Life Cleanse - What I Did
  • Deep clean your room - I’m talking about stripping the bed, going through clothes, papers, and belongings and having no mercy. Sweeping and damp mopping the floors. Dusting surfaces. Finding new homes for those miscellaneous items that just sit there in the way.
  • Delete old contacts - I went from having maybe 30-40 contacts to 14. In other words, delete contacts you haven’t messaged or called in the last two weeks to a month (if so long). If they text you don’t be afraid or feel guilty for asking who it is.
  • Go through your music library - Play all your songs and if you skip a song delete it without hesitation. The next time you hit shuffle on your playlist you won’t even notice it’s gone. What if you get in the mood for the song? That’s what YouTube is for my friend… or just add the song back onto your phone.
  • Go through clothes - That dress you haven’t worn once in the past year- toss it. The shirt you swear fits if you don’t raise your arms- get rid of it. Those worn out clothes- dump them. *Of course there can be exceptions but within reason.
  • Journal - Write down any thoughts to cleanse your mind. Any ideas you might have. Good things that happened that day. Bad things that happened. Things you’re grateful for. It helps so much. Try it for at least three days straight and you’ll notice how much better you feel. Problems might not disappear completely but it’ll give you the strength to get through another day.
  • Don’t try to force things to work out - It’s so hard and it can be upsetting when things don’t, but sometimes the best thing you can do for you is accept the way (some)things are.
  • Don’t be hard on yourself for messing up -  It can be easy to physically or mentally punish yourself for making a mistake no matter how big or small, but I’ve learned that doing things like starving yourself, beating yourself  up (literally), or just scolding yourself repeatedly doesn’t improve the situation and it doesn’t improve yourself.
  • Cut toxic people off - Remove them from your life physically (which sometimes takes time). Unfriend them from social media. Remove prominent traces of them from your life. It’s like suddenly a weight comes off of your shoulders.
  • Practice self love -  I write/say this so often and sometimes I feel like it’s so hard to do sometimes but it’s not. I’m talking about taking a break when you need to. Drinking water. Moisturising your skin. Getting enough sleep. It’s the little things like that that count as self love.
  • Don’t runaway from your problems - It’s tempting and hard but it’s important to face any problems you’re facing. No one is saying you have to be strong 24/7, only that you should try.
  • Delete old files - Go through you computer, tablet, phone, USB drive etc. Delete old unimportant documents, old photos, music, apps and more.

WHAT’S IN MY BACKPACK: SOPHOMORE YEAR OF COLLEGE EDITION

Last time I did a What’s In My Backpack I was a senior in high school. Time for an update!

Since starting college, I’ve learned to really skim down the things I carry with me, since I do a lot of walking every day (usually around 45min). I pack only the necessary school supplies, and keep a lot of stuff on my laptop so that I can carry less paper. However, things to get through the day/deal with emergencies are always necessary. **All links are Amazon Affiliate links, but all products are things I use and love (obviously, since they’re in my backpack!)**

My backpack is the North Face Women’s Borealis (newer version). It offers great support and has a ton of little pockets, which I love. Patch sewn on by me :)

Details under the cut!

Ok, So..

My only reliable source of internet kinda just 210% gave out on me and I have no other options to be able post my usual art. I’d run the blog from mobile, but my phone won’t connect to my laptop for this either.

This means art related updates will be either put on hold for an indefinite amount of time, sporadic, or traditional and sporadic.

I apologize for this happening and definitely don’t like that it’s a thing, but what can you do?

Also, thanks in advance for sticking around through this mess! Really appreciate it!

Extra: I’ll also still be fairly active here in the bg, but if you’d (for some reason) like to see my random ramblings and yelling into the void, I do have a twitter!

First Allowance Use: Updated

$54.00  Daily Skin Care Products & Female Hygiene Products

  $30.00  Social Media Ads

$489.00  Business Logistics and Legal Ownership

$500.00  Savings Account

=$1,073 of $2,200.

Remember when I said I wanted a new phone? I’m holding that off and focusing on backing up my files on my USB. The phone can wait until next month. The more I organize myself, the more I can rationalize what is a priority and what is a hindrance.

My priority is making sure I use my Sugar Daddy experience as an observation and learn more about the executives with money (give me your money). Before I do the shopping spree, the spa experience…I need to do what I couldn’t do last month which was to improve my business.

A hindrance would be thinking about pleasure. There are seniors in my college who are excited about getting an internship and I’m dealing with lawyers about trademarking in September. I’ll do something nice for myself AFTER I HAVE “FOUNDER OF A COMPANY” IN MY RESUME.

THIS WILL ATTRACT HIGH ROLLERS SD. VENTURE CAPITALIST, HEDGE FUND INVESTOR, POLITICIANS, CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE.

