until you open them in photoshop

taylortheferret  asked:

hii!!! do you have any tips on creating a color palette because every time I try it just doesn't look good together, even when i separate neutrals/brights/etc ;-;

well i’m not an expert at palettes or anything but here are some tips :-)

- i always put colours in groups for example if you look above - you can see them sorted into pairs or groups of three, that way they’re more cohesive

- just open up a document in photoshop and start eyedropping or picking colours you like, paint them onto the document and keep changing them until you’re happy - here are pics of me doing the newest palette (i scrapped the pastels ones on top haha) and my hair palette - you can see how me painting over and over stuff

- pull colours from pictures or things that inspire you or follow a theme

hopefully this helps!! :-)

Hello! I'm so sorry for asking such a basic thing, but... could I ask how you make gifs? The whole process, starting from downloading the episode, torrenting or whatever, etc... I can't even do that much so no matter how many tutorials I read or watch, I can't even open it in Photoshop or download it correctly. >.< Thank you!

Hiya!! No no don’t be sorry!! It took me a while to figure it out too when I first got started so I’m happy to help you! I will mention that I have a pc, not a mac, so I can only show you what I have. Also I’m super sorry for this late reply!

How do you make gifs?

This is fairly long as I tried to be as detailed as possible because I know when I first started making gifs it was all very confusing. Once you get the hang of it though, it really is quite easy!

By the end of this post you should be able to make gifs with text and a very simple colouring like the one below :)

hey!! i'm getting into editing sprites and all, but i have a question! how do you....well, change the color of sprites? such as their skin? or their hair? ; v ;

There are three ways to recolour things. All three ways sometimes require a bit of fixing, but let’s look at the two ways.

The first is to change the hue and the other is to make an overlay layer over something that is gray. The third is to use a multiply layer, but I usually do not recommend this.

For this demonstration, I’m going to be using my unit, Haruki. We’re going to ignore the error in his sprite where some of the gold parts are blue because I only noticed that while making this tutorial and I didn’t want to recapture the snapshots I had beforehand. See, even I make mistakes.

Disclaimer, this got a lot longer than I intended it to be.

How do your pictures always look so crisp and clear on my dash? Mine always turn out blurry until you open them. Thanks!!

Honestly, I had the same problem. You can always resize your image to whatever dimensions Tumblr decided was worthy of good quality. What I do which I accidentally found out that worked really well was combining all of my pictures into one with at most 4 (cropped) pics. I then use photoshop and mass edit all the combined pics with topaz and brighten the picture up a lot. It also helps to have your settings at the highest it can go (mine are ultra) but to have them stay crisp even before opening them, I suggest combining the pics into one photo :)

He Likes You

„Why?“ You glared at him with raised eyebrows while your lips made a pout.

„Because they’re fuck boys,“ he answered and shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

„What’s the perks of being friends with then? “ You said in a playful manner. He rolled his eyes at you and let out a gentle chuckle.

„Oh so that’s what this is? You’re only using me to get VIP tickets?“ He laughed and shook his head at you, acting as if he was disappointed. But he couldn’t fool you, the petite grin on his face gave him away.

Tire troubles: Custom Sigils for $1

So my tire popped and i need to help pay for two new ones (so that we can have two of the same tires on the front of our car so they wear down the same) I’m currently opening lineart commissions like these for $10:

However if you are a follower of mine here I can do custom Sigils for $1. Please message me off anon and i’ll get you my Paypal information. PLEASE ASK IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO NOT POST YOUR COMMISSION.

Previous Sigil examples as shown from when i did Trick or Treat a week or two ago:

All Sigils are hand drawn on Photoshop and are saved as transparent PNG files.

If these get really popular i might have to close them but until then these slots are unlimited.

And I can only do Payments through Paypal. Thank you for your understanding!

If you can’t commission me it would really help me out if you could reblog and spread the word around :’) Thanks guys!

anonymous asked:

how i can do "moriarty did you miss me?" gif?

hey, sorry for late reply

anyway, it’s actually pretty easy ( I made it with photoshop btw)
Firstly you take the picture and open it in ps (or any other art program)
select random areas from it..

