lili & cole on betty & jughead

“But what I found when I was really diving in — because once we started putting Jughead and Betty together, I started diving into try and find out if that’s a narrative that even exists in the digests, and it turns out, it is. It’s a narrative that’s existed for a long time. There are a handful of digests in which Jughead would say things like ‘Oh, Betty, if I did like women I guarantee you would be the one I would marry outright. You are the best person around.’ He would say these things that are really romantic and cute with an appreciation for Betty and I think it’s become clear to me now that Roberto has taken off with that.” –cole

“This is a new universe, this is a new take on Jughead, and he is this tortured damaged kid — this Holden Caulfield — who is looking for someone who can relate to him on a personal level and that narrative itself is also beautiful. While I think that [asexual] representation is needed, this Jughead is not that Jughead. This Jughead is not Zdarsky’s Jughead and this Jughead is not the aromantic Jughead. This Jughead is a person who is looking for a kind of deeper companionship with a person like Betty..and Betty ends up being this super nurturing, caring, catering person that with Jughead’s super screwed-up past they end up diving into each other and it ends up being a beautiful thing. How are people going to respond? Truthfully, they’re probably going to be quite incendiary about it at first. Do I think that’s ill-placed? No. Do I think they should give it a shot? Yeah, I do, because I think that after filming thirteen episodes, it makes sense to me and if it makes sense to me as the person who’s dumping so much time and so much argumentation into trying to represent Jughead correctly, it will make sense to other people as well.” –cole

It’s important to remember that — though Betty and Archie when they were younger were this cute couple — Jughead, Betty and Archie were the three childhood friends. So Betty knows Jughead probably just as well as Archie does in certain ways and she is also this sort of nostalgic force of what was once morally just. I do believe Jughead is absolutely obsessed with what was once Riverdale, and Betty still represents this morality and purity that he associates to this more ‘Peter Pan’-like childhood version of Riverdale. He finds great comfort in that and becomes easily accessible and resonates with him.” –cole

So there are a couple episodes — I won’t spoil too much — where you definitely get to see Jughead without a hat on, but we’ve saved it only for real vulnerable and personal moments. Yeah, you only see Jughead without his hat on in super vulnerable moments, because we kind of sold it as like his security blanket of sorts, and so – when he’s willing to take it off – it becomes this kind of special, vulnerable, personal thing. I think the first time he loses his hat is a moment with Betty.” –cole

“I’m really excited for people to see it. I hope their reaction is good. I mean, a lot of people– everyone has their own couple that they want to work on the show, but I think Betty and Jughead’s relationship as it progresses is really quite beautiful and they’re very supportive for one another, so I hope people appreciate that. And I think they will. Kind of all things aside, Jughead and Betty make each other happy.” –lili

Jughead was this character that was very much searching for a comfort and companionship in other people, and he ended up finding that within this super nurturing, care-taking, loving figure that Betty Cooper has become. And I think it makes a lot of sense narratively, the way the show has taken place, that the two of them end up sort of teaming up and becoming this force of investigation and companionship. And, you know, it’s very much a– It’s something deeper and more romantic than what I think people are going to expect, which is nice.” –cole

I think Betty makes Jug happy… Brings out, you know, the happiness in him.” –lili

“I think, in this show, he’s not a romantic and not asexual. I argued in the beginning, creatively, that he should be both, but in this show, he’s kind of a tortured youth that ends up finding a comfort and a resonance with another person who’s going through a lot of trauma. They end up forming this kind of beautiful, honest union, and I think that, to me, is a narrative that works with this universe of Jughead.” –cole

Betty and Jughead end up being a wonderful match.” –lili

“I think Betty sees someone who genuinely cares for her and that’s not to say that Archie doesn’t, but I think Archie is preoccupied with other things and other women in his life. Jughead on the other hand is just dealing with his own family issues, which he doesn’t share with Betty until later on in the season. But he just really cares about Betty because she’s so lovable and I think he can’t help it. But Betty sees this genuine, outsider in him and she can relate because I think Betty feels like an outsider at times too. I think that is what draws her to him a little bit because they both don’t necessarily fit in.” –lili

“I think they begin to learn a lot more about each other’s family histories and family life, especially when Betty finds out about Jughead’s homelessness and it’s kind of beautiful to see Betty accept Jughead’s past and conquer it with him.” –lili

“Betty is best friends with Archie, which means she grew up with Jughead. They know each other, and they’re friends. Jughead is more outwardly dark and brooding, and Betty wishes she could be more like that. On the outside, they couldn’t be more different, but a lot of what Betty feels on the inside is what Jughead presents to the world — and that’s something that she hasn’t been able to do, out of pressure from her parents. She can’t present weakness to the world, and that’s what attracts her to Jughead. She’s attracted to his darkness because she relates to it. She feels like an outsider at the end of the day, which is why they make such a great pair. They’re both outsiders.” –lili

I think that she can appreciate his moodiness and his darkness because she has that within her self as well and I think that Jughead is a very caring and passionate guy and Betty helps bring out that side of him.” – lili

“They team up in that way — it starts with them working together, then their bond just gets closer. Jug helps Betty search for Polly, and she helps Jughead with [upcoming] family problems. It’s a beautiful friendship and maybe turns into something more.” –lili

