twin calves

me: *listens to jolene*

me: harry and louis literally sat on that hillside in the pouring rain in the middle of the night and helped birth those twin calves, those calves were a miracle, those calves were harry and louis’ love calves

A Manatee nurses her twin calves in Blue Spring State Park, Florida. Twins are very rare for Manatees. Mothers nurse their young for one to two years. !!!!!!!!!!!!! please tell me you're going to share your headcanons. like, what happens when lou goes to university??? them meeting the parents????? weddings???????? babies???????? AAAAAAAAAAAH it was flawless i love your stories you're such great writers and we're so lucky to have you.

oh thank you so much! i am so glad you liked it!! :)) we really appreciate the feedback so much!!

And definitely we will share some head canons!  okay, here is one of my faves we came up with so far:

So like, when Harry and Louis have youngish kids, like 7 or 8 or 9 years old or something, they tend to think of Harry as their cowboy dad and Louis as their regular dad.  (even though he obviously helps out around the ranch from time to time and is the cool dad to harry’s dork dad)  But then one time Louis has just come home from a day of lawyering (he does stuff for the Llewellyns and also runs a sort of legal aid type organization in Sheridan) and the kids start saying stuff, sort of teasing Louis about Harry maybe being a more tough dad than him, since Harry’s out on the ranch all day doing sweat inducing tasks and Louis wears a tie.  And then Harry comes sauntering in from the kitchen and makes them all sit down on the couch and proceeds to do a highly dramatic retelling of the story of Sally and Paul’s birth, with Louis as the hero.  like, he tells them how he was scared and would never have been able to handle it all on his own without Louis, and how Louis saved the day delivering Paul and stuff even though he was scared too and had never done that before!!!  And then of course he gives them a little bit of a talk about how there are different kinds of toughness and how it’s okay not to be tough too, it’s okay to be vulnerable and need help sometimes.  And Louis smiles at him the whole time and adds in little comments of his own.  And then they all have dinner together and are happy!!! Okay and also their kids think about the story of Jolene and Sally and Paul as a kind of legend after that and ask them to tell it all the time!!!!  Like, yanking on Harry’s arm. “Tell us about Dad! Tell us about Dad helping you deliver the twin calves!!”

A type C killer whale mother and an adult individual with what appears to be twin calves swimming in Ross Sea pack ice. Multiple births among cetaceans is extremely rare. This is the only documented sighting of twin killer whales (though mentions a case of twins in B.C., in which the calves’ fates are unknown)! It may seem like these orcas are caught by the ice and are forced to share this opening to breathe, but I doubt that because Antarctic killer whales are well adapted to their icy, frozen environment. #AntarcticOrcas