..and create a new layer. Then you just drag it to another place, or scale it…

then  double click on the new created layer. a window with “layer style” should open.  you can see the RGB channels.

uncheck 2 of them ( for example G and B) and it should like this:

just repeat the steps from above until you’re happy with it and then there should be an option (when you’ve opened the animation menu) something like “create frames out of layers”  and that’s it.

anonymous asked:

Hello! I really love your blog and you. I have been wanting to do gifs for a while now but i have no idea how and with what and please could you teach me your ways? What do you use to make them?

okay first of all: thank you for the compliment and i love you too c:

now i’m gonna teach you how to make gifs in photoshop cs5 extended (it’s a little different because it has ‘timeline’)

first i open the video i want to gif in “kmplayer” (which means you have to have the vid downloaded on your computer) i’m gonna gif jongin’s exodus teaser x

when you find the scene you wanna gif, press ‘ctrl + g’ and a window should pop up

this is the setting i’m using:

you just press start, play the scene you wanna gif, pause the vid, press ‘ctrl + g’ again and and then press stop.

now open up your photoshop, make sure you have ‘animation (timeline)’ showing ((if you don’t, then go to the bar at the top -> window -> animation))

go file -> scripts -> load files into stack. a window will show up -> go browse and find the folder where you saved your screencaps and select them. wait until they’re loaded and press ‘ok’

after the pics are loaded, press ‘convert to frame animation’

then click on ‘make frames from layers’

then click on ‘reverse frames’, after they’ve reversed, click on ‘select all frames’ and left-click on one of them (click on the 0) and type ‘0,06’

now we’re gonna crop the gif and change it’s size so it fits tumblr (width 540px and size max 2mb) select the ‘rectangular marquee tool’ (just press M) and select the part of the gif you wanna keep. then go to the upper bar and select ‘image’ -> and crop. Now click on ‘image’ once again and select ‘image size…’ and type 540 in the width and press ok

The gif is basically finished by now, but you also want it to look good, of course. So you’re gonna select all the frames /and/ all the layers on the right and click on ‘convert to timeline’ (make sure the gif is around 1.7mb big in ‘save for web and devices’ (the size will be written in left corner))

then go to filter -> convert to smart filters and click ok. after that, click on filter -> sharpen -> smart sharpen

here are my settings:

now put on some psd (coloring) you can find them here: x (just open it in ps and /drag/ the psd on the gif.)

when you’re satisfied with the gif, click on file -> save for web and devices and save it ((it has to be smaller than 2mb tho!!)) and looping options : forever

here’s my gif:

if you have any questions, please ask me! also i’m really sorry if this doesn’t make any sense, english is not my first language c:

Background Tutorial

I’ve never written a tutorial before so please bare with me as I try to explain it the best I can. First, I use Murano’s Backdrop to take my screenshots and Photoshop CS6 to edit them.

Step One

  • Open your desired image and then click on the Magic Wand tool and select the background. Then, click on Refine Edges at the top.

Step Two

  • After clicking on Refine Edges, mess around with the settings until you get your desired edge smoothness. Click OK.

My settings are:

  • Radius: 1.0
  • Smooth: 9
  • Feather: 0.0
  • Contrast: 13
  • Shift Edge: 0
  • Output Amount: 33

Step Three

  • Duplicate your background layer and then color your background layer black or whatever color you want it to be.
  • Select the layer that was created when you clicked on Refine Edge and then hold CTRL while clicking on the layer mask.
  • Then select your duplicated background layer and hit delete.
  • Go back and select the layer with the mask and delete it or hide it.

Step Four

  • Google for a background or texture you like and open it in PS.
  • Drag the background or texture to your screenshot and position the layer to rest behind your cutout.

Viola! Now you can flatten your image and play around with your actions until you get a desired look!

I hope this all made sense, if not I’m sorry but I tried my best to explain how I do it.
