Yay I am ace and I got a wonderful girlfriend (I am girl) and she doesn't really think she's ace but she is not mad at me! She is chill. We snuggle and eat pretzels and watch Doctor Who. Everything is nice and she is trying to get me to learn quantum physics. I just want to be a voice who says that things will be alright, since a lot of anons seem uncheerful

This is so cute, I think I melted. Thank you for sharing! I’m glad your girlfriend accepts you:)

After cleaning up the glass, Roman walked back to his room. When he got there, he shut the door, started pacing around the room, and let his creative gears turn.

Roman started muttering to himself, “So I must lessen the ego… lessen the ego… how do I lessen the ego? Well, lessening the ego is part of Anxiety’s job, and I’m supposed make it be as grand as it can be. But Anxiety isn’t able to do his job by himself anymore, for I’ve been too much. Anxiety must’ve gotten help from Logan, for Logan wouldn’t be callous towards me just for the sake of being callous towards me.. He doesn’t hate me. I know he doesn’t hate me, there is reason for this. Nevertheless, Anxiety should be able to do this job on his own, so I need to tone it down. I already tried not being so flamboyant, but that’s not working. What else can I do… What else can I do… C’mon! I’m creativity! I should be able to figure this out!? I could be more complacent. Perhaps, I must also start thinking differently? I guess I could think more negatively, so whenever I unconsciously think something too egotistical, I could consciously correct myself. Hmm… yes, this could work… Right so now all I have to do is try doing these things when interacting with other sides. Back to the commons it is!”

Roman walked through the door of the commons and saw Patton cooking, Logan reading on the couch, and Virgil near him scrolling through Tumblr. Patton saw Roman enter and exclaimed, “Hey there, Roman!”

As roman walked over to the kitchen area, he noticed Virgil nudging Logan and saying something hushed to the logical side. Roman didn’t dwell on that interaction, and instead replied, “Hello Patton. How has your day been?”

“Wow, you actually care about someone else’s day other than your own?” Virgil said, rolling his eyes.

“C’mon Virgil, play nice,” said Patton, as he used his stern dad look.

“Yeah, sorry or whatever,” huffed Virgil.

“…thanks,” Roman said dryly.

“No creo que seas lo suficientemente inteligente para entender, así que te lo explicaré. Virgil no quería decir esa disculpa. La única razón de su disculpa fue apaciguar a Patton”

“Yo sé… uh gracias por decir eso en caso de que no sé.” Roman grimaced.  He desperately wanted to quip back to Logan, but he had to try to remain complacent

“Ooooh, Logan you know Spanish too now? That’s awesome! Guys, guys, am I saying this right: la biblioteca?”

“Yeah, it’s perfect Patton,” Roman said in an uncheerful tone as he decided upon leaving the room. Roman felt quite agitated at Logan. ‘I don’t think you’re smart enough to understand, so I’ll explain. Virgil didn’t mean his apology. The only reason he apologized was to appease Patton.’ Of course I know that! I really wish I wasn’t trapped in this need to make the ego smaller so I could say something other than ‘I know… uh thanks for telling me in case I didn’t know.’

HARRY’S P.O.V

“Hey man, what happened?,” Ed asked me, once the girls left. His back was now facing the door as he stood in front of me. “What happened between you and Henley?”

I shrugged, looking down at my shoes. “Things have changed, Ed”

“But… why?,” he still sounded like he couldn’t believe it, and it was already starting to make me feel like shit. “I mean, you and Henley… you guys were inseparable!”

“Yeah, were,” I took a sip of my beer. “It was actually me, mate. People started to acknowledge me once I made it to the football team. Henley’s story is different, she hangs out with the outsiders, if you could call them that. I mean, don’t get me wrong, they’re great! They are absolutely great, but… I’m a guy. I can’t deny that I love being acknowledged, I love when people smile and wave at me through the halls and are friendly towards me, I love the sound of cheering whenever me and the team go out into the field and call our names. I love all of that”

He shook his head. “I don’t think that’s a valid reason to pull away from Henley. Harry, for God’s sake, I know you’re better than that! You do know that you could keep all of those things and still maintain your deep friendship with her!”

