For any of you who dont know, Turtles Forever was made in 2009 and is an awesome hour long crossover that unites the 2003, 1987 and OG 1984 comic turtles. These 12 turtles work together with the help of April(s), Casey(s) & Splinter(s) to defeat enemies like Bebop, Rocksteady, Hun, Krang Prime, Karai, Ch'rell, 87’ Shredder and 84’ Shredder.
TYPES OF TMNT FANS THAT NEED TO WATCH THIS
1) New 2012 TMNT fans who feel ashamed for not growing up with the old cartoons/comics or 2012 fans who don’t understand all the other past incarnations of turtles.
Turtles Forever does an excellent job of showing the different vibes each incarnation has. From the goofy, light hearted 87’ turtles to the darker more serious 03’ turtles and even to the hardcore no bullshit 84’ prime turtles. Come on and learn about yo elders :D
2) Any TMNT fan on tumblr
I like to call “Turtles Forever” Fandoms Collide because it brings all of the separate parts of the tmnt fandom together. There is no more arguing which version is better, after this you will respect all the incarnations. In this movie Ch'rell wants to destroy the entire turtle multiverse so there are shout outs to other turtles like the 07’, 90’ and many more.
3) Karai Fans
Guys. She’s in it and lets just say she may or may not save the day. ;)
slay queen slay
4) Anyone looking for some quality childhood nostalgia
Im definitely not the target age for this and i even caught my self laughing out loud at parts
87’ Shredder was such a joke in this and i absolutely loved it
i am a fan of the ORIGINAL comics, the 1987 cartoon series, 1990 movies, 2k3 series, 2k7 movie, the new idw comics, the crossover tmnt movie (Turtles Forever) with the different verses, the 2k12 series, AND i watched the little TMNT series on Fox growing up when they teamed up with the power rangers AND i even powered through the Archie comics…
and i LIKED the 2k14 movie… so, really? really?! Who are you to call anyone who liked this movie “childish” or “not a true fan” listen here, bub… your snot ass doesn’t get to mock others for what they like or don’t like, especially fans that have been around as long as I have… so get off your high horse— i saw aspects of ALL the past versions in this movie, and the largest complaints are just so… dumb…
01: I haven’t seen it yet, because its Michael Bay (well he didn’t direct it, so it ISNT fucked up. You def see aspects of Bay in the film, but he wasn’t the one in the drivers seat, get that through your head—and any argument i see with someone who hasn’t seen the movie yet will be laughed at)
02. I don’t like slight flirtations of Mikey (well, considering that Mikey actually got a princessnamed seri pregnant in the original comics, and was a massive flirt as well in the 80’s series and 90’s movies, it really isn’t unfathomable that he’d find april attractive and FLIRT….)
03. I don’t like their noses. Yeah? well in the 80’s it was the belt buckles. in the 90’s movies it was the spots. in the 2k3 cartoons it was the white eyes… in 2k12 series it was the three toes….. there is always something… so really… the noses aren’t going to change…
IMO the characterizations were spot on, the story was good, and yes some scenes were heavy on April… but the turtles weren’t swept under the rug. April’s back story resembles the IDW comics which i love. She isn’t some mary sue that runs scared and hides… she’s an ambitious fighter who can go out and get things done without the help of the turtles which i LIKE. we needed those heavy april scenes to get HOW the turtles were made and HOW she affected them before meeting them… its insane that you are all calling this a ‘megan fox only film’ when really, it wasn’t— i’m happy they made april more upfront and not hidden in the background like the 2k3 series.honestly every attack on those that like it has been elementary reasoning my fave being 'its not like the 2k12 series, so i don’t like it’… just…
i’ve been a fan for almost my entire life. and i liked the new movie… so there.
