I started drawing this comic a few months ago now. I thumbnailed the whole thing (it was supposed to be maybe another third longer than this) but a combination of IRL stuff and dissatisfaction at my ability to draw what I wanted stopped me from finishing it. I am happy with parts of it, though, so I thought I’d put it up.
Uncle Gobo just struck me as someone who was chronically unable to make the best of an undesirable situation. He was clearly stuck with looking after Matt against his will, but he also made it about ten times worse for both himself and his oblivious little doof of a nephew with his rotten attitude. I guess I wanted to explore how deep that attitude ran, and what it would take to break it.
Also I do not think that Uncle Gobo would have taken the aftermath of Matt’s discovery of the Gorg’s Garden at all well. It’s hard enough to be shoved off your pedastal, even harder when the push comes from someone who isn’t even self-aware enough to understand that you’re jealous of their success.
Fraggles are a noble race - fearless, dignified, and intellectual. They represent the very pinnacle of civilization and culture. A Fraggle is most assuredly the best of all possible creatures. Music is the greatest of the Fraggles’ art forms, but Fraggles also possess uncanny curiosity and great athletic ability. Fraggles naturally have physical prowess and a dance-like grace.