“Yeah, I guess,” I said, taking another sip. “But, I just… I don’t want her, or them, to get hurt”

Ed furrowed his eyebrows. “Why would they get hurt?”

“Because some of my friends tend to be jerks,” I answered. “I’ve seen them do bad stuff to people they think ‘don’t matter’. And I’m such a coward that I don’t do anything about it. And if they know that I was ever friends with Henley and the others, I’m pretty sure they’ll kick me out of the team, 'cause they can’t cope with 'losers’. And then they’ll just make all of our lives miserable”

“So, you’re just gonna stop talking to her because THEY wouldn’t want you being friends with her? And because you think they’ll do terrible stuff to her and her friends?” He said raising an eyebrow at me.

“I just don’t want her to get hurt” I said.

I’m gonna be very honest. I miss Henley. Like crazy. I hang out with these guys, but they don’t really care about how I’ve been or if something’s wrong, with the exception of a few. Henley, on the other side, was always curious about the things I’ve done and vice versa. It was always easy to talk to her and she was always there when I needed her. On top of that, there wasn’t a single day when we wouldn’t laugh. Even when one of us was feeling upset, we always found a way to make each other laugh, laugh at the stupidest little things. And I watch her every day, alongside our friends (They’re still friends for me), and I just wanna go there and hug them all so tight. Because for me they are my real friends, even if they think I forgot about them.

“How long have you guys been without talking to each other?” Ed asked me, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I looked up at him. “About… a year or so”

“God damn,” he muttered. “And how’s that been for you?”

I gave an uncheerful chuckle. “Hell. I never thought these guys would want me to spend every second of the day with them. But they have a lot of power at school. Their parents are wealthy people and some of them are your classic douchebags bullies, you don’t wanna mess with them. I’d be dammed if I ever tried to stand up to them, especially this guy called Ned. He’s the most horrible of them all and he’s always making fun of the 'nobodies’ of school. He also has a temper. A bad one. And I can never bring myself to say no to him. Actually, no one does”

“Is he part of the football team, then?”

“No,” I replied. “But even if he’s not, he could get me out of it in a flash”

Ed sighed. “Wow, Harry. It’s sad. I mean, everyone at your school probably thinks that you have a perfect life without any worries. But I can see how much you miss her. Of course you do, you’re in love with her!”

“I…” that caught me off guard. “I’m not in love with her!”

He laughed. “That is bullshit, my friend! I saw the way you looked at her! It was almost disguised, but I totally know that you love her!”

“Shut up, Ed, I’m not in love with her!,” I protested as he kept laughing. I was pretty sure my face was red by now. “And even if I was 'in love’ with her, she wouldn’t feel the same. She probably hates me!”

He rolled his eyes. “Typical. Harry, I don’t think she could ever hate you, no matter what happened between you two. She’s a sweet girl. A strong one, too, and I’m pretty sure she denies her feelings just how you’re doing right now. Because you’re both too stubborn and stupid”

I wasn’t sure about what I should say to that. For some reason, my mouth and my brain didn’t cooperate, so I just stared at Ed with a blank expression. Placing his hands firm on my shoulders, he continued speaking. “Listen to me, Harry. Try to fix things with her and the others. I can see how you’re hurting, mate. If it were me in your place, I wouldn’t care about the other people. I wouldn’t care that there were dangerous people that could make my life miserable just because I hang out with a bunch of 'losers’. If I wanna be with someone, I’ll be with someone. And I know you wanna be with Henley, but you’re letting everything else get in the way of that! Don’t do the things that you don’t wanna do, because then you will really regret it”

Every now and then he would give me a small shake, as if he was trying to get me to snap out of it. He was right, though. I wanna get the old times back with Henley, sit down and talk with her for hours, just like yesterday at her house. I want to hug her tight and see her beautiful smile every day, but I want to be the cause of it. I want to catch up with the others as well and laugh along as they joked around without a care in the world. I want to go to the movies with them, or to the mall, or maybe even to the park. I want to go to Henley’s house and just lay around with her and do nothing, because even like that, I love spending time with her.

