minutes.

Lie on the floor or somewhere you wouldn’t normally masturbate at.

Spread your legs and keep your hands at your sides.

Breathe. Pay attention to your exposed body and feelings. Are you cold? Are you uncomfortable? Are you aroused being totally exposed? Does this bring back memories? Do you wish you could be on display for someone else? Do you feel yourself getting wet?

Lightly touch yourself & continue paying attention to what’s in your mind & body. Nothing else matters.

Once you’re comfortable, or even aroused (slut), remove your hands. Let your mind wander. Engage with your body & feelings. You don’t get any pleasure yet. Not until I say so.

Lie totally still, your exposed pussy to the world, for 10 minutes. I know it’s hard. It’s supposed to be. I know you’re beginning to feel that buildup, the angst from not being able to touch yourself. You’ll get the opportunity. If you do what I say.

Once 15 minutes have passed from the beginning of this task, put one hand between your legs, however you most enjoy being touched (maximum of 2 fingers inside yourself): lightly rubbing your clit side to side, making a “come hither” motion across your g-spot, maybe even a knuckle or two deep in your ass.. Enjoy.

For 5 minutes only.

Here’s where it gets hard.

Put the other hand behind your back. That’s not yours to use for the rest of this task. Continue your touching, only much harder this time. Feel your juices flow, feel your breathing pick up, feel your pussy contract around your finger(s), feel the ache, the yearning start to build.

Feel yourself getting close? Do you you? Good girl.

Can you come? OF COURSE NOT, GIRL!

You get exactly two minutes of this (since you’ve obeyed my instructions perfectly). Then stop. Pull your fingers out, put your hand behind your back along with your other, breathe. Feel the frustration. Learn to love it. It only makes things better (for me of course).

After you’ve calmed down for two minutes, repeat. Three times.

If you can (you better be able to by now), take yourself over the edge. Feel the writhing, feel the contractions from your toes to your jaws, feel the heat rush through your body. Feel the pleasure. Don’t be silent. Let it out.

Once you’ve come for me, arms behind your back again. I never told you to put your clothes back on. If you thought about it, lie like that for an extra 10 minutes.

Reflect.

===================

What did you think about this? What went through your head as you were finally permitted release? What kind of task do you crave next?

So often we try to make other people feel better by minimizing their pain, by telling them that it will get better (which it will) or that there are worse things in the world (which there are). But that’s not what I actually needed. What I actually needed was for someone to tell me that it hurt because it mattered.
I have found this very useful to think about over the years, and I find that it is a lot easier and more bearable to be sad when you aren’t constantly berating yourself for being sad.

6 Motivation Tips for College

As we all know (or have heard), college is a seriously hands-on-deck, time consuming experience, no matter what you study. That’s not to say that it’s all stress-inducing, all the time, but it requires a different kind of time management and focus than what you’re used to in high school. The difficulty of it all can sometimes be a little overwhelming/disheartening, which is why it is always important to find different ways to stay motivated and on-task. Here are some of the ways I keep myself going when I’m so close to quitting:

1. Picture the end-game: this is a classic. Whenever I’ve studied so much that I’m close to tears, I remember my goals. Short-term first, then long-term. I think, “Okay, no, you can’t give up because you told yourself at the beginning of this semester that you wanted all A’s. You have to keep going for those A’s.” and afterwards I follow it up with, “And why is it that you want those A’s? Because you want to get into a kickass med school!”

2. Think about others/build expectations: sometimes, just thinking about yourself isn’t enough. I have my slacker periods when I think “So what if I don’t do well in this test? I’ve done well enough in others”, or “I’ll do better in the next one”. I try to remember that I’m trying to build a relationship with the professor during this class; it gives me an extra ‘oomph’. I may exaggerate that relationship sometimes, but it helps to think that the professor is used to work of high caliber from you, and that he/she expects you to do well. This one works well for me because I don’t like disappointing people, and I take meeting expectations as a personal challenge.

3. Be competitivewith yourself: don’t, I repeat, don’t compare yourself to others. You get nothing out of it. If there’s something you learn from the studyblr community, it’s that everybody learns and executes in a different way. Personally I’ve found that competition in classrooms does not motivate me, because it’ll just end up making me feel bad whether I do better or worse than others. But competing against myself? Much better. I try to push myself to do a little better than I did last time, or start revising a little earlier for the next test. When I compare my new results with older ones, it’s a learning experience even if I don’t do better. It helps me understand myself and my needs a little more.

4. Take a break: when people tell you that you can’t stop or you won’t get everything done? THAT IS A LIE. A breather is necessary as heck!!! If you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious, you won’t learn as well or be as productive than if you’re dedicated to your work. Sometimes I’m okay with just a few minutes of closing my eyes and listening to a favorite piece of music, other times I need something a little longer like a 20-minute episode of The Office. I try not to let it extend much more than that though, because from personal experience, the longer you put off starting up again, the harder it gets.

  • Pro tip: I’ve been talking to first year medical students recently to get advice for next August (for those of you who don’t know, I’ll be beginning my medical studies then), and one of them told me, “Listen. Everyone has their relaxation thing. I love hanging out and being with people, and sometimes I’m so fixated on the fact that I can’t go out and have fun with my friends because I’m stuck studying that I throw 3 hours away just staring at my book. I’ve learned that it’s better to just get that thing you want to do out of the way, and then go back and study. You’ll be happier and feel a lot better than you did before.” (WITH DISCRETION, OBVIOUSLY)

5. Stationery: ah, yes, like most of you, I am obsessed. Sometimes all it takes is just finding the perfect pen and paper for what I have in mind to keep myself going.