Jughead finds a kind of comfort in Betty, and Betty finds a comfort in Jughead that allows them to step outside of the shit in their private lives for a moment. They really end up exploring it across the episode, and well, it works. It does. Jughead really cherishes few people and when he does, he goes full throttle with it, and Betty is the same. They’re both looking for comfort… and they find it.” –cole

“I had sort of read it as, well, if Jughead can be a force of clarity in Betty’s life in that moment where she’s sort of hyperventilating and panicking – if his romance with Betty can be the thing that allows her to see clearly, that’s something I think he [would take] pride in.” –cole

There is more than just a friendship there. It’s more than just platonic. But I think sex and being sexual is the last thing on both of their minds because they both obviously have a lot of family issues they’re dealing with. And even being sexual teenagers—again, they are more mature, while Archie is still stuck in that headspace. It just shows the different levels and the different maturities of the characters. At this point, Betty and Jughead are taking their time. That’s so much more satisfying to me as an audience member because it makes when they kiss so much more special.” –lili

When you put two passionate people together like that—especially when they’re trying to find Polly—a very intimate relationship comes out of it, and that’s what you see happens. In last week’s episode, Jughead was all about helping Betty. In tonight’s episode, Betty is all about helping Jughead. It’s a give and take, not one-sided, which may have happened in a less mature relationship.” –lili

“They are pulled together because Betty keeps her darkness on the inside, and I think Jughead wears it on the outside. They are slowly drifting together because she’s attracted to his darkness and his ability to come to terms and live with his dark side, whereas she pushes it away. He doesn’t necessarily try to push his bright side away; it just doesn’t come out very often. I think Betty brings out that side in him.” –lili

“As a couple they– They’re like the investigative journalistic duo here, working at the Blue and Gold. And I think their relationship started off being the journalists, being the two detectives in the school, and then it kind of branched into something romantic for both of them.” –lili

They compare themselves to Romeo and Juliet a couple times because he’s from the wrong side of the tracks and she’s the perfect girl next door. So I think there’s a star-crossed lover kind of aspect.” –lili

“I think they’re both romantics, and being put in a situation where they’re solving a murder kind of brings you close to someone, and I think they have a deep appreciation for each other. I think it’s really, it’s real and it’s there.” –lili

“I think in the following episodes, specifically episode 10, Bughead stops truly being like some sort of perfect, joyous thing; And the two of them start to investigate: Okay, can these personalities actually be compatible? Jughead is kind of the loner of Riverdale, and is intimidated by intimacy– and that gets explored. Betty’s this kind of person who’s outwardly striving for perfection, or people expect perfection of– and that also gets explored. And, so, it gets complicated, but understandable and real.” –cole

“I think, from our show’s perspective– They’re both so opposite on the outside in their appearances, but they’re very similar on the inside. They’re both kind of these tortured souls in a way, don’t you think? So, I mean, they’re both kind of on the outside in a sense, and that’s what I think kind of brings them together a little bit.” –lili

I think that similar passion was also the sort of thing that brought them close at the end of the day. I think there’s truth in that.” –cole

They balance each other very well. Betty has such a soft exterior, and he has such a harsh one. They’re kind of opposites in that sense. But I think internally, they’re both very emotionally complex characters and they’re both really passionate. Jughead is such a passionate writer and betty is such a passionate journalist, and they’re kind of like this little crime-fighting duo taking on this mystery together and I think that helps bring them closer.” –lili

“I think she’s in love with him. She says, ‘I love jughead,’ not ‘I’m in love with jughead,’ and I think there’s definitely a difference between those two things. But I do think that at that point in time, she’s falling in love. I really love them together, I really do. Some people either love them together or hate them together, but they make each other happy, you can’t deny that.” –lili

“they have a connection, unlike all the other characters, where their darkness kind of intertwines, and that’s beautiful. When they can still love each other through the darkness, that’s amazing. How he kisses her hand was actually my idea. I was like, ‘that just shows the love. When you show someone such a vulnerable side of yourself, when they physically can kiss it to show you they love every part of you, that is love.’” –lili

I think betty is very happy with jughead. I think she loves him. She loves archie as well, but I think it’s a different kind of love at this point. I think betty is smooth sailing with jughead, and isn’t confused about her feelings.” –lili

“Bughead has been through a lot of trauma Season 1 and will experience more in Season 2. It’s not smooth sailing — we get darker and weirder in Season 2.” –cole

“They’re balancing their personalities off each other, which is so apparently contrasting, and I think they’re obviously going to have realistic bumps in the road.” –cole

“With any young relationship, they’re still figuring out who they are. That kind of affects your relationship with other people. Things change. People breakup and get back together. It’s kind of an open-ended situation because anything can happen between two teenagers who are falling in love.” –lili

I want them to have a happily ever after if it’s honest and real. If they can comfort each other in a storm of shit that seems to be hitting them at light-speed, that’s what I want.“ –cole

It makes sense to have these two people who are kind of lonely and on the outside and don’t really fit in to a particular group to be together. I do hope they pull through, as long as they keep making each other happy.“ –lili