Before I could say something, someone walked into the kitchen. I groaned mentally, seeing that it was none other than Amanda, with a very short and tight dress and her lipstick almost invisible and smudged, indicating that she was making out with someone. You could tell she was drunk just by the way she almost stumbled walking in her high heels. “Hey there, Harry,” she said, smirking. “Wanna come and dance with me?”

“No” I answered, Ed staring at her in a confused way.

Then, he said, “I’m gonna leave now. I wanna go find that girl we saw earlier, uh… Valerie was her name?,” I nodded. He patted my shoulder. “Good. Well, I’ll see you later, bro. Think about what I told you”

Giving me one last pat, he walked past Amanda and left the room, leaving me alone with her. I could smell the cigarette and alcohol mixing together as she walked closer towards me, and I was trying hard not to vomit. I hated the smell of cigarettes and I certainly hated her. “What’s wrong, Harry?,” She asked, running her hands up and down my chest slowly, trying to be seductive. “You seem off tonight”

“I’m not,” I said. “I just don’t like to be around you”

She fake pouted. “Why not? That’s not what you said when you asked me to be your girlfriend”

“Yeah, well, I was drugged back then, and I don’t even consume drugs,” I said. “Honestly, I don’t know what I saw in you because you’re one of the most horrible people I’ve ever met”

She chuckled, her hands going lower and lower. “Is this about me cheating on you? Because if it is… I could make it up to you”

When her fingers reached my pants, I quickly grabbed them and placed them on her sides. “You’re crazy if you think I would ever go back with you,” I said, glaring at her. “I’m leaving now”

“Fine!,” she said as I started walking away. “I’ll just look for some other guy, I don’t need you!”

“That is your specialty after all” I told her before I left the kitchen.

What Ed said really left me thinking. I found myself trying to look for Henley, because I just wanted to at least see her. I knew I was the last person she wanted to see, but Ed was right. I couldn’t throw our friendship away just like that! I knew I messed up big time, I’ve done it for a year, but I think there’s still time to fix it. And that was exactly what I was gonna do now.

The first person I spotted was Emily, who had her arms wrapped around some guy’s neck, both of them dancing as they laughed with each other. “Emily!” I called her name, reaching her.

Turning around to look at me, her smile faded. “Harry? Uh, hi, It’s… It’s been a while!”

“Yeah,” I said, the guy also looking at me curiously. “Listen, have you seen Henley?”

“Umm… not really,” she said loudly through the music. “I lost track of her a while ago, sorry”

I nodded. “That’s okay. I’ll see you around, I guess!”

At the dining room, filled with people playing cards or playing beer pong, I spotted Amy making out with Michael on a corner, much to my surprise. I didn’t even know they knew each other! But then again, it could’ve just been some drunk action. I’ve never heard Michael mention her name, but whatever, maybe it just happened randomly. So, I just decided not to ask them about Henley, and I walked out.

Heading towards the backyard, passing by the people smoking weed and making out, I saw Louis, Niall, Ray, Joseph, Luke, Ashton and Calum all together, laughing hysterically with drinks in their hands. Niall was the first one to spot me. “Eeeey Haaaarreeeh!”

The others repeated the same action and I had to hold back my laughter because of how extremely drunk all of them were. “Come join us, curly boy!,” Ashton said, holding up a bottle of beer. “These guys are simply amazing”

“Yesss,” Calum agreed, wrapping an arm around Louis and planting a kiss on his head. “They are really nice guys”

“You guys,” Louis said, sounding as if he was gonna cry. “Stop it, I’m emotional! I love you all!”

As they all embraced each other in a group hug, I rolled my eyes. “Has any of you seen Henley somewhere?”

“Oh, you mean the girl with the long brown hair and the brown eyes and the rosy lips and the short dress?” Joseph said.

“Yeah, that one” I nodded.

“Ummm… Ray, where is she?” He asked Ray.

“Well,” Ray started. “I’m not really sure, but I think…. I think she’s at Luke’s party”

Whilst I rolled my eyes once more, Luke seemed confused. “But wait… where are we, then?”

All of then started to look around. “I have… absolutely no idea” Niall said, the others starting to laugh once more.

I knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere with these guys, so I just let them be and made my way inside again, this time heading to the living room.

