“We all have one thing in common - we want to be loved for who we are. We need to celebrate our differences. For instance, I’m gay. I’m not bragging about it but I’ve always been afraid to say it and I’m not anymore. I want this place to be a safe space where everyone feels free to be themselves. Welcome to Degrassi.”

1/5 cs & oq are textbook cases of abusive relationships. Both men showed incredible senses of entitlement towards each woman. Look at Hook from day one - he even forced himself on Emma at one point for christs sake. Not to mention he treats her like garbage. Their relationship is in this awful place where he treats her like shit, & she's in a mind space where she thinks that's all she's worthy of - her self worth is that low. As if that's the best treatment she is deserving of.

2/5 And Regina? That’s an even more disturbing coupling. He’s fucking around with other women, ditching his wife, and demands sex from Regina. And she’s with him because “The Universe” & “Magic” has determined this dude as her only, last shot at happiness. Her desperation, to do and put up with literally any shitty treatment, was sickening to watch. I’m really not sure which of the two relationships, oq or cs, is worse. They are both case studies in what young women should avoid at all costs.

3/5 The shows message at this point, which started off in S1 so hopefully, with strong female characters, & was to be about mothers, daughters & family, is now all preaching the message that a women’s worth & happiness is determined by a man, and she should put up with whatever BS & shitty treatment he sends her way. The reason that cs & oq fans hate SQ is because their own pairing lack any real substance. SQ has, over time, developed real depth, substance & mutual respect - and they see it.

It means something to Emma & Regina, & you can see it in their every interaction onscreen. Compared to oq & cs, it’s authentic & genuine - everything their pairing lacks. All the events, season endings, challenges they’ve faced, their son, the shear amount of emotion the two have shared ,when they are normally so closed off to everyone else (even their supposed boyfriends), what they’ve been willing to risk & go through for each other - oq & cs would KILL for 5% of that. Heck, for even 1%.

5/5 It must kill them to know their coupling exists solely due to the writers inserting these people as love interests - they serve no other function. Look at Hood - he’s of no use now. Gone (albeit coming back briefly so Regina can moon over her life that’s garbage now that he’s gone - YEAH RIGHT!). As to the cs wedding I heard maybe happening? If death can be undone, so can Emma’s lobotomy. Why the fuck would she marry that asshole? This show is a exercise in how not to treat women jfc.

(Some parts bolded for emphasis. Thanks for the precise summary!)

Didn’t you do this(left her key in his car) all on purpose to try and seduce me?

1/2 I find it curious that 6/7 seasons in now, and the two ladies & their beards still have not had TLK. The show even set it up to happen - & it failed every time. Why put it off, if its so locked & confirmed? And those relationships? Regina was clearly only with RH because the universe told her it was her only chance (a woman of course only able to be happy hitched to a man). Her desperation was nauseating. She was never happy, & the whole thing reeked of her staying with him out of hope.

2/2 And Emma? Putting aside the abusive roots of their relationship, and the fact he treats her like garbage & takes her love for granted, Emma always looks miserable. Its not happiness, or lust, or arousal. Its relief almost. Relief that this person, even though they treat me badly, says they love me and won’t leave me. Like thats the best she deserves or can hope for. I was abandoned all my life, but this person wants me, so thats good enough. Its passionless.

Well…

  • Everyone: You don't get to say who lives and who dies
  • Clarke: ok but what is the plan in case nightblood doesn't work out?
  • Everyone: Well.......we do nothing and just hope for the best and...um...ANYWAY IT'S NOT YOUR JOB TO PLAY GOD.
  • Clarke: YOU THINK I WANT THIS JOB? WHO WANTS THIS JOB?? I DON'T WANT THIS JOB BUT PEOPLE LITERALLY KEEP ASKING ME TO DO THIS JOB???????? I AM SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD FFS.

Guys

We established 3 arcs ago that my Chara and AFAC’s Chara are incredibly different

Plan wise/personality wise/identity wise…other than their name, look (which even then is different), and relation to the storyline, these two Chara’s are completely different people.

Therefore, you cannot expect THIS Chara to be driven out like AFAC’s

This is a completely different universe. I am inviting you to be creative with this.

Day Two:

This is going to be similar to last year in that I am stringing the days together to make a longer love story that takes place over several years.  You have Em to thank for that.  And also for the tattoos.

So I suppose that these are dedicated to her.

“How was your exam today?”

Matthew looked wryly over his shoulder at him.

“Let’s just say that this hurts less.”

Gilbert snorted and focused on the tattoo unfolding under his hands.

That single line from a year ago had become a brilliant array of stained glass pieces that crawled up his arm.  It was hard to see the pattern at first but the pieces started to come together into colourful birds on his upper arm before the stained glass exploded into feathers and more realistic birds as the tattoo looped around to his shoulder blade.

Gilbert was working on a dove at the moment.

“That good, huh?”

“Worse.”
