Summary: Draco Malfoy is waiting for his real life to begin, and it appears that he’s not the only one. Coffee, charity, and the wisdom of the elderly.
Review: Ugh I have so much love for this fic! This was such an earnest and charming and refreshing story, with just the most amazing character development ever. Draco works for a charity after the war, but his job is on the line unless he can convince Harry Potter, who has become an absolute recluse after the war, to come to a charity function.
There’s so much that makes this story complete and wholesome, with all the amazing secondary characters, the little details here and there that give such life to this story, the exceedingly believable way Harry and Draco interact with each other and their post-war personalities.
I absolutely loved how stubborn Draco was, how he refused to take all the post-war prejudice thrown his way lying down and practically bullied his way into Harrys life - pure genius! And how Draco’s reasons to get Harry to listen to him and come out into public gradually shift from self serving to his just wanting Harry to progress was just the most wonderful thing to see from a readers perspective.
Gosh this was so tantalisingly slow burn, while still being so fulfilling. Towards the end all you want to do is fervently shake Harry and Draco and force them to smooch - thankfully we have a secondary character in the form of a charming old lady looking out for our interests in the story :D
