Children of the Greek Gods, the Olympians

Zeus
Those born to the King of the Gods are not to be trifled with, for they radiate strength and command. Electricity flares at the tips of their fingers, lightning running through their veins and setting their blood alight. They are the approaching storm, the bolt racing towards battle with a grin on their face and power in their hands.

Hera
Chosen rather than born of the Goddess of marriage, Hera’s favoured share her majesty and pride. Powerful, wise, and at times intimidating, these individuals can be incredible allies or enemies to be feared. They form strong bonds with family, whom they will defend vehemently. Insult them or their family at your peril.

Poseidon
Their steps send tremors through the earth, their ears ring with the steady beat of the tide, the scent of the sea consumes their senses. Children of the sea, born amongst the waves, they take strength from their father’s realm. They are as adaptable as the element they command, as dangerous as the storms their father creates on a whim.

Hades
Ink shadows, haunting whispers in the night, the chill of a passing spirit. Hades’ children share their father’s realm, holding sway over the dead and the black rock of the underworld. Ghostly auras and ancient burial grounds call to them, and they know that one day they will rest forever in their father’s halls.

Athena
They spring forth from the thoughts of the goddess, a culmination of their mortal parent’s intelligence and Athena’s divinity. Purposeful, achieving beyond all expectations, they seek knowledge, display skill and strategy. They are the calm leaders, the thinkers of tomorrow, these beautiful minds.

Aphrodite
The parting of perfect lips, delicate lashes fluttering, fingertips trailing across smooth skin. They charm with a look, a soft smile melting hearts. Aphrodite’s children inherit her grace and lure, promoting love and passion as their mother has done for millennia. Love is love and they are its ultimate champions.

Ares
The smell of leather and sweat, feet pounding against the earth, calloused hands clasped around blood-tipped daggers. Ares’ children are the fighters, the ones to jump head first into danger with a smirk on their face. These skilled individuals live for the battle, their blood running hot with the gifts of their father.

Hephaestus
With flame and tools these demigods may create wonders, crafting and sculpting with a finesse not seen wielded by any mortal. They create life from metal, constantly building, tinkering, discovering. With a command over fire and active minds, Hephaestus’ children will excel wherever their heart takes them.

Apollo
Sunlight paints their skin, dips their fingers in gold. Apollo’s children are the warmth of a new day, eyes shining with visions- of the future, of possibilities. Their hands create exquisite worlds within their art, their lips enchanting with words; poetic, lyrical, melodic. Yet, cross these golden demigods and beware, for their hands may also sow sorrow in the form of disease.

Artemis
Goddess of virginity and protector of young girls, her adopted children are the Hunters of Artemis. She takes the worthy in, those with strength running through their veins; hidden or not. Their aim never wavers, their feet sprint along wooded paths as if they’ve known the forests their whole lives, following prey with hunter’s intuition.

Demeter
The earth shifts at their feet, sprouting blossoms and leaving a wake of greenery as they pass. With fingers trailing through the wheat, Demeter’s children cultivate and raise the world’s gardens. They oversee the seasons, putting the grain to rest as winter falls and breathing life into the buds at the first sign of spring.

Hermes
A whisper as they pass, a mischievous laugh, the barely there echo of their winged feet, and the lightening of your pockets as they make use of their sticky fingers. Cunning, swift, and precise, these demigods share their father’s quick-wits and fast feet. They are the pranksters, the thieves, the athletes of this world, and the ones it would pay not to underestimate, for their potential is endless.

Dionysus
There is a wild side to all children of Dionysus, madness and excitement are all the same to them. They’ll pull you into a party in a whirlwind of concentrated mayhem; drinks flowing from their fingers, eyes dancing with ecstasy, music vibrating through their souls. Whether inducing frenzy or pouring wine, they possess the same chaotic, enthralling nature as their father, liberators of inhibition.

Hestia
Warmth, peace, and affection radiate from Hestia’s children. Born of the hearth, the virgin goddess’ offspring are beings of the home. They stoke the fire with a wave of their hands, ease growing conflict with a non-confrontational smile, and create enticing dishes with the barest of ingredients. They may  not seem as powerful as other demigods, yet, respect to them and their mother is always given, for she is the first born of the gods.

“Oh, dammit!”

Marinette called out from the kitchen with her mouth full. “What?”

Chloe was standing in front of the apartment windows with her hands on her hips. “Are you seeing what’s outside right now?”

“The sky, hopefully.”

No! I mean what’s in the sky! Come, this is an emergency!”

She rolled her eyes, left her empty breakfast plate on the kitchen table, and looped around the corner, jokingly mirroring Chloe’s position in front of the window. “What’s the emergency?”

Chloe scoffed and turned to Marinette. “Are you serious right now? You see this, don’t you?”

“Yes, I see it, what’s your point?”

“What the hell!? That’s my point!

Marinette’s eyes widened and she laid a gentle hand on Chloe’s shoulder. “Oh my gosh, wait. I’m being so insensitive. Sometimes I forget that you’re so sheltered you’ve never seen snow before. This must be a shock for you.”

Chloe shrugged Marinette’s hand off with a glare while Marinette threw her head back and cackled. “Oh, shut up! That’s not what I meant!”

“Darling, it’s winter time. It’s cold out. It snows. These are all very normal things.”

“We were supposed to get our hair done today,” Chloe muttered. “I wanted to take you to that Indian restaurant I found the other day, too. We haven’t gone out in forever.”

Their apartment windows were completely whited out from all the snow that was falling. It was hard to see many of the buildings that were right next to theirs. It was more snow than they’d ever gotten in a while, and she was sure it wasn’t going to let up until later this evening. She wrinkled her nose. “Yeah, I don’t think this is weather to be going anywhere in.”

“You’d think it’d have the decency to warn us in advance when this sort of thing is going to happen.”

Marinette smirked. “It being the weather?”

“Obviously.”