“I think the key is that it feels honest and real. Both of those kids are going through an absolute whirlwind in terms of things that they’ve seen and done over the last season, so, i think… I can hope that they just sorta work through whatever is going to be thrown at them in a way that feels genuine and communicative. And give that kind of relationship to kids who are watching would be awesome.” –cole

“I think she’s scared for her boy. I think it makes them even more of a Romeo and Juliet kind of situation because she’s thinking that he’s gonna being joining the southside and she’s on the northside. Season 2 focuses a lot on this civil war between riverdale (the northside and the southside); and she’s not caught in the middle, but the guy that she loves is on the opposite side. So, I think she’s quite terrified for that because she cares about him a lot.” –lili

lili on b*rchie & the love triangle

“It’s more about the relationships between the characters. A lot of people go into this show thinking that this guy has to choose between these two girls, and that’s the plot of the show. But that’s very much not our show. These characters are working through real issues. The main plot point of Season 1 is Jason’s murder. It’s definitely not the love triangle. I don’t think there’s even that much of a love triangle. Betty has already accepted the fact that Archie doesn’t love her that way, and she knows you can’t force someone to think differently about you. She needs to move on.

Archie is such a mess! They’re just two people who are so much better off as friends, but she doesn’t realize it just yet. That’s OK. She’s young. She’ll realize it eventually.

“He’s a confused teenage boy. He doesn’t know what he wants, romantically or for his future. He’s just lost. She has sympathy for him, but she’s trying to protect him. At the end of the day, she doesn’t want him to get hurt or wrapped up in something dangerous. I think her opinion of him, as a person, doesn’t change, but her opinion of him, as a romantic figure in her life, changes. She grew up with him as a best friend, and when you grow up with a guy as a best friend when you’re a girl, it’s hard not to see yourselves becoming romantically involved. You’re like, “We’ve been best friends. Why don’t we just be together?” That’s what she thought. Maybe she wasn’t really in love with him. Maybe she just thought she was because it felt like the right thing to do. It wasn’t easy, but it was easier than you would think for her to get over the fact that they shouldn’t be together, romantically. She just had an idea in her head of the perfect couple that was Betty and Archie, but in reality, it wasn’t there and it wouldn’t have been as good.

“In the comic books, Archie just kind of picks between each girl every other day. No girl wants to watch a girl on television be pulled apart by a guy every which way. You want a girl who doesn’t let someone do that to her.

“No, I wouldn’t say that necessarily. I think there will always be the undertone of that famous love triangle, but for right now at this point in the season, Betty and Archie are kind of going off into their own little romantic endeavors instead of with each other.

It was important to us that Archie did not come between these girls. He does for a second, but the main goal of our show – and Roberto [Aguirre-Sacasa] talked about it beforehand – is that Archie is not going to stand between a friendship between these two girls who are destined to be best friends. They are classic frenemies, but on our show, they’re just friends. They just love and care about each other. Betty has a different love interest in the show. She comes to terms pretty fast with the fact that Archie doesn’t see her in a romantic way. She gets it and can’t be mad at him for not feeling a certain way about her. And she can’t get mad at Veronica for wanting to be with Archie ‘cause she gets how great of a guy he is. Veronica wasn’t intentionally trying to hurt Betty.”

At first I thought, yeah of course they’re gonna end up together; at the end of the day, end of the series, that’s what’s right and what’s meant to happen. Now, I’m not so sure. I think Archie and Betty are so much better off as friends, and it’s kind of like when you’re so close to a person of the opposite sex, if things were to get romantic, it would feel so wrong.

K.J. is such a Betty and Archie [fan]! He wants them together!

“No, I feel like when he was introduced to the Archie story he was told Betty and Archie are endgame, so I think that’s what he sticks to and thinks must be the right thing. But you do see maybe some flares of jealousy; it comes with the territory when your best friend is with someone else. It’s like, “Who is this person?” It’s this territorial thing for your best friend.

“I think betty is very happy with jughead. I think she loves him. She loves archie as well, but I think it’s a different kind of love at this point. I think betty is smooth sailing with jughead, and isn’t confused about her feelings.

"That’s the whole point, our show is not a direct carbon copy of the comics.

I don’t think she feels possessive over archie anymore.

I personally don’t really look back to the comics as much because betty is very very different. She’s kind of like this gullible, naive girl who lets a man walk all over her a little bit; and the fact that our betty is not that way is something I’m proud of.

“I think it’s safe to say that betty is very happy with jughead and there is no bad blood… I think she is happy for her friends, if they are happy.”

Stranded (Part 1)

where Y/N is sorry and Harry is angry.

Harry turned around as soon as he heard the bathroom door open. He could feel his eyes widening at the sight of you. With your blue floor length dress and hair up in a loose bun, you looked unquestionably breathtaking. You were heading for the celebration dinner of Harry’s movie, but Harry felt like he would be nothing there compared to the goddess standing in front of him. He couldn’t help it, he walked towards you with long strides, smashing his lips with yours and whispering,

“Baby, you look absolutely gorgeous.”

Your cheeks glowed with color as heat rushed up your neck. You smiled in gratitude before remarking,

“I think I should be the one saying that.”

Harry jokingly flipped his hair before replying,

“Yeah, I know, I’m very pretty.”