6. Get involved in the studyblr community: at first, just observing to get ideas about things you want to try is enough to give you an extra boost of motivation, but when you feel like you’re starting to slack off again, try getting involved. Try posting some of your own revision notes or stationery pics! Honestly this community is one of the most warm and welcoming ones out there, and it is super inspiring to get notes and messages from people all over the world who encourage you to run that extra mile, do that extra work to reach your goals.

I hope this serves as useful, and good luck studying to each and everyone of you. Aim high and keep going!

💗30 Days of Self Love 💗

This is a 30 day challenge meant to help people improve their self-esteem and learn to love and appreciate themselves a little bit more! You can start this challenge whenever you want, completing each day in the order listed or in whatever order you prefer. If any day is too uncomfortable to complete you can feel free to skip it and come back to it later or just skip it entirely.

If you choose to do this challenge please tag your posts with #30DaySelfLoveChallenge or #30 Day Self Love Challenge so everyone else who is doing it can view all the responses!

💗 Day 01: On a scale from 1-10 (with 1 being “horrible, can’t possibly be any worse” and 10 being “wonderful, can’t possibly be any better”), how would you rate your self-esteem right now? Why would you rate it that way?

💗 Day 02: List out at least 5 accomplishments or achievements you’ve made that you are proud of. These can be small or large, recent or made further back.

💗 Day 03: List out at least 5 non-physical things you like about yourself. These can be personality traits, talents, things you’ve done for other people, etc.

💗 Day 04: List out at least 5 physical things you like about yourself.

💗 Day 05: People are often kinder to others than they are to themselves, so imagine yourself from the perspective of a loved one. If you were your own best friend, what would your outside impression of yourself be?

💗 Day 06: Think of how old you were when you first started struggling with your self-esteem and write a letter of encouragement to your younger self.

💗 Day 07: List out at least 5 compliments people have given you. These can be compliments from people IRL or online and they can be about anything.

💗 Day 08: List out at least 5 good things that have happened recently. These can be things that have happened to you or to someone else or even just good stories you’ve heard in the news.

💗 Day 09: When your emotions get to be too much, what are some healthy things you can do to ground you and help you calm down? List out as many as you can think of.

💗 Day 10: Imagine you have a loved one who is on a long voyage (to sea, outer space, wherever) and misses you desperately. What would they write in a letter to you? What would they miss about you? Write a love letter to yourself.

💗 Day 11: List out at least 5 quotes that inspire you or make you feel happy.

💗 Day 12: List out at least 5 songs that make you happy when you listen to them.

💗 Day 13: Imagine the perfect day. What does it look like for you? Describe the weather, where you’re at, what you’re doing, who (if anyone) you’re with, and how it all makes you feel.

💗 Day 14: Many people have a problem with comparing themselves negatively to others. Take a moment to truly acknowledge the progress you have made in life without comparing that progress to anyone else. How have you become a better person? What hobbies do you have that you’ve improved at? What other areas of your life (no matter how small) have you gotten better in? List out as many examples as you can think of.

💗 Day 15: Being positive towards others can often help people be positive about themselves, so take some time and send anonymous positive messages to at least 10 people. These can be compliments or just a “hope you have a good day!”, to people you follow or just random people in tags you track. Look at how these people react to your messages and describe how it makes you feel.

💗 Day 16: List out at least 5 fictional characters you admire or connect with and describe what it is you admire about them.

💗 Day 17: What is your favorite positive interest or hobby? Describe how you first got into it and what you like about it.

💗 Day 18: List out at least 5 “I will ___” statements that you can apply to your day-to-day life in order to be more positive (example: I will believe people when they compliment me, I will ignore the voice in my head that tells me to doubt myself, etc.).

💗 Day 19: List out at least 5 coping statements. Coping statements are statements you use in order to feel better about yourself/your current state (example: I’m going to be okay, My feelings are difficult but I can handle them, I will survive this situation, etc).

💗 Day 20: Go outside. Use all your senses to observe your environment and identify things around you that you like, that make you feel calm or happy. Describe what those things are, what you see/hear/feel/smell that makes you feel calm or happy.

💗 Day 21: Everyone makes mistakes. What defines people is not that they have made mistakes but that they have learned from them and made an effort to do better in the future. List out at least 1 mistake you have made (using however much or little detail as you feel comfortable with) and describe how you have learned from it and grown as a person after making it.

💗 Day 22: List out at least 5 good deeds you have done for other people. These can be small things or large ones and can be as simple as something nice you’ve done for/said to someone rather than an actual favor.

💗 Day 23: List out at least 5 things that make you laugh. These can be jokes, movies, youtube videos or anything else.

💗 Day 24: What are you insecure about? Divide these things into two lists: things you can change and things you can’t. Now imagine that someone else has made this list. What advice or words of support would you give them about their insecurities?

💗 Day 25: What bad habits do you have? Make a list of them sorted by the ones you think will be easiest to break to the hardest. Beside of each bad habit write out things you can do in order to improve on them or ideas for more positive things you can do as alternatives to whatever the bad habit is.

💗 Day 26: What good habits do you have? What things do you already do that are positive and healthy and how did you come to start doing them? What advice would you give to people who struggle with those things?

💗 Day 27: Imagine your ideal self, focusing mostly on non-physical traits. How would this person feel about themself? What kind of person are they? What kind of friend are they to the people they care about? How is this ideal self different from you as you are now? List out things you can do in order to be more like them.

💗 Day 28: List out at least 5 short-term goals (things you want to do this week/this month/this year) and at least 5 long-term goals (things you want to do in the next 5+ years).

💗 Day 29: List out at least 5 reasons to stay alive.

💗 Day 30: Now that the challenge is over, rate your self-esteem again. On a scale from 1 to 10 (with 1 being “horrible, can’t possibly be any worse” and 10 being “wonderful, can’t possibly be any better”), where is your self-esteem at now? Why would you rate it that way? List out the things you have learned about yourself from doing this challenge and how you can continue to improve your self-esteem from here on out.

