The Surf Affinity team hit up the lovely park of Saas Fee in Switzerland last week for a day of freestyle trick tips with girls of all abilities who were rockin both skis and snowboards. Eighteen ladies from the surrounding area turned up to learn new maneouvres and also compete for some epic prizes, including bags from Dakine, teeshirts from Nikita, lovely perfume from Les Ettes and a free Surf Affinity holiday!

The day kicked off with freestyle tricks and tips from the Surf Affinity crew, with groups heading off to perfect their flatland jib skills, before a session in the half pipe. Some girls had never hit the half pipe before but with such a lovely bunch of encouraging ladies on hand to support their efforts, everyone was riding really high up the walls, and some ladies were even throwing down some sweet alley oops and hand plants by lunch time!

After stoking the energy levels, everyone headed back to the park for the Snow Affinity Shred Session. First up, the ladies strutted their jib-tastic stuff with all manner of styley tricks on the flat, before heading onto the kickers. There are several lines of kickers running through the well-shaped and maintained Saas Fee park, so the girls had plenty to choose from. Maria spent most of the afternoon perfecting her massive front 3s off the big kicker, whilst Laura and Fabi steezed it out with synchro tricks down the main kicker line! Petra showed off her awesome method grabs, whilst Jenny worked on her new-found back 1s. All in all, everyone pushed their limits and had styley new tricks down by the end of the day.

Marije kicked off the prize giving at the Fee-Iglu Bar in the evening with her super nice surfy cocktails (which mainly consisted of rum!), before the legendary Saas Fee Jam Session got into full swing. Sick prizes from Dakine, Les Ettes, and Nikita were handed out to the girls, whilst the winner of the raffle for the free Surf Affinity holiday went to Fabi, who also won the prize for ‘Pipe Princess’! Needless to say, she was pretty stoker dokered and swiftly ordered plenty more cocktails!

Massive thanks goes out to all our Snow Affinity sponsors, Optimum Snowsports, the Fee-Iglu Bar and also to Abi from UpFlatDown who came all the way over from Tignes to be our photographer extraordinaire for the day! Also a big shout out to all the girls for coming along and strutting their awesome snowboarding and skiing stuff on the day.  We’re already looking forward to seeing some of you on the beach this summer!

Surf Affinity are currently taking bookings for our surf holidays on the South-west coast of France this summer. Check out our website for more info… but in the meantime, keep shredding ladies!