You two let out a laugh before your lips collided once more.

“How ‘bout we ditch the dinner an’ put on some of our own entertainment t’night?” he smirked, proud of his word play.

“Wish we could darling, but everyone’s gonna be there for you, yeah? Can’t leave them hanging.” You replied.

He hummed in response, well aware that he couldn’t ditch the party being thrown for him. You two headed out for the car parked outside. Your hands were tightly intertwined with Harry’s, and the two of you couldn’t have been more content at the moment.

Once you arrived at the destined place, the screams of the crowd and paparazzi increased in volume. The two of you were scurried out of the car by Harry’s event organizer. Harry wrapped an arm around your waist as the two of you headed towards the fancy restaurant.

Strutting towards the door, you two looked, and felt, like the ideal couple. However, your little bubble of happiness was soon burst apart as Harry started getting questioned by an interviewer. He seemed nice, and the pair of you didn’t mind.

Yet, soon the questions started getting directed towards you as well. Caught up in the blissful heaven of the situation, you barely noticed as you accidentally spilled out information about Harry working on his solo album.

Harry had previously decided to keep his solo music career a secret for the time being. Lots of conspiracies came along with the rumors, none of which Harry wanted to face. He had instructed you not to inform anyone about it either, and he knew that he could definitely trust you. You had gone to extremes to keep it a secret, there had been several times when it was so close to being revealed but you did one thing or other to safeguard your beloved boyfriend’s clandestine.

But this once, caught up in the happiness of the situation, and the feeling of being in Harry’s arms, you hadn’t even noticed the words tumbling out of your mouth. As soon as the words escaped you, the two of you immediately halted to a stop. Harry’s arm tightened around your waist warningly, to the point where it almost hurt. The interviewer was as shocked as could be, and continued on trying to dig out more details from either of you.

You tried to make it better, you really did, but the damage had been done.

Harry hurriedly excused you two from the press and continued walking towards the main hall. You knew he was mad, the tense way his shoulders were situated, was an obvious sign of that.

Once reality settled in, you felt like you could cry. You had revealed his secret, broken his trust. He had confided in you and trusted you to not tell a soul about something that he didn’t yet want to share.

However, before you could let out a word, Harry was whisked away by his manager, and you had been left alone to fend for yourself. Usually, Harry would be the one to hold your hand tightly and pull you along with him, but you knew that after this, the last thing he wanted was to be anywhere near you.

You were soon given company by Gigi, Eleanor and Cheryl. All of the boys were there to support Harry, and you felt horrible that you had messed up the night for him. You felt your heart ache when you saw that Harry had opted to take the seat farthest away from you at the dinner table. The night passed on with you barely touching your food and trying your best to be as social as you could in the given circumstances.

Harry was nowhere to be seen, probably he had gone somewhere with his friends, and Eleanor and Cheryl had went off to mingle with their own boyfriends, while Gigi had stayed with you. She claimed that she wanted your advice on some show that she was preparing for, but you knew that she felt bad for you. She knew what had happened, and didn’t want for you to be alone.

While you were grateful for the company that she provided, you hadn’t failed to notice Harry’s absence throughout the night. You knew that he was upset with you, but you didn’t think that he would actually ignore you the whole night through. As it was nearing midnight and Gigi was going on about her upcoming Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, a text message from Harry interrupted the both of you. Hope sprang through you as you looked down at your phone, but it was quick to die down as soon as you read the cold words that had been sent to you.

“We’re leaving.”

As you looked up, you saw Harry’s manager waving to you to come to the front door. You informed Gigi, who stood up with you.

“We’ll be leaving soon too. Just need to say goodbye to some people before we’re on our way.”

“Okay, thank you so much for today. I’ll see you soon.”

“Anytime, babe. I’m sure Harry will cool off soon. Just give him some time and space, yeah? Call me if you need anything.” She said, rubbing your arm comfortingly.

“Yeah, thank you, Gigi. I love you.”

The both of you hugged goodbye before you hurried off to where Harry’s manager was standing. She informed you that Harry was already in the car. Your heart sank a little, realizing that he was still mad. You hadn’t expected him to just forget about the whole thing, but you were hoping that his mood would be uplifted after spending some time with his friends.

Nonetheless, you knew that you had made a mistake and that you would have to pay the consequences now.

As you walked outside, you noticed the drizzle going on. It wasn’t much, but the dark clouds in the night sky made it obvious that it wasn’t long before it would start raining heavily. You opened the car door, and skid into the passenger seat. Harry already had the car started, and before you had time to buckle up your seat belt, he scurried off without a word. The tires of the car produced a sharp screech due to the force of the sudden turn.

You didn’t say anything, only adjusting yourself in your seat.

Harry continued driving towards the house that the both of you shared. But you couldn’t help but notice the death grip he had on the steering wheel. After a while, the awkward tension became too much and you felt like you were going to choke. You decided to face the consequences of your mistake as soon as possible, since procrastinating was clearly going to get you nowhere.

“Harry, I really am sorry about what happened-” You started, before he cut you off.

“Don’t Y/N, just don’t.”

He sounded so angry, unlike you had ever heard before. You had heard from a lot of people that Harry was the worst when angry. Though you had yet to encounter a seriously mad Harry, since he always made sure to control his temper around you.

