Mayumi Yamamoto, was the finalist of the Alexander McQueen Fashion Design Contest in 2011.

A photograph of this piece was shown to me by fashion curator Tony Charalambous, when he visited University of Brighton to give VAS talk (www.ubvas.tumblr.com). It has really stuck in my head an ethereal garment. I am careful about using the word kitsch here, because it is associated with a lack of quality, but I feel there is a slightly ironic sense that I am aware of its basic constructed form, yet it brings up feelings of being transcended.