My strategic thinking scares me…

Dea’s STUDY/NOTETAKING/COLLEGE TIPS FOR THE ADHD STUDENT.

There are a lot of studyblrs and study tips posts going around now thanks to the new school year. But a lot of them, without trying to do so, tend to have a slight ableist bend. It’s more that the tips are great and all for NT people, but ADHD folk (and other neurodivergent folk too) are going to have issues with things like remembering to take 50 million different pens with you, and most of them assume you’re taking notes by hand.

So welcome to Dea’s STUDY/NOTETAKING/COLLEGE TIPS FOR THE ADHD STUDENT.

Wanted (Wonho pt.3) [M]

Genre: Romance (lots of sexual tension?)
Pairing: Wonho/Shin Hoseok (Criminal/CEO), You (Federal agent)
Rating: M
Warning: Smut, Language

Summary:
Shin Hoseok, formerly known as “Wonho”, is a criminal-turned-business man with an outstanding record for law breaking.

And you had a history with him.

As much as you wished for the past to remain in the past, a recent high-profile crime suddenly forces you back into an unlikely partnership with the terribly charming and mysterious Shin Hoseok.

pt.1 | pt.2 | pt.3

The last time you came to Wonho’s house was during a police raid. And that time, you had the pleasure of holding his cat while your team searched his place.

A wanted man with multiple felonies living with a Siberian kitten? That was a first. And as it turns out, the cat was oddly fond of you, not that you mind, it’s just he’s yet again defied your assumptions about his lifestyle.

“Welcome back.”

Wonho pulls up before the garage, and you sense the familiarity in your surroundings. Still the same house from what you remember, except this time, you weren’t in your fatigues.

The minute you enter the door, a furry gray creature comes running forward. You instinctively open your arms, letting the kitten hop into your embrace just like the last time.

“She missed you too.” Wonho chuckles, shrugging off his jacket.

“Maybe I should take her home.” You kick off your heels, petting the soft fur as the kitten purrs besides your neck.

Wonho didn’t respond, letting his eyes do the admiring while you giggle at the cat’s display of affection. He knows staring only worsens his self-control, but the sound of your laughter is always too precious to miss. Yet he’s just as frustrated as he’s pleased by your presence. That innocent smile of yours paired with such a ravishing red dress is a new type of torture.

And his cat is getting every bit of your affection.

“Let’s go to the living room.” He pulls off his tie, hoping to reclaim your attention.

Your gaze wanders back to Wonho loosening his top few buttons, and your blood suddenly heats at the sight of his exposed forearms. But you quickly shake your head, stopping yourself from going further because tonight’s job isn’t over yet.

“Want anything to drink?” Wonho calls, heading towards his kitchen.

“Water is fine, thanks.” You follow behind into his spacious living room.

“Not champagne? This calls for a celebration.”

“Too early for that.” You sat down on the couch. “For all we know, this could be a fake.”

Wonho returns with a glass in each hand. “Well, I have a good feeling about this.” He sits down besides you, opening the laptop on the coffee table before picking up the cell phone. “So as I was saying, I.M has a thing for smart phones.”

You held up your hand. “Wait. Let’s start from the beginning.” You pause, “What’s your relationship with I.M?”

Wonho inhales as he leans back into the cushions. “Long story short, I found him around…eight years ago, on the streets. He didn’t have any family, so I took him in.”

You nod, quietly listening as he continues.

“It was winter, in January. The 26th to be exact. And we decided to make that his birthday since he couldn’t remember his real one.”

And then, you had an epiphany. “Is that why the pass code is-”

“0126.” Wonho adds, taking a sip of his water. “It’s an old habit of his.”

He then grabs an USB cord, connecting the phone to the laptop. You watch as the computer screen turns black with nothing but a giant letter ‘X’ on display.

“It’s I.M’s work alright.” Wonho smirks, an air of confidence in his voice. “This is his signature security screen. Completely impassable. And only those he’s told how to bypass it, can.”

You frown, folding your arms in the process. “Does it take another genius hacker to get inside?”

Wonho shakes his head, his smile growing bigger. “All you have to do is type out a password.”

You scoff, probably because how much of this is starting to sound like a joke. “What is it?” You didn’t bother taming your sarcasm.

“It’s…” He reaches out to the keyboard. “I.M is very handsome.”

You blink in silence, until your expression falls into a total look of annoyance.

“Wonho, if you’re-”

“No I’m serious!” He then began typing, and you glare at his fingers that are indeed typing out those words. The screen then disappears, and a list of folders and files suddenly pops into view.

You swear you might just faint at this ridiculousness.

“This is…” You couldn’t find the proper words utter. “Really stupid.”  It’s taking a lot to convince yourself, even as you read over the folders each named after a prominent politician.

“It is stupid, but it works.”