It had started to rain harder outside, with heavy raindrops falling down on the wind screen. His knuckles had begun to turn whiter due to his extremely tight grip on the steering wheel. His face was set in a mad frown that was deadly to even look at.

“Harry, I promise that this wasn’t my intension. I was only answering their question and it just slipped out. I’m really sorry.”

“Sorry won’t cut it. I trusted you with my secret and you totally ruined it. I’m never telling you anything again. Now shut your mouth before I decide to kick you out of the car right now.”

This was so unlike him, the Harry that you knew would never, ever speak to you like how he just did.

Harry was known to be one of the most respectful people out there, and he had proved himself to you as a gentleman several times. Always treating you with intense care, feeding you chocolates during your period, opening the doors for you anywhere you went; he did everything to make sure that you were happy with him.

“Harry, please try to under-” Your sentence was left unfinished as the car halted to a stop.

“Get out.” He commanded.

“What?” Your voice was timid, compared to his. You had absolutely no idea about what Harry could do in his rage of anger, and you weren’t sure if you were ready to find out.

“Get out of the fucking car, Y/N. Or so help me I’ll do it myself.”

“Harry, it’s almost midnight and it’s raining so hard outside. Please don’t do this. I said I’m sorry.” You practically begged.

He wasn’t having any of it, though. In the blink of an eye, he unbuckled his seat belt and got out of the car. He threw open your side of the door and grabbed your wrists. You tried to resist his grip, and he almost threw you to the ground. Your ankle twisted due to the heels you were wearing, and a painful yelp came out of your mouth. You were lying there in pain, with a ruined dress, spoiled make-up and sore wrists.

You tried to refrain him one last time.

“Harry, please stop.”

He shrugged off your hold on his wrist and went over to the driver’s side. He proceeded to sit in and drive away, leaving you a crying and broken mess in the middle of the road with darkness surrounding you and rain water pouring down on you heavily.

To some outsider, it may have looked like a scene freshly out of some movie. To you though, it was like your world had been torn apart. Yes, you had made a mistake, a horrible one at that. Harry had trusted you with one of his most sacred secrets and as his significant other, it was your duty to protect it at all costs. However, you had gotten caught up in the blissful moment and gone ahead and done the exact opposite.

In spite of that, you didn’t think that you deserved to be thrown out so harshly; in the middle of the night with strangers lurking around and rain falling hard on you.

Yes, you had broken his trust and knew that it wasn’t going to be easy to gain it back, but he had done the exact same thing, maybe worse. Your boyfriend, the very guy who was supposed to keep you safe and protect you from all the harm in the world, was himself the guy who had thrown you out in the streets, with absolutely no concern of what could happen to you.

And as you sat broken in the right middle of the street, with black tears staining your face and wet hair matted to your forehead, dress ripped and ankle twisted, you couldn’t help but wonder if things would ever be alright between you two again.

“This break was good,” She whispered to him, reaching across the brown oak table separating her from the man she had not seen in four months, “But it opened my eyes - a lot. I think we’ve ran our course, Stiles, I think it’s time we just say enough is enough. We can’t keep living our lives by eating at each other’s throats everyday, fighting over the littlest of things, it’s just not healthy.” Lydia hated the words that were falling from her tongue, and she felt the tears swell up in her eyes when Stiles sucked back a sharp breath, and let his hand slip from her grasp.

Fairy Tales

Prompt:  Analogical, Logan reading to Virgil (from @thuriweaver )
Pairing: Analogical

It’d been a rough day.

There was nothing wrong, exactly–at least, nothing in particular. Nothing Virgil could point to and say, “That. That is the problem.” But he was still feeling off, on edge and alert and completely unable to just relax

So he went to Logan’s room. Logan was there, reading, but he set his book aside when Virgil tapped on the door and poked his head in. He smiled, folding his hands on the polished surface of his desk. “Virgil,” he said. “What can I do for you?”

Virgil half-shrugged and rubbed the back of his neck. “I dunno. Nothing. I mean. Can I just…can I hang out? In here, with…with you?”’

Logan’s eyebrows climbed toward his hair, but he thankfully didn’t ask questions. Instead, he nodded once, and Virgil stepped gratefully into his space.

Your family is a lot to handle. As the matriarch, you know this. However, you don’t really understand how much they are until Duke comes into your lives. Cass had come from a horrible situation, but a familiar one. Bruce knew how to deal with her training. Duke’s situation is completely different.

    The boy had come from a loving home, with two wonderful parents. You’d read up on them, and with Duke’s help, you’d written their obituaries. In the days leading up to the funeral, you can’t help but worry. He barely eats anything, and he leaves the room when more than three people are in it.

    The only one who doesn’t seem surprised is Alfred. When you question him about it he says, “The poor boy is grieving, Mrs. Wayne. His entire world has been turned upside down, he’s in a brand new environment, and to be quite honest, your children can be a lot to deal with.”

    You purse your lips, “So Bruce went through the same thing?”

    The old man smiles, “Master Bruce was quite different. With him I had to deal with him risking his life, and other odd entities.”

    You roll your eyes, “Of course. What changed that?”

    The butler smiles, “You, Mrs. Wayne. You pulled him out.” Without another word, you watch the butler go.