Everyday Witchcraft: Burt's Bees Glamours and Affirmations

So I really like Burt’s Bees Chapstick.
And I use a lot of it.
My favorite one is the honey infused, which is fitting because of being an Aphrodite devotee and all, but I’ve developed this ritual when I apply my lip balm where I put it on, breathe in the scent, and then say “I speak sweetly. People listen and believe me.” This inspired me to come up with little mini spells for more of the scents, so here you go. Burt’s Bees’ spells on the go. Enjoy. :)

Honey: Use as a glamour to make you seem sweet and cute as a button as well as charming them with your speech. Useful when avoiding persecution or hiding your true intentions of world domination.

Affirmation: I speak sweetly. People listen and believe me.

Wild Cherry: If you’re looking for a classy seductress vibe, wild cherry is your gal. Maybe blow some kisses at yourself in the mirror or lick your lips to lock in the feeling and get yourself in the flirting mood.

Affirmation: I am fair and enchanting, my kiss makes people melt.

Pink Grapefruit: Use for cleansing and purifying yourself of an argument. Having a hard time keeping peace with your relatives about politics at the thanksgiving table when it would be better to stay quiet? Try this baby.

Affirmation: I wash myself of this conflict. I am free from negativity.

Strawberry: Strawberry is associated with innocent love and wealth. The many fruits on the vine represent fertility as well, meaning strawberry is the perfect fruit for bringing overall success into your life and keeping it there.

Affirmation: I have abundance. All I say and do brings me success and love.

Coconut Pear: Coconut represents absolute purity. In WWI some soldiers were given transfusions of coconut water when donor blood was low because it is sterile. Pears are a key love element, so if you’re wanting to attract real love, from people with good intentions (perhaps weeding out the creeps when internet dating) then this one’s for you.

Affirmation: I am bathed in affection by those with pure intentions.

Raspberry: Raspberry represents health, fertility, communication and love. Use to facilitate healthy relationships and help you to maintain physical health along with a healthy lifestyle. If you can feel yourself getting stress sickness, use an affirmation like this to turn it around.

Affirmation: My relationships and my body are healthy. I am free of pain.

Pineapple: Use for attracting wealth and success into your life. Pineapple is the fruit of the traveler, gifted to show hospitality and status. It’s rich inside can hardly be seen as anything but gold in fruit form. You can use this affirmation as a way to both convey status you may not yet have, as well as attract it.

Affirmation: My voice is filled with opulence. Wealth is headed my way.

Mango: Mango is heavily associated with Buddha and enlightenment. Use this to bring focus back to your spiritual journey, and to help others on their own.

Affirmation: I am free and enlightened. My words have the power of knowledge.

Blueberry: Use this for protection. Strong protection. Blueberry keeps danger away, confuses and causes distress to enemies who push the boundary. A word unleashed to your enemies under this protection will cause them distress and make them want to leave you alone.

Affirmation: I am untouchable. I needn’t speak to intimidate my enemy.

Pomegranate: Use this one before doing divination to heighten psychic energy and help with seeing beyond the veil if that’s your thing. Pomegranates have significance in many religions as being highly spiritual and associated with heaven or the underworld. As a glamour, this could also help with giving off “I am a mysterious and powerful witch” vibes, so if you’re doing witchcraft work for non witchy people, such as divination, this could help set the mood.

Affirmation: I am powerful with the energies of life and death. When divining I speak the truth.

Vanilla Bean: This is the big whammy of love spell ingredients. If you’re going out and just wanna find someone RIGHT NOW then vanilla is the powerful punch you’re looking for. The silky scent combined with charmed speech is a powerful seduction tool. It also makes you feel very confident and sexy on your own, so that’s great too.

Affirmation: *blow a kiss* I seduce with the force of a sorceress.

“Baby Stark”

Pairing: Tony Stark x Reader

Summary: After returning to New York, Tony is greeted with surprising news that has potential to change his life.

A/N: another one from draft-purgatory. lol i’ve never written for tony stark, and i i struggle to capture his swaggering tone. however, but i thought it would be fun to write for a slightly softer tony stark.

His elbows resting on the metal railing surrounding the large helicopter landing pad, Tony Stark skims his eyes over the beautiful aerial view of Manhattan. A relaxed smile perks onto his lips as the familiar clamor of the concrete jungle sinks in. “It’s good to be back,” he hums to himself, taking in the majestic view carved around the Avengers Tower.

After rapping his knuckles against the metal railing, Tony saunters down the glass walkway leading into the tower, the eery silence reminding him that everyone is on a mission. He’s about to greet F.R.I.D.A.Y. when a smile enters his view, one that he isn’t expecting.

She sits on the counter of the bar, her legs elegantly crossed despite the restrictive nature of her pencil skirt. The sunlight streams into the room through the glass windows, creating a natural glow about her. A coy smile perks onto her lips as Tony’s drinks her in, his lower lip getting caught between his teeth as his eyes dance up her legs and body. She’s the most alluring girl he’d ever seen -he’d thought so two years ago when they first met, and he still thinks so now- and it’s one of the many reasons why he’s infatuated with her.

“I thought I told you not to wait for me,” He grins, glad that she ignored his request.

“I couldn’t wait until dinner, and I wanted to be here when you arrived. Is that such a crime?” (Y/N) hops off the counter and saunters towards him. She cups his cheek in a way that makes Tony feel like he’s the only person in the world.

