DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE AND ARE YOU DYING RIGHT NOW?
“The HEXEN 2.0 Tarot features 78 alchemical drawings depicting interconnected histories of the computer and the Internet, cybernetics and the counterculture, science-fiction and scientific projections of the future, government and military research programs, social engineering and ideas of the control society; alongside diverse philosophical, literary and political responses to the advance of technology including the claims of anarchoprimitivism, technogaianism, and transhumanism.
Through representing and re-examining these subjects and histories through the lens of occult belief systems and ideas of the supernatural, the HEXEN 2.0 Tarot takes us to a hypnotic, mesmerizing space from where one may imagine and construct possible alternative futures.”
Do you feel like Ram Dass’s Be Here Now had a three way with Adolf Wolifi and Tarot and produced a beautiful baby because I do.
What with all the dragons (and other commander stuff, but who cares DWAGONS!!!) being revealed, I thought it’d be nice to assemble a deck tech for these flying death beasts to supplement the upcoming Dragon deck.
Here we go!
(1) Scourge of Valkas
How rude. WOTC added it to the pre-con. Moving on.
(2) Fate Reforged not-Dragonlords
All of these pre-Dragonlords have “Whenever a Dragon you controls attacks” clauses, making them cheap upgrades for the Dragon deck.
(3) Dragon Whisperer & Outcast
Dragon tokens are awesome!
(4) Skyline Despot
Dragon tokens, and much beloved card draw. Sign me up.
(5) Dragon Roost
Not even close to efficient, but flashy and fun. And MOAR DWAGONS!
Plenty of reprints make it cheap. Bring a mana accelerator like Dark Ritual and others to really fire it off.
(7) Crucible of Fire
Absolutely brutal here. And fun.
(8) Crux of Fate
One-sided wipe, always fun.
(9) Utvara Hellkite
My favorite Dragon. Momma here is a beast in combat, and when you swing a board full of flying death down, you get an army of dragons.
Dragonlord Servant & Dragonspeaker Shaman
Getting Dragons out faster is even better!
There’ll probably a few of these in the set, just not revealed yet. Make sure to pick up what WOTC doesn’t add, and you have a really fun Dragon Deck v1 ready to roll to fly.
Anyway, great GoT episode. Play some dragons, let out you inner Dany.
The Infinite Threads Daily Pull | July 27, 2017 ~Father of Swords, I The Magician
The Father of Swords and the Magician have come to visit us today. The Father of Swords brings us the message about being analytical in situation that we are coming across. We must remember to use our full gift of perception to get to the truth of the matter. Today is one of those days we must take our emotions out of the equation to be able to see everything we need to see.
The objectivity will allow the Magician’s energy to come forth. Once we have analyzed the situation, we can take the action we need to that the Magician is encouraging us to take. The elements of creation and magic are at our hand and the Magician is encouraging us to use them in our upcoming projects.
My book about the tarot, The Creative Tarot, out with Touchstone February 2016, now has a beautiful cover! You have no idea how much anxiety I had about the cover. If you want a sense of it, google image search “tarot book” and just see what comes up.
And it has beautiful illustrations by Jen May from our upcoming deck, the Spolia Tarot!