    You lay in bed awake the night before the funeral, and without thought you send you arm flying so that your hand lands right on Bruce’s face. You feel him smile, before he kisses it. Turning towards you he asks, “Can’t sleep?”

    “I’m worried about him, Bruce.”

    “Me too.” There’s several minutes of silence before you toss the covers aside.

Bruce groans, “Don’t go, the bed will get cold.”

You smile, “Well I should hope so, I’m going to get ice cream.”

He smiles back and says, “Alfred will kill us for eating upstairs.”

“Then we shouldn’t leave any evidence.”

You make your way through the Manor, and you’re a bit surprised to find the kitchen light already on. You find Duke at the island with a plate of leftovers in front of him. You hesitate before walking in. He looks up and meets your gaze.

There’s a few minutes of silence before you say, “I came down to sneak ice cream. Do you want some?”

It doesn’t surprise you when he doesn’t respond. Instead of pushing, you head to the fridge, and then you hear, “What kind is it?”

You smile, “Cookie dough. I keep it hidden behind the broccoli, but that’s just between you and me, but I’m willing to share.”

He nods, and you pull out two bowls. You scoop generous servings into each and slide a bowl in front of him before pulling your own bowl in front of you. You don’t push him to talk, you wait for him to make the first move, “I’m dreading tomorrow.”

You meet his eyes, before sticking a spoonful of ice cream in your mouth, “I get it. My parents’ funeral was horrible.”

“Your parents?”

You nod, “They died in a car accident when I was eight. My grandmother raised me until she died when I was sixteen. Since then, it’s been Bruce and me.”

You watch him play with his ice cream, “Why was it so bad?”

“There were a lot of people there that I didn’t know, all saying how sorry they were. I was tired of hearing sorry by that point. Sorry didn’t bring them back, and none of those people could understand how I felt. Everyone’s pain is different. And losing parents at a young age is just…”

He nods, “Yeah. You think it’ll be that way for me?”

“There’s a good chance. That being said, Bruce and I have both been there, we have a few tricks.”

“Bruce has been there, too?”

“It’s one of the things that brought us together. Bruce’s parents were killed when he was eight too. But he had a lot of focus on him, being the Wayne heir. Alfred kept him pretty sheltered.”

“What tricks do you have?”

You smile, “Sandwich yourself between me and Bruce, use the other kids as shields if you need to. They know how to deal with people who might not have the best intentions.”

“You think there will be people like that?”

You sigh, “If only because of Bruce and me, I’m sorry in advance. We draw a lot of press attention, and there’s not a whole lot we can do about it. Now you’ll have to deal with it too. I’m sorry.”

“You shouldn’t be.” You meet his eyes, and he gives you a small smile, “Bruce saved my life, he didn’t have to do anything else. He didn’t even have to do that. Instead he stayed with me, he was there every time I woke up, and then you guys took me in. You guys didn’t have to do that.”

You blink back tears, “Duke, I want you to know… we know we can’t replace your parents. We don’t want to, either. We do want to be your family, though. I know the kids are a lot to deal with. Damian and Helena are a pair of hellions, Lord knows, and Dick loves to flip around, and Jason and Tim bicker, and Cass has this ability to sneak up on you…”

Duke reaches over and places a hand on yours, “Thank you for giving me a home. Thank you for being here. I look forward to being a part of this family.”

With a smile, you stand up and walk over to him, and then you wrap him in the tightest hug you can. He hugs you back, and a moment later, he starts sobbing. You hold him until he falls asleep. When the sound of light snores hit your ears, you feel a hand settle on your shoulder. Turning, you smile at Bruce, and watch as he effortlessly lifts your newest son into his arms.

Together, you put him to bed. You stand there, watching him sleep, with Bruce next to you. You stare at his sleeping face and you know, he’s your son. He’s one of your kids.

Request (Anon): Tom and the reader have a fight so she won’t sleep in the same bed as him

words: 1838

Eight months

That’s how long you and Tom have been together. Exclusively at least. You’ve known each other for nearly six years, each of those years spent denying feelings for one other. So, whenever Tom finally silenced the words of encouragement from both his head and his friends and told you how he truly felt it was no surprise to anyone how easily the two of you fell together. Over the years, the two of you have had your share of fights. Best friends always do. Maybe that is why he hadn’t expected your first fight as a couple to have such a terrible fallout.

He wasn’t prepared to be on the other end of words that caused tears to fall from your eyes, or to be the one incapable of making them stop. Throughout the majority of your friendship, he’d been the one to comfort you in times like this. He was always the one to talk you out of moments of self-doubt. Only, today, he had nothing to say.

And that was the problem.

Instead of speaking, he’d shut completely down.

Your name: submit What is this?

Shownu joined the business out of necessity, he had been friends with Wonho for many years but never actually considered it a viable career till he was in major debt. In fear of losing his apartment he called up his friend and asked him what were the requirements; after a week of auditions he’d been accepted as one of the few call boys who weren’t hired out for “companionship” - but more for lap dances or as a high class escort. He found that he enjoyed it after a while, even though the first week had been exhausting, sometimes working over 50 hours a week, he realized that he had skills that men and women alike both sought out.