“Well, counselor, I recommend -” His words are cut off as (Y/N) yanks the lapels of his jacket to bring his face towards her for a kiss. Tony laughs against her lips, but the laugh quickly gets drowned out by a rough growl as she lightly bites his lower lip. A smile creeps in around the edges of her kiss as she slides her hands down his muscular back. A nip of teeth, a glide of tongue, and she easily has him under her spell.

It’s only a matter of time when the need for oxygen brings the kiss to an end. Tony gently knocks his forehead against (Y/N)’s. “Remind me to always bring up a counterargument, because baby, I could get used to that,” he drawls.

(Y/N) laughs, a devilish glint lighting up her eyes. “Welcome back to New York, Mr. Stark. It’s been a while.” Her hand dangerously inch south as she brings his ear to her lips. “That was a little preview of what’s going to happen tonight.”

He feigns exasperation as (Y/N) playfully smacks his ass but twirls out of his arms before he can do anything. A low noise escapes his throat as she shoots him a sexy smile over her shoulder while kicking off her “ball-busting stilettos”, as she calls them.

Tony leans against the wall and watches (Y/N)’s shadow dance in the glow of the sun. Two years into the relationship, and he still gets butterflies. His fun, beautiful girlfriend, the skyline of the most magical city in America, wonderful weather - his life is perfect and Tony wishes it would stay this way for a long time.

“As much as I love pencil skirts, I need to change,” (Y/N) announces. “I have workout pants in my bag, but could I borrow a shirt or sweater?”

“Baby, at this point, you’ve stolen over half of my comfortable clothes. Why do you even bother asking?”

(Y/N) smirks and plants a kiss on his cheek before sashaying towards the door of Tony’s private apartment. Before she opens the door, she turns to him. “T, I have something to tell you.“

"Mmhmm,” Tony hums, pulling out his phone from his pocket.

“I probably should have told you, but I was kind of scared of how you would react. I thought it would be wise to tell you when you were back in New York.” She hesitates for a bit, her fingertips drumming against the doorframe. “Promise not to freak?” she asks, a slightly icy look glazing her eyes.

A small alarm rings in his head, but Tony maintains a calm expression. “I promise. Did you max out my credit card?” he jokes.

(Y/N) rolls her eyes but relaxes a bit, which pleases Tony. “No, and I never will.”

“My wallet thanks you, baby. But what’s up?”

“Tony.” She swallows. “How do you feel about becoming a dad?”

  • "Family is a sinkhole, and you were right to get out when you had the chance."

  • “I don’t understand how people… live. It’s amazing to me that people wake up every morning and say: ‘Yeah, another day, let’s do it.’ How do people do it? I don’t know how.”

  • “We’re just two lonely people trying to hate ourselves a little less.”

  • “I don’t think I believe in ‘deep down’. I think that all you are is just the things that you do.”

  • “I’m sorry, alright? I screwed up, I- I know I screwed up.”

  • “You can’t keep doing shitty things and then feel bad about yourself like that makes it okay! You need to be better!”

  • “You are all the things that are wrong with you.”

  • “Fuck, man. What else is there to say?”

  • “We’re not doomed. In the great, grand scheme of things, we’re just tiny specks that will one day be forgotten.”

  • “The only thing that matters is right now, this moment, this one spectacular moment we are sharing together.”

  • “I don’t understand how people… live. It’s amazing to me that people wake up every morning and say: ‘Yeah, another day, let’s do it.’ How do people do it? I don’t know how.”

  • “He’s so stupid he doesn’t realize how miserable he should be. I envy that.”

  • “It’s not about being happy, that is the thing. I’m just trying to get through each day.”

  • “I can’t keep asking myself ‘Am I happy?’ It just makes me more miserable.”

  • “It takes a long time to realize how truly miserable you are and even longer to see it doesn’t have to be that way.”

  • “When you do bad things, you have something you can point to when people eventually leave you. It’s not you, you tell yourself. It’s that bad thing you did.”

  • “It’s so cruel to let people love you. All you’re doing is promising you’ll one day break their hearts.”

  • “One day, you’re gonna look around and you’re going to realize that everybody loves you, but nobody likes you. And that is the loneliest feeling in the world.”

  • “There are some people you can’t save. Cause those people will thrash and struggle, and try to take you down with them.”
  • “ Hey, I wanted to talk to you about… you know. I feel bad about what happened.”
  • “I don’t forgive you.”
  • “No. I’m not gonna give you closure. You don’t get that. You have to live with the shitty thing you did for the rest of your life. You have to know that it’s never, ever going to be okay!”
  • “You have to believe me. I did everything I could.”
  • “I had a good life, but what I needed then was a friend! And you abandoned me. And I will never forgive you for that.”
  • “Now get the fuck out of my house!”
  • “ Look, I’m sorry about all the stuff I said about you earlier.”
  • “Do you… do you think it’s too late for me? I mean, am, am, am I just doomed to be the person that I am? “
  • “I, I, I need you to tell me that I’m a good person.”
  • “I just wanted to tell you that I know. I know you want to be happy, but you won’t be… and I’m sorry.”
  • “ What more do you want? What else could the universe possibly owe you? “
  • “I want to feel good about myself. The way you do. And I don’t know how. I don’t know if I can.”
  • “If you ever try to contact me or my family again, I will fucking kill you.”
  • “ You can’t just disappear. You really hurt a lot of people.”
  • “In this terrifying world, all we have are the connections that we make.”
  • “It’s so sad that when you see someone as they really are, it ruins them.”
  • “You like being there to rescue me. Because it makes you feel good about yourself.”
  • “ You know that I don’t do the whole love thing. Either you end up hurting someone or they hurt you. So what’s the point?”
  • “ Uh…. Oh, god, I’m drowning. I feel like I’m drowning.”
  • “Hey, we have all done shitty stuff before. Most of us aren’t as proud of it as you seem to be.”
  • “It doesn’t get better and it doesn’t get easier.”
  • “I can’t keep lying to myself thinking I’m gonna change, I’m poison.”
  • “I come from poison and I have poison inside me and I destroy everything I touch. That’s my legacy.”
  • “I have nothing to show for the life I have lived. And I have nobody in my life who’s better off for having known me.”
  • “You’re gonna wanna kill yourself, and there’s going to be no one left to stop you.”
I don’t hate you for breaking my heart multiple times. I hate myself for letting you do it. I gave you my heart when you gave yours to everyone else. I watched you slip through my fingers and fall into another girls hands. I hate that I let you use me as a way to make yourself feel better when she left you. But for once I finally felt loved and to be loved by you was a wonderful feeling, even if it wasn’t real. Your love was only skin deep and for that I apologize for my mistakes. Now I get to call you friend and act like everything is okay. I have to pick you up when you break and I have to let you be there for me when I hit rock bottom. I have to sit on the sidelines while I watch you make out with another girl. My heart aches but I don’t show it. I stumble for words every time I see your eyes and you… you let me fall. Your eyes are the oceans I cease to explore, because while I’m drowning, you’re saving a girl who knows how to swim.