You had to take a moment, giving yourself some time to process everything before your eyes. But you might as well accept it; these criminals are simply beyond your understanding. At least this I.M guy has a sense of humor.

Taking a gulp of water, you stare back at Wonho again. “But…why? Why did he do this?”

“I.M is a smart kid and good at heart, so it also confused me why he’d do something like this.” He sighs. “And it confused me even more since he was the one who sent me the invite to the auction.”

Wonho clicks on the screen and opens his email, showing you a fairly empty message.

“He sent it to me without any context, as if it was in a hurry.”

Your jaw went slack, yet you think you might be getting the hint. “You think he was being threatened?”

“Not him, probably a loved one.”

You furrow your brows. “You just said he doesn’t have a family.”

“It could be someone he met later.” Wonho shrugs, leaning towards you. “A girl maybe.”

You scoff, almost rolling your eyes. “Would I.M go this far for a girl he met?”

“I know I would.”

Long post, I’m sorry…

Sorry I’ve been kinda inactive lately…. I’ve been without internet for over a month now (because Comcast is a little bitch who wouldn’t even try to work with our apartment complex… It’s a long story) so I haven’t played any Smite at all, and as a result I just haven’t been as into it recently. I still love it, but it’s hard to really keep reblogging or making new content when I can’t really play the game or even use my laptop to write drabbles to post. (I hate writing shit out on my phone like that). Art is a process of transferring onto my phone via USB and then posting it via mobile and it doesn’t sound like much but that reduces the quality and just lowers my motivation big time. Hopefully I’ll get internet in the next few days (it’d be a nice early birthday present) but other than that… I’m sorry. I feel like I’m letting you guys down with my lack of content.

Tl;dr I’ve been without internet, inactive, and I’m sorry…

hey amanda, on your insta like five posts back you posted a... cart?? thats the word you used? for playing vinyl and said its good for newbies and anyway im such a newbie that i dont even know what its called, but would you provide a link? inherited a ton of old classical + jazz records and have no way to listen. and the internet confuses me with too many options.

Yeah!! I’ve been in the exact experience before and I know how rough it can be. I suddenly made the (possibly irresponsible, since I was a broke college student at the time) decision to start collecting vinyl around this time last year, and it was pretty overwhelming. I got ha-ha’d by lots of arrogant record store dudes who pointed me right to the pastel blue Crosley players without a moment’s hesitation. Fun thing about being a women trying to take up a hobby is that pretty much every decision you make will be scrutinized by a male public, sadly. It’s nerve-wrecking…but don’t give up! I never believed it until I experienced it, but vinyl really is warmer, more engaging, and in my opinion the best way to listen to music, bar none.

This is gonna be a long post, lmao, and I’m sure I’ll get some feed back or uh..spicy hot takes from anons later, but who cares. I know your question was about cartridges, and if you like, I’ve put it right at the end of my answer for you to scroll down to. But I think I wanna start back from stage one just because I’ve been meaning to for a while. Hope that’s ok. So uh. Enjoy some pics of my two little needle-robots & an explanation of how I got them under the cut.

So the last time I did this the folks at @packconfig seemed to like it; so here’s my Goruck GR1 decked out for a four day work trip out in Country South Australia, lying on the bed of the most elaborate hotel-motel-holiday-inn this side of the country can offer.

The key to getting this bag to work is packing cases. You can’t just turf everything in (although it still handles this better than other packs), you need keep things organized.

Fortunately, a big ole’ boxy cavity makes this rather simple. For multi-day trips I use a SeaToSummit dry bag for all of my clothes, a smaller NorthFace dopp kitt (not overly fond of it, due for replacement), and a gear bag of some unknown brand that I bought for a tenner in Brisbane airport about six months back to store USB serial adapters, RS232 cords, laptop chargers, phone chargers, USB hubs, etc. The blue and orange trimmed case is a Crumpler case holding an iPad mini, Moleskine, coloured markers, pens, pencils, rulers and a few other bits and bobs.

Laptop, not that it’s even really relevant in this particular setup is a Lenovo X240 hiding in the rear section and only weighing about 1.8kg from memory. Nothing about this setup precludes using a Macbook or conventional 14" laptop.

The only real ‘gotcha’ in this setup is that while the bag fits in the carry on bins, using a dry bag compressed so tightly results in smacking head first into carry on weight requirements. Flights out to country area in Australia frequently limit to 6kg carry on, but usually 8-12kg for regular flights. I’ve packed this bag out to 18kg by accident before getting the Lenovo X240.

man Apple really launched a $1000 phone without USB-C… and the thing has fast charging but you have to pay like $80 for 61W USB-C charger and USB-C-to-Lightning cable.

What an unholy port Lightning is lmao I hate it. I was considering buying the iPhone 8 but what a load of bullshit Apple it’s 2017…