Shownu was highly charismatic, people enjoyed talking to him and women loved having him on their arm for the night. When it came down to the more raunchy side of the business his expectations were instantly risen - he didn’t have sex with clients who hadn’t reserved him less than five times - meaning they were extremely wealthy and wouldn’t skimp out on paying for his companionship services. To say he was a bit shallow when it came to who he slept with, was an understatement, he didn’t serve older men or older women as it just wasn’t his style. Most of his clients were between the ages of 20 to 40, and most of them were women with an itch only he could scratch.

Neglected | Jughead Jones

Hi people!

So here it is my first Riverdale imagine ever 💕

I promise I’m not ignoring your requests but I’m slowly going through all of them and will be posting them as soon as I can, so bear with me.

Anon request: can you please write a jughead imagine where the reader is new in riverdale and they meet and then they start dating but the reader gets insecure because he spends a lot of time with betty and betty acts all bitchy and jealous because her and jughead liked each other before she moved and they fight because of that????

Now, it was very hard for me to portray Betty as “bitchy” because she’s a precious cinnamon roll, but I tried my best. So I hope you like it. 💕

Warnings: jealous Betty (I apologize to all Bughead shippers), insecure reader.

“I think that’s the last box kiddo, thanks for helping out.” Y/N’s dad said taking the empty box to put it with the rest to dispose of them later. “Why don’t you go to explore for a bit while I finish arranging everything?”

“Is it okay if I go take a walk? I want to see what’s around here.”

“Sure, just be very careful and take your phone with you.” Y/N nodded and took her jacket before walking out the door.

Y/N had just moved with her dad to Riverdale after her parents disastrous divorce. It was an excruciating process full of never ending battles between them. Always fighting for the most stupid things just so they could bother the other and Y/N was tired of it.

So after being part of the collateral damage from the war between her parents, she decided she needed a change of air.

Once the divorce process was completed, months after their first fight with their lawyers, her dad told her he was moving away to his hometown to look for a bit of calm. She didn’t hesitate when she asked him to take her with him. She just wanted to get away from the house she was living in, to take a break of everything that happened.

Her mom put a bit of a fight in that, but she was old enough to decide with who she wanted to live with, so eventually she let her go.

She was aware that it may not be the most exciting thing to spend your high school years in a very small town. And school year had already started, so she would have a bit of trouble fitting in and catching up with every subject. But in all honesty, surviving high school would be more than enough at this point.

She continued to walk along the almost empty streets of Riverdale. The chilly air was doing wonders to calm her mind so she just trusted her feet to take her wherever they wanted.

After a few minutes walking, she noticed some cars parked from a distance. A big screen in front of them, projecting the iconic James Dean in “Rebel without a cause”.

Curiosity kicked in taking her steps towards that place, eventually noticing it was a drive-in. According to the sign in the entrance, it was the last night it would be open. It was a shame she just got there that day.

She now understood why the streets were almost devoid of people.

The place was packed with cars. People were gathering up in front of a small stand in order to buy some snacks and popcorn.

After some debating with herself, she decide to sit on the ground by the snacks stand. She had a decent view of the screen and she didn’t feel that lonely. She might be going against the rules of the drive-in, since she didn’t brought a car, but she wanted to stay and watch the movie to enjoy the last night of the drive-in like the rest of Riverdale.

-

30 good minutes passed before it started to get colder. She buried face in the front of her jacket rubbing her arms at the same time, trying to create some friction to keep her warm. As much as she tried though, after a bit, it became too cold to bear.

She looked around, seeking for a place to stay to watch the rest of the movie where she would be shielded from the cold. She actually thought of going to someone and ask them if she could stay in their car with them, but that would be way too weird and creepy.

All of sudden, her eyes caught a sight of the small booth where the movie was being projected, her feet already approaching it.

Without a second thought, she entered the booth before anyone caught her. The warmth immediately enveloped her, her lips breaking into a content smile. She closed the door behind her rubbing her hands together to get rid of the cold burning her skin.

“What are you doing here?” an accusing voice made her jump. She turned around placing her eyes on the raven haired boy sitting in front of her, scrutinizing her with his eyes.

“I-I’m really sorry.” she apologized with her cheeks burning in embarrassment. “I thought no one was here.” he raised his brows waiting for an explanation that she hadn’t given him yet. “I didn’t mean to intrude or anything, but I was freezing out there.” he frowned, increasing the embarrassment she was feeling.

“What about your car?” he asked still suspicious. “It’s a drive-in, you know?”

“I know but I came here by myself… walking, I mean.” his gaze was making her uncomfortable as he studied her face with curiousness, almost reading her like an open book. She fidgeted in her place awkwardly trying to hide herself from his prying stare.“I’m really sorry, I’ll just go.”

“No” he said stopping her as she was already turning around with her hand reaching for the door. “It’s fine.”

He sighed and pointed to the spot next to him with his head. She thought about it for a moment before she hesitantly took slow steps towards him. He sensed her doubt and offered her a half smile, patting the seat next to him inviting her to sit.

“So are you enjoying the movie?” he asked while adjusting the beanie covering his head.

“Well…I’m more of a Tarantino type of girl but I can appreciate a good 50’s James Dean movie.” she replied shrugging carelessly.