7 Study Moods

So you wanna study, but somehow the mood just isn’t right. Maybe try these? Pick your favorite, or do one each day of the week!

  • The Classy: Green tea, classical string quartets, reading articles in a park.
    • Great for when you need to read 120 pages of something. It’s way nicer to read when you’re in a nice place!
  • The Hipster: Coffee, jazz, writing summaries of the material in a coffee shop.
    • You’ll look very cosmopolitan, with all your notes in front of you. Make sure your summaries are coherent though, and you’re not too busy looking great to study well.
  • The Grad Student: Wine/sparkling cider, Adele, writing papers, curled up in blankets in bed.
    • Papers are easiest for me to write when I’m comfortable. If I feel a little fancy at the same time, so much the better.
  • The Focuser: Cold water, nature sounds, taking practice tests in a sunlight place.
    • The best way to study for a test is to take a test. The best way to kill test-anxiety is to take a practice test and feel calm while you do it. This is a great way to feel calm and prepared when you do a practice test, and that leads to a better actual test.
  • The Party-er: Energy drink, dubstep, drilling flashcards on the floor.
    • Flashcards for me are a speed thing. If I’m drilling them, my goal is to know those definitions as fast as possible. Caffeine and fast music raise my heart rate, and sitting on the floor gives me room to spread out the cards however I need to.
  • The Morning Person: Orange juice, early American hymns, transcribing notes at your desk.
    • Not necessarily done during the morning! Orange juice helps keep you alert without making you open to distraction, and old American hymns just make me feel happy, so putting them together helps make transcribing a better time.
  • The Finals Prepper: Black tea, folk music, interleaving any/all of the above, at the library.
    • This can be done whenever, and is especially useful for just keeping yourself up to speed.

Don’t worry about doing any of these exactly, these are just moods! Mix and match parts of them, make your own, whatever. I’d recommend choosing one or two moods that work really well for you and then doing them consistently, just to really get in the habit.

Good luck!

Beauty Magic

I want to talk a little bit about beauty magic.
WARNING: LONG POST AHEAD.

To make a long, sad story short, I always hated looking in the mirror because I hated what I saw. I thought I was an ugly fuck and I’d avoid the mirror as much as I could to not see who was staring back at me. When I came upon witchcraft, overtime, I realized that I was neglecting myself of being who I am, beautiful.

I really love incorporating magic into what can make me feel beautiful and empowered and the way I do so is by using music beauty magic to aid me while I take showers, put on makeup, get dressed, etc. It has helped me see that I am truly beautiful for who I am with flaws and all, and I would like to share with you that you too are just as beautiful as I. We are beautiful.

Lets take this one step at a time:

Morning Slumps to Magic Mornings

For me, this is one of the hardest parts of my day. I look like hell; makeup smeared, hair in knots and messy, clothes twisted, goop in eyes, morning breath, I mean, mornings are just not my thing and I have truly felt disgusting while working my way up to getting ready. While thinking to myself how gross I am, it made me less ambitious and made me less willing to look past what I found ugly. So as I brushed my teeth, took a shower, and got ready for my day I already had in mind how ugly I am by focusing on the negative. Thoughts are SO powerful and what we think is what we will see.

Beauty Magic Tip One:
Make a playlist called “Beauty” or a title that makes you feel empowered/beautiful. Have your coffee, eat your breakfast, whatever your routine is. Make your playlist and only put in songs that make you feel beautiful, music that makes you feel sexy, and strong. When you are finished with your morning routine, brush your teeth, and when you are done turn on your playlist. Take a shower while you have that playlist going and think about how beautiful you are and how strong your are.

BONUS:

  • If you sing the songs as you shampoo/condition/wash your body you are washing that beauty all over you and having it soak into your pores and washing off any negativity that lingers. You don’t have to sing, only do if you are comfortable with it.
  • If you are a witch who can’t be open with your magic this is a great way to do beauty magic since you are alone (well, assuming, haha) in the shower. The most you have to worry about is having someone ask you to turn down the music or tell you to stop singing in case you are too loud.
  • If you are a spoonie witch this is a great way to do powerful magic because all you need is your thoughts and a playlist for your tools (and your voice if you choose to sing).

NOTES:

  • Based off of experience (I take hot ass showers) your electronics can get ruined in warm and humid places overtime if you have them in the bathroom with you, if so, make sure that you keep the bathroom well ventilated.
  • I hate to admit it but sometimes while I am showering and I get really into a song and I dance a bit (fuck can’t believe I admitted it but moving past, haha) just please be careful. There have been a couple times where I have almost fallen, haha.