Finally, after feeling like forever without a clue, I found her. But she wasn’t being her usual self. On top of a table, surrounded by people, she was dancing to the song playing. She seemed like she didn’t have a care in the world, and she seemed drunk. Too drunk, really. I mean, I’ve never seen her drink so this was probably her first time getting drunk, because she seemed out of control. Yet, at the same time, she looked so cute. Her hips swaying to the rythim of the song, her feet bare because she probably got tired already of using heels, her face a mixture of wildness and relaxation, it was hard not to stare at her. It seemed that in that moment, she was invincible, and the world wouldn’t turn if she didn’t. It was like she was our queen, a goddess, all attention going to her and her beauty. And I smiled for no reason, enjoying the view of her being happy and carefree for the night.

When the song was over, I could see her preparing to jump into the crowd, so I just ran towards her whilst others just stepped back. Closing her eyes, her whole body fell in my arms, me adjusting her so she didn’t get hurt. “Thanks, friend!” She said cheerfully.

“Henley, you’re drunk,” I told her, trying not to laugh at her silliness. “We need to get you out of here before you start doing something crazier”

She seemed to realize it was me because her expression slightly changed. “Oh, It’s just you. Leave me alone, will you?”

I couldn’t help but to roll my eyes at her. “I won’t leave you like this,” Carrying her bridal style, I heard her squeal. “Let’s go, I’ll take you outside”

Feeling her arms wrap around my neck, I started making my way out towards the front porch. Reaching the front door, I exited the house. Thankfully, no one was there, and it wasn’t as noisy as it was inside. I placed Henley on the bench, making sure that she didn’t fall. But I kept holding her arm just in case. “Why did you take me here?” She asked, looking lost.

“Because you were going crazy in there” I chuckled.

“Hey, I’m not crazy!,” She said, pouting. “Anyway, I would rather be there instead of here with you”

My stomach dropped. It did seem hurt her a lot more than I thought it did. “I know. That’s why I wanted to fix things”

Her face turned from annoyance to confusion. “What things? Like a car or something like that?”

Shaking my head, I cupped her face in my hands so she could look at me and keep her full attention on what I was saying. “Our friendship, Henley,” I answered softly. “I want to go back to the way we used to be. When we would be together talking about whatever came to our minds, no matter what it was. Or when we just did random stuff and just enjoyed each other’s company”

“Ooooh” was all she said, sounding like a little kid.

I couldn’t help the smile that came onto my face. She was an adorable type of drunk. “Exactly. And I wanted to apologize for what I said earlier today… about not needing you and all”

She giggled. “You’re weird. But I like your hair”

Her hand went up to ruffle my hair and I grabbed it, joining it with her other hand. Her hands were so small, both of them fitted perfectly in my own. “Maybe we should talk about this when you’re in a better condition”

She giggled once more amd saluted at me. “Oki Doki, sir”

I laughed at her and she joined, probably not even knowing what I was laughing about. But she was being too silly, I didn’t even question her laugh. When we stopped laughing, I ran my thumb over her soft cheek, her eyes gazing at mine. She was so beautiful. “Your eyes are really pretty” she whispered.

“Your eyes are pretty, too” I whispered, earning a small laugh from her as she bit her bottom lip.

I couldn’t help but to stare at it. It was like she was doing it to tease me. I had to admit it, she looked hot when she did it. And I found myself staring at her intensely, our eyes never breaking contact. And then I found myself leaning in. And then she started leaning in as well, but very very slowly. Why were we doing it? I had no idea. But at the moment, I didn’t care. My mind was starting to wonder how her lips would taste like, how they would feel like against mine, and how good of a kisser she was. I wanted to kiss her, for some unexplainable reason. And we would’ve kissed… if she didn’t pull away. Her eyes went wide as she covered her mouth with her hand. “Wha-what happened? What’s wrong?” I asked her.

She didn’t answer. Instead, she stood up and ran towards the nearest bush. And that’s when it hit me. So I ran towards her side and pulled her hair back as she hunched over, vomiting all the alcohol that she consumed tonight. I started to rub her back with my free hand, her gagging being the only thing heard, despite the loud music from inside. But I’d rather be here, watching Henley throw up, than going back to the party full of drunk and hormonal teens. Because I realized that I wanted to choose Henley over everything else.
