Here are images of a workshop that we did on typographic detailing.

“Working in pairs

Explore setting text using the following constraints, expressing different hierarchies of information.

Constraints include the following into an A4 double page spread. 40 mins design & print PLUS 15 min crit per exercise.

1 – One typeface, one weight, one size, one size leading, one colour

2 – One typeface, one weight

3 – One typeface”

We were given 3 stages in which we had limitations for laying out and designing a given piece of text for channel 4.

I found this task to be very helpful in finding out my weaknesses with in Indesign and time keeping. It is actually very difficult to create a hierarchy with in a body of text with out any particular guidelines along with the above limitations.

Typographic Detailing, Just My Type Posters

A range of posters showing how typographic detailing can link typographic elements together. Designed with Sarah Knight, last summer.

The posters were designed to highlight the importance of typographic detailing. Explaining how these small considerations in typography can make a huge different. It shows how these elements can bring the words together and clarify their correct meaning.

Sailing silently over the sea
I am here or there; elsewhere
My soul rests in peace
At shores of great silence
The storm is over
In my end is my beginning

This is a set of commemorative postcards from my Timeless Moments promo campaign. Timeless Moments is a commemorative walk that honours the victims of the Port Arthur Massacre which took place in Tasmania (Australia) in 1996.
