So in the fourth one, Lane is trying to recover from being tortured and Kacie is a little mopey about how she’s basically engaged to a prince on the other side of the Milky Way.
And Uncle Merv is like “I MADE A SPACESHIP!”
Of course Lane is like “TEACH ME HOW TO FLY THIS, I NEED TO KILL THOSE MUTHERTRUCKERS!”
And Kacie is like “Lane, we need to be peaceful! We’re a small, unarmed planet! We can’t defend ourselves if you go around blowing up aliens!”
but honestly, if I was Lane, I think I would be the same. She has just what she needs to take down the people that hurt her. the hell she went through. Of course she’s angry. She’s never going to be okay.
Is it sad that I picture Uncle Merv to be like Bobby Singer
like, in the first one, he’s only there half of the time, and that’s to help save the day at the end
in the second one, he’s gone for long stretches of time and tells Kacie to look after herself and Lane, and if they need to, they can totally give Kacie’s old nanny a call, who is basically part of the family…
and then in the third book, Merv is like “Kacie, you are a big girl, you can take care of yourself, i love you, but i need to leave for a bit.” and that’s how kacie and lane go missing for a long period of time and only Peter and Gabe notice
so then THE FOURTH ONE, Kacie rehires the nanny to help with Lane healing, and Unvle Merv reveals what he’s been working on for a year and more stuff, I’m sure
and then eventually what if the PRESIDENT GETS INVOLVED
