You can be depressed and still have joy. You can be suicidal and still have joy. We all stop thinking and we all stop talking and we all stop sharing and we all stop creating, because by doing any of these things we quickly find out just how unhappy we are. But that’s okay. That’s normal. Don’t let the fear of unhappiness cripple your pursuit of finding what it is you believe.
Sometimes we need to stop and remind ourselves how lucky we are to have the people we do in our lives. I am blessed to have so many creative friends doing so many creative things: some are musicians, some are painters, some are hand-letter and calligraphy experts, some are chefs that create ninja underground catered meals that pop up all over a city at random times; some take beautiful photographs, some excel at looking beautiful in photographs, some illustrate words I write and bring them to life, some have steady hands and tattoo ink into my flesh so I can carry their art with me, always. Some, make stunning blankets, some knit hats, and some, make candles.
Thanks go out this morning to my friends who run @pfcandleco for sending one of their new Nightshade candles my way. Seek out your creativity, and seek out the creatives. I promise you that life will become so much richer. Thank you, to all the creative artists I am so lucky to know.