Beauty Magic Tip Two:
While you get ready for your day (doing your hair, getting dressed, putting on your makeup) have your Beauty playlist going on and think about how beautiful you are and sexy you are. This can aid in getting you energized for the day ahead.

BONUS:

  • If you would like, while you get ready and listen to your encouraging music keep a rose quartz on/near you. This can add that little extra oompf.
  • Again, a great way to incorporate magic if you are one who can’t be open with your craft. Who is going to tell you that you can’t listen to music and get ready at the same time?
  • If you are a spoonie witch this is a great way to do powerful magic because all you need is your thoughts and a playlist for your tools (and your voice if you choose to sing).

NOTES:

  • This is just me personally but I can’t sing and put on makeup, that ends in the result of stabbing myself in the eye, haha. Be careful dearie!
  • Rose quartz is one of many crystals that can be used to add a little extra loving energy / beauty magic. If you feel connected to another crystal that makes you feel beautiful use it!
  • If you are a spoonie witch don’t overwhelm yourself. Chronic pain can sometimes get the better where you can’t get ready like you want for your day, and that’s okay. All you need are your positive thoughts and have your playlist going, you are beautiful.

Afternoon Blues to Swingin’ Days

Afternoons are where I feel the most sluggish because its the middle of the day and I am still busy doing my shit (cleaning, working, so forth). Afternoons can feel as if they drag on because you are waiting for the work/school day to be over with so you can go home and chill the fuck out.

Beauty Magic Tip Three:
While your are working/in school and you have a moment to yourself just think about how gorgeous you are. Keep a positive attitude about yourself because words and thoughts are powerful.

BONUS:

  • You can bring along with you a self love spell jar/sigil/crystals along with you to work/school and keep it tucked away in your purse/wallet/backpack where ever as long as it is on your personally.
  • All you need for this are your thoughts and positive vibes. Great for spoonie witches.

NOTES:

  • You can honestly do this whenever throughout the day since all you need are your thoughts. I just like doing this while in the middle of my day because it is a gentle reminder that I am beautiful no matter what I am doing.
  • Again, use any kind of crystal that resonates with you and beauty.

Beauty Magic Tip Four:
When the day is finally over and you are on your way home put on that playlist and sing your heart out.

NOTES:

  • If you are underage and aren’t driving yourself and have to ride the bus or carpool with others but still want to listen to your playlist on your way home, plug in your headphones. You don’t have to sing, singing is just a bonus. Listen to the music, let yourself feel beautiful.
  • If you are driving yourself home, (this is just me personally) but I crank up the music and sing my ass off bring in the loving vibes after a long day.

Gloomy Evenings to Enchanting Nights

I love nighttime. For me, it’s the time to really get connected with my being. The stars shine down on our hearts showing us that glitter of beauty that we each carry. We are all apart of the universe, that beauty is always within us as long as we are willing to open our eyes and see the natural beauty that we hold.

Beauty Magic Tip Five:
Nighttime shower, read Beauty Magic Tip One along with notes and bonus section. This method can be applied to night and morning showers.

Beauty Magic Tip Six:
Magical baths allow us to soak in the properties of whatever kind of magic we are doing. Fill your bath up with water, add bubbles if you would like, and before you get in put on your Beauty playlist. Instead of singing, just listen. Let the words soak into your pores as the water will do.

BONUS

  • You can add candles, herbs, essential oils, incenses, crystals around your bath that are related to beauty/loving energies.
  • A great way for witches who can’t be open about their craft to do magic because you are taking a bath, you can say you just need to relax after a long day.
  • Awesome for spoonie witches. You are soaking in the tub of your beauty and all you need is your thoughts and playlist going.

NOTES:

  • If you are using essential oils/herbs make sure you DO YOUR RESEARCH. Don’t use anything that can be harmful for your body.
  • If you are using crystals make sure you DO YOUR RESEARCH. Don’t use any crystals that will dissolve in water, or can’t be near water, or that can make your water toxic in case accidents happen.
  • It’s best that you don’t have your phone on your during this bath. Focus on yourself, on your beauty, and all the love you should be giving to yourself.
  • Personally, when I do this I don’t like to sing (and I love singing, haha). One, because it is nighttime and people in the house are asleep. Two, because I like to completely lose myself in the bath and relax. So keep the music low and peaceful so you can soak up all that beautiful energy.
  • Don’t have your electronic on the edge of the tub while your music is going. Personally, I use my phone (its an iPhone, all my music is there) and I don’t know about you but I am a clumsy fucker and I can’t afford losing that shit, haha. So keep your music going somewhere in ear shot (on the vanity or on a shelf in your bathroom, wherever water won’t damage your electronics.)

Beauty Magic Tip Seven:
I have acne issues and they bug the shit out of me but it doesn’t mean I’m not beautiful. So before I go to bed I wash my face (with lavender soap) and put on a special remedy I personally make to get rid of my acne. After your shower or before you go to bed, washing your face is a BIG helper to keep yourself beautiful. Keep a special towel that is specifically used for washing your face. Cleaning your face with some water and soap that is proper for your skin can do you wonders. While you wash your face think how powerful you are and how beautiful you are.

BONUS:

  • If you have acne and are curious about my remedy watch this video to see how I do it.
  • You can have your Beauty playlist going on as you wash your face, adding that that extra oompf of gorgeous to your magic.
  • This is a great way to incorporate magic if you are one who can’t be open with your craft. If someone asks what you are doing all you have to say is that you are taking care of yourself, which, well you are!

