Viola Davis will star in and produce a biopic on the life of Harriet Tubman on HBO, the movie is based on the 2004 book, “Bound for the Promised Land Harriet Tubman Portrait: of an American Hero” by historian Kate Clifford Larson.

And Aisha Hinds is playing Harriet Tubman in WGN America’s Underground.

And Cynthia Erivo will play the iconic abolitionist Harriet Tubman in the upcoming Macro/New Balloon biopic, HARRIET.

“I live in two worlds. One is a world of books. I’ve been a resident of Faulkner’s Yoknapatawpha County, hunted the white whale aboard the Pequod, fought alongside Napoleon, sailed a raft with Huck and Jim, committed absurdities with Ignatius J. Reilly, rode a sad train with Anna Karenina and strolled down Swann’s Way. It’s a rewarding world, but my second one is by far superior. My second one is populated with characters slightly less eccentric, but supremely real, made of flesh and bone, full of love, who are my ultimate inspiration for everything.”

Full Frontal With Samantha Bee explains how white people ruined Black History Month

February is the shortest month of the year (Leap Day included), and yet it’s the only one that America dedicates to the celebration of African-American history. Even worse, as Samantha Bee pointed out on Monday’s episode of Full Frontal, are the politicians and pundits who invoke Black History Month to delegitimize modern black protestors. Bee invited one of her writers, Ashley Black, on stage with her to discuss how white people ruined Black History Month.

Can you believe it???? This episode is about The Ring!!! Obviously! All the signs are there.  The woman, the island, the telephone, the well.

You know what happens when you watch the cursed videotape from that movie? You die seven days later.

We’re getting another episode 7 days after The Final Problem.

You know what death is always code for in Sherlock’s subtext?  Love.

Guess what’s coming 7 days after The Final Problem?

Love.  Everything they’ve been building toward for 6 years. Everything they marketed these last few months.  Groundbreaking television.

The Final Problem might be the most masterful piece of writing I’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering and if this all turns out to be true, then, for me, it will be worth the wound.
