The last installment of the short lived Uniqlo x Undercover collaboration was revealed to the public through an online look book and campaign shots this past week. The Jun Takahashi designed menswear label Undercover runs under the slogan “We Make Noise Not Clothes” and is a hybrid of high fashion and street wear. Uniqlo, like Undercover, is a Japanese label that tends to cater to a more youthful clientele, but with a much friendlier price point for teenagers. It is renowned for its basics and designer collaborations with the likes of Jil Sander and Alexandre Plokhov.

The fall/winter 2012 season saw a darker color pallet and heavier focus on outerwear than in the last season of the collaboration. Takahashi kept the pants slim and cuffed, reflecting current trends influenced by indie bands like The Drums and the tailored menswear scene in downtown New York. Key outerwear pieces included fishtail parkas that heralded back to the English Mod mania of the early 60’s and early 80’s, and dual fabric fitted jackets with shorter lengths than usual. The collection hits stores August 31, 2012.