NOTES:

  • If you are using the acne remedy of mine make sure that you are able to use it. It contains tea tree essential oil, not everyone can use that for their skin so please DO YOUR RESEARCH. I am not responsible for if something goes wrong because I am warning you now what works for me may not work for you, so test the waters and make sure you use ingredients that are safe for your skin.
  • While washing your face keep your electronics away from you if you are playing your Beauty playlist as you wash your face. This is just from personal experience but I am a messy fucker when it comes to washing my face. I wish I could be as graceful as those ladies on TV splashing water on my face with no effort, but yeah, this is real life and water gets EVERYWHERE. So, if you are like me, keep that in mind if you want your music playing.
  • You don’t have to have music going, it’s optional. I just love music and incorporate it with anything magical I do.
  • This can be overwhelming for spoonie witches (especially if you are one who has chronic pain in hands/wrists) because you are in motion washing your face so do what you can, if it is too painful to do then I recommend not doing this.

Beauty Magic Tip Eight:
As you are laying in bed, right before you fall asleep say out loud, in your head, or whisper “I shine bright like my brothers and sisters of the night sky.” or “I am beautiful.”

BONUS:

  • Sleep with a rose quartz crystal to have the beauty of yourself always be with you, even in your dreams.

NOTES:

  • You can honestly say anything you’d like before you fall asleep, the two examples I provided are just ones that I say. Anything along the lines to you being beautiful will bring you beauty and charm.
  • You don’t have to use rose quartz. If you connect to another crystal that provides you the same beautiful/loving energies use it!

NOTE
I wanted to save these for the very end.

  • Beauty magic isn’t so that others will see you and think “Holy fuck, they are SO beautiful. I MUST HAVE THEM.” It isn’t like that. This kind of magic is about you seeing yourself as beautiful.
  • Regarding your playlist, you can have ANY music that makes YOU feel beautiful. If the song makes you feel strong, sexy, beautiful, charming, empowered, whatever go ahead and use it!

This is just a taste of music from my personal Beauty Playlist to help you get an idea:
Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton, Sugar Magnolia by Grateful Dead, She Is Beautiful by Andrew W.K., Oh Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison, Lovingest Woman In Town by Albert King, Humans by The Scene Aesthetic, My Little Girl by The Jeff Healey Band, Cigarettes and Coffee by Otis Redding.

Like I said, you can use whatever kind of music you want as long as you feel beautiful. (Don’t be rude, please don’t give me any shit for my taste in music.)

So there we have it, a list of different ways you can incorporate beauty magic within your lives, and yes I know most of the tips have something to do with music but I am someone who incorporates music into everything I do magically.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and if you use these tips, let me know how it works for you and tell me what you added to make it your personal style.

Stay beautiful darlin’.

Much Love,

Ska! How do you ink your traditional drawings? And. Would you mind sharing some tips for traditional?

Yes of course, thank you for asking! ; 7 ; / To start, don’t think you need expensive tools to draw traditionally, even just a $1-$2 ink pen or sharpie can look nice against paper! The tools I usually use for all my ink work is a red color pencil, $2 ball-point ink pen, and a sharpie (occasionally white out)! If you’re like me (someone who has trouble doing a large-scale picture and do better with smaller thumbnails), I would suggest to buy yourself a small canvas sketch journal!

It’s a lil beat up, but this is what I use! It works well with sharpies/ink and feels great to draw on! As for sketching, I find red color pencil sketching looking better than a regular pencil! It feels like guidelines and makes the black ink pop out more! Here’s a comparison with an old doodle!

A great way to make your lines look nicer is extra line weight! I usually give my outlines an extra stroke with the pen to make the lines thicker on the outside, and you might also want to go over your lines twice if your ink is not dark enough! ; 3 ; / I also occasionally use whiteout to fix mistakes or add lil stars/sparkle by dipping a toothpick in it.

The next thing I suggest is using an app called CamScanner! It uses your camera to capture your pictures but defines the lines/colors better and works great if you want to use the lines as lineart when you scan it to color digitally (don’t think you need a tablet to color it! Half of this picture was colored with my tiny trackpad. You can totes do it with time and effort)! Here’s another comparison!

CamScanner on the left, and regular camera on the right! It also changes lighting, crops pictures (I had to crop the right one on sai), changes toning, and even fixes angled shots for you! It works wonderful and I recommend it! The last thing is that please have fun and take your time!

I think that’s about it! Sorry if I went a lil long! Of course, I’m not a professional and obviously there’s probably more benefits with professional tools, but this is my process! Thanks so much for asking! <3

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it (especially the College Student's Cookbook), but I'm not so much looking for recipes as I am the processes and what things do, ie, how to cut up a chicken into pieces, what paprika does, how to fry things, which knife to use when you want to do "x", the difference between sauteing and frying, etc. Not so much "what to put together if you want to make X" but "if you do this then this will happen because of that". Do you have any resources for that?

Whoops, sorry I didn’t understand. I don’t have any resources for that, so I threw one together for you! My boyfriend has been a line cook for about seven years now, and he’s taught me so much about food. There are lots of simple things you can do to make food taste better- but let’s start with the basics.

College Cooking 101

Materials

Here is a list of materials that I believe are absolutely necessary to creating a quality product. Feel free to substitute anything based on your own personal preferences.

