Is it just my or is Tyranny Rex one of those kind of characters who never really found an audience at the time, but would probably be really massive if they were created today?

As massive as a british comic book character could be? Yes, but with a caveat: only if John Smith were writing her as he writes now. Because if OG Tyranny Rex was inscrutable for audiences in the late goddamn ‘80s, there is no way in hell she’d be palatable for ‘10s’ comic book readers. Present-day Smith is a lot more clear and straightforward in his storytelling, and since Tyranny strikes a decent balance between Halo Jones’ normal girl shtick and Durham Red’s attitude-filled space vixen, it could work pretty well.

Also, here’s a thought: Tyranny Rex by John Smith and Emma Rios.
