uplifting verses

i could go on for days about how much this blog means to me. but i’ll just say this: these past two semesters have been really hard for me. i transferred to the college of my dreams, have been making friends, and have been adjusting to a new school… but change is really hard for me. and its overwhelming to be in a new place with new people and not know whether or not people want to befriend me or not. or whether i’m worthy or deserving of even being at this school. who am i to be able to reach for the stars and try to achieve my dreams? but if this show taught me anything, it’s that sometimes things aren’t based on merit. they just are. and having this place to come to when the anxiety of real life can be a little too much for me to handle has been an amazing safe haven for me. thank you all for being the extra bit of glue i needed to keep myself together and able throughout this past school year.

so onto the dedications under the cut!!!!

Woke up feeling defeated today, so I opened up my Bible and the page I turned to was no coincidence. It was all God. // Through trials, God shows us what is in us and clears out anything that gets in the way of complete trust in HIM. So when tough times come your way, realize that God wants to use them to REFINE your faith and PURIFY your heart. #InTheWordWednesday

My Dear Sister,

I just want to encourage you that: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” - Exodus 14:14

As Moses spoke these words to the children of Israel while they were fleeing Egypt, it seemed impossible to comprehend that God could possibly be fighting for them in that situation. Their oppressor Pharaoh and his army were on their backs but even when there seemed to be no escape He made a way. He split the Red Sea in half. He fought for them. Even out in the desert when in an uphill battle when they seemed to be on the losing team, God fought for them, and through Jesus, God fought for you too…because He LOVES you. You are not in this battle alone. Never forget how much God loves you and is fighting for you. Even when:

1. You’re checking your phone, looking at your texts or social media, thinking about what you wish a certain person would say/do/post
2. You realize you haven’t accomplished what you thought you would by now
3. The job, school, or opportunity you applied for told you “no”
4. You realize you’re at the age society says you should be married or have a certain set of experiences
5. You’re trying to improve your health and you can’t reach your goals
6. The relationship you thought was the right one doesn’t seem so promising anymore
7. The things you said you would do in 2015 have not been accomplished

Want to know how God is fighting for you in these situations? Here’s how:

The reason why there is still any ounce of hope for your future despite these doubts and insecurities is because God loves you enough to fight for you. He fought for you by sending His one and only son to die for you, so that you would not have to live in darkness. So be still in His presence and let that beautiful truth reign over whatever it is you’re battling right now, because God is not looking for you to fight these battles by yourself. He wants you to be still and trust Him. He has a plan for everything that tries to come your way…so be still, and trust Him.

FT Island ‘Over 10 Years’ Review

The Low-Down

FT Island celebrates their 10th anniversary in style with a brand new full-length album. Champagne aside, Over 10 Years boasts a completely new track list and a style of music very different to Where’s the Truth of 2016. Overall, the album is a mix-match of styles, ranging from rock ballad to EDM-esque dance. The instrumentals in the album aren’t as raw as they are in the harder Pray, nor are they very prominent as in Take Me Now. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, the album will certainly resonate more with fans of progressive rock or dance, than it will with hard rock or metal fans (like me).

Before we start, I apologise for the delayed review. I understand some of you have been waiting for this for a while. This is the longest album review I have ever written (with 12 brand new tracks to discuss). Thus, I have decided to split it into two: the first part being a review of Over 10 Years and the MV for Wind. Love Sick and its MV will have its own, separate post.

But You, O LORD, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
I was crying to the LORD with my voice,
And He answered me from His holy mountain.
I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the LORD sustains me.
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me round about.

- Psalm 3:3-6 NASB

So current West End Grantaire and Enjolras are fantastic.

In this post, reasons why Jo Parsons and Bradley Jaden are on spot with their characterisations of Grantaire and Enjolras will be provided. Or: I’ve had a lot of feelings about them after seeing Les Mis in London, which is why this post got a bit out of hand and there’s quite a rant ahead under the cut.