Cooking supplies:

  • Non-stick frying pan (cast iron pans are much more difficult to clean)
  • Pot (I would recommend a small pot that you can use to cook for just yourself, and a larger pot for cooking portions or for company)
  • Lid for said pot
  • Rubber spatula (much better than wooden spoons)
  • Tongs
  • Sheet tray
  • Strainer
  • Scissors (kitchen scissors)
  • A cutting board (I recommend plastic because they’re easier to wash)
  • Cutting knife
  • Bread knife (both knives should be sharpened every six months at least, you can take them to your local kitchen supplies shop)

Spices:

  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Dried chives (or real chives if you can swing them. Throw them in your ramen, your tuna salad, sprinkle them on top of pasta, etc)
  • Thyme (dried or fresh… dried is 3x as potent, use to season soups or pastas)
  • Rosemary (dried or fresh, use to season meats and starches)
  • Cumin (use this spice to rub meat)
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar
  • Garlic powder or onion powder (used for meat rubs and seasoning soups or sauces)
  • Paprika (I would recommend avoiding smoked paprika, it’s got a super aggressive flavor… use this in small amounts sprinkled over things like you would the chives)

Basic produce:

  • Parmesan cheese (for sprinkling over pastas, you can get it pre-grated)
  • Cheddar cheese (for making sandwiches and mac and cheese)
  • Tomatoes (whole, crushed, paste, whatever… just have some sort of tomato product in your pantry at all times)
  • Potatoes (you can’t buy them pre-cut because the oxidize and turn gray if not used immediately… you can still eat them, but they don’t look pretty)
  • Onions (you can get them pre-cut)
  • Garlic (use to make sauce or soup bases)
  • Romaine hearts (lettuce has a short shelf life, but romaine hearts literally last forever and are healthier than eating iceberg lettuce)
  • Protein of some sort (whatever you like- steak, chicken, tofu, etc)
  • Something salty (like pickles, black olives, anchovies, etc)
  • Your favorite veggies (I like carrots and squashes the best)
  • Pasta (whatever is cheapest or on sale at your store)
  • Bread (freeze half a loaf and leave the rest in your fridge)
  • Eggs (egg beaters or whole eggs, whatever you like)
  • Butter (or a butter substitute)
  • Oil (olive oil is the most expensive)
  • Chicken stock (or vegetable stock, in a carton or cubed)

Techniques

Basic (super duper duper basic) instructions on how to cook various items. I am not a trained professional- the information I’m providing is based off of personal experience only.

Meat

  • Steak (skirt steak or cube steak are easiest)
    • Cooking: Cook with oil. Outside of the steak should be grey. The inside should be light pink.
    • Seasoning: Create a simple spice blend and rub it all over the meat. Spice rubs always include salt and pepper, add whatever other spices you want.
    • Pair with: Starches or veggies.
  • Chicken (skinless and precut are easiest)
    • Cooking: Cook with oil. Outside should be starting to crisp, inside should be white and dry.
    • Seasoning: Salt and pepper work best. You can also coat chicken in panko bread crumbs.
    • Pair with: Starches, veggies, fruits, or pasta.
  • Pork (pork chops are easiest)
    • Cooking: Cook with butter or oil. Outside should be starting to crisp. Inside should be the same color as the outside, and should feel very dry and hard.
    • Seasoning: Create a simple spice blend and rub it all over the meat. Spice rubs always include salt and pepper, add whatever other spices you want. Meat should be completely coated in the spice rub, or it won’t taste like anything but the oil.
    • Pair with: Starches, veggies, or fruits.

Starches

  • Potatoes (little potatoes are easiest)
    • Cooking: Cook with oil. Outside should be starting to crisp, inside fork tender.
    • Seasoning: Rub (literally rub the potatoes with your hands) salt, pepper, oil and rosemary all over the potatoes.
  • Pasta (shapes are easiest)
    • Cooking: Boil water with a teaspoon of salt. Wait until the water is visibly boiling to add your pasta. I like my pasta al dente, so I always cook it for the shortest amount of time listed on the box.
    • Seasoning: Thoroughly coat pasta with whatever sauce you’re using, or it will taste dry. Good prepared sauce brands: Newman’s Own, Classico, and Barilla.
  • Orzo/Cous Cous/Pastina
    • Cooking: Cook in chicken or vegetable stock following package instructions. Stir every so often, and add additional stock as it is absorbed into the pasta.
    • Seasoning: I like to add dried herbs to the sauce as it reduces to add flavor. You can also add veggies early on and let them cook in the sauce.

Veggies

  • Carrots/parsnips/beets (chopped are easiest)
    • Cooking: These can be pan fried in oil, boiled, cooked in a sauce/stew, or put on a sheet tray to roast in the oven. The easiest way to cook them is to add them to a sauce that you are heating up, and allow them to soften until they can be pierced by a fork.
    • Seasoning: Rub the veggies with salt before cooking, unless you are adding them to a sauce or stew.
  • Green beans/asparagus/brussels sprouts
    • Cooking: These are best pan fried with butter. Cook them until they are slightly crisped and fork tender. If you want to be fancy you can blanch them before hand. How to blanch: Boil water, and throw the veggies in for literally thirty seconds. Pour them into a strainer and douse them immediately with cold water from your sink tap until they are cool to the touch.
    • Seasoning: Salt works best before cooking. Butter after cooking.
  • Squash/eggplant/sweet potato (chopped are easiest)
    • Yes I know that sweet potato is a starch, but it fits better here.
    • Cooking: These veggies are best roasted until fork tender. Time varies. These veggies should be cooked with their skin left on.
    • Seasoning: Rub these veggies with salt and cook in a little oil. Top with butter after they are cooked.

The upsides of remaining friends with your abusive ex
  • there is none
  • don’t do it
  • they will keep abusing you as a friend
  • only this time it may be more difficult for you to notice what they’re doing
  • your friendship with them will be used against you if you ever decide to go public with your story
  • the energy you invest in taking care of their feelings (because an abuser’s feelings always come first) is energy you should use to rebuild yourself instead
  • they will try to confuse you and make you feel guilty. they will use your compassion, don’t fall for it
  • THEY chose to abuse you, THEY should deal with the consequences alone
  • they don’t deserve your friendship
  • just don’t
  • they won’t come to their senses and change for the better magically just because you are not dating
  • it can actually get even worse when they realize you’re not coming back together
  • trust me on this
