hey love! sorry to bother you but i need advice. so lately ive been having trouble with like "grounding" myself, cause its really easy for me to get out of my body but then when i get back i feel weird, like im not entirely here, you know? do you have any advice on how i can control that better?
bonjour, angel! ~ it’s always difficult having to “come back” to yourself, isn’t it? luckily, there are a few things you may want to try in hopes of making it all easier! “centering” is a really effective meditation/visualization method used by a lot of people, usually for when they need to clear their heads and take a moment to set themselves right again. keep in mind that this may not be the best practice for those who tend to dissociate (but for some, it does help - just trust your gut!) the practice of grounding and centering can be found here, explained in-depth :-)
another thing that may help bring you back is to state loud and clear that you exist. take a moment alone to get comfortable and stand your own ground - announce, “i am here. i am real. i feel strong emotions, i live day-by-day; i am my own person, and a very real one, at that” - or something along those lines. breathe deep. let yourself be centered; connected to the ground, the Earth. tell yourself that things are okay, that they will continue to be okay, and that you are strong and alive. 💕
lastly, try taking some time to reconnect with the Earth. this in turn will help you reconnect to yourself. walk through the grass, feeling the soft texture. hold your arms above your head, embracing the sun. take the deepest breath you can, inhaling fresh air and letting that make you feel fresh and new, too. you are here, you are real, you are a part of everything.