“So you’re into unconventional structure and racial epithets. All up for controversy, I see.” he commented wit a teasing smile earning an amused chuckle from her. “I’m Jughead.”

What a curious name she thought.

“Y/N”

“You’re new here.” he wasn’t asking, he was telling her he knew she was new in town. It wasn’t a surprise though. In such a small town, new people stood out like a sore thumb.

“I am, just got here today.” she confirmed hugging her knees.

“Why now? School year already started.” he said confused. It was weird for someone to move to Riverdale, let alone when everyone had already resumed their activities after the summer.

“Yeah, but my parents’ divorce trial just ended so…you know.” she trailed off not wanting to get into a deep conversation about her broken family.

“That sucks.” he simply replied focusing his eyes on the movie once again.

“I’d like it better this way, though.”she admitted. “They’re not at each other’s throat all the time anymore so it’s cool.”

She took the chance to look around the place, noticing that apart from the films that were piled in a corner, there were also clothes and bags next to what looked like an improvised bed. There were also a couple of pictures on the walls and some canned food resting on the ground. All in all, it looked way too personal for just a working place. It was more of a dorm where a college student spent their days when he wasn’t in class. “You work here?” she asked, curiosity taking the best of her.

“I won’t anymore after tonight.” he replied, his expression turning sour. “People don’t care about this place, even if it represents a historical and monumental part of this town, they don’t seem to mind its closing.”

“I’m sorry, it’s really a shame I got here the last day of its existence. It seems like this place means a lot to you.”

“Yeah, this place is almost like home.” he said with sarcasm dripping from every word.

It was then when she understood that he definitely lived in that little booth. She ignored the reasons why he had to do such thing, but she knew that they were going to take his home away from him.

She didn’t want to say anything further so she wouldn’t get to any touching subject.

They both kept quiet for the rest of the movie, sometimes interrupting to make a comment on a specific scene.

There was not an awkward tension between them and weird enough, Jughead didn’t feel the need to shut Y/N out as he would with any other stranger. Sure he was now friends with Kevin and Veronica, but that was mostly because of Betty, cause if it wasn’t for her, he would probably have never even spoken to them.

Soon enough, the credits were rolling on the screen. People put away their blankets and threw away their left over popcorn before starting their cars to leave.

Y/N stood up from her seat, once she saw the cars lining up in the exit, the place slowly emptying. She zipped up her jacket and placed her hands on her pockets before offering Jughead a smile.

“Thank you for letting me stay.” she said making him smirk.

“My pleasure.” he replied standing up too.

“I’ll see you around, yeah?” Y/N asked before stepping outside.

“I bet you will.” Jughead said with his smirk not wavering. She silently chuckled while closing the door behind her, walking home with a smile on her face.

~~~*~~~
Y/N exited her classroom once the bell rang indicating lunch time. She joined the group of students eager to reach the cafeteria so they wouldn’t have to wait in line to get their lunch. Most of them just anxious to gossip with their group of friends.
Y/N was distractedly looking at her feet, careful to not trip with someone else’s feet when a hand reached for hers, interlacing their fingers together. She raised her head, her gaze meeting a pair of green eyes paired up with a mischievous smile. She leaned into Jughead’s shoulder, as he placed a kiss on the back of her hand.
After that night in the drive-in, it didn’t take long for them to meet again. They shared one of their classes and as soon as she entered the classroom, Y/N recognized that grey beanie. She immediately made a beeline to the seat next to Jughead, him greeting her with a small smile.
She was more than grateful that she finally had someone to ease her embarrassment caused by the constant blatant stares of her classmates.
Throughout the days, they spent plenty of time together, becoming closer and closer. It wasn’t a surprise when they started dating, pretty much everyone saw that coming.
“So apparently the most talked about thing here, it’s still Cheryl Blossom’s continuous breakdowns.” he greeted her with a random comment, just like he did everyday.
“Well, she keeps publicly addressing her brother so it’s not much of a surprise.” she admitted. “I don’t blame her though.”
“I have no comments on the matter.” Jughead said, clearly saving some strong opinions about the situation. Y/N just shook her head while laughing.
“Hey, are you up for a movie tonight?” she asked changing to a lighter subject.
“Sorry, I can’t. I already have plans.” He lowered her head, almost shying away from her eyes. He  looked almost ashamed as he tightened the grip on her hand.
“Oh, it’s okay. We can hang out other day.” she tried hard to keep the disappointment out of her voice, and as curious as she was, she decided not to ask him about his plans.
“Hey guys!” Archie greeted them once they met them at one of the tables. Y/N said hi to everyone and took her usual seat next to Veronica.
Veronica had moved to Riverdale a couple of weeks before Y/N, so she knew what it was like to be the new girl in town. Veronica took her under her wing right away, becoming great friends in no time.
“Hey, are you up for some pampering after school?” she questioned. “I’m in desperate need of a mani-pedi and a face mask.”
“Sure!” Y/N replied, playing with an apple. “I was planning on hanging out with Jughead but he’s busy, so I’m down.” Veronica clapped her hands excited as Y/N turned around to face the blonde girl in front of them.
“Do you wan to come with us Betty?” She asked, offering her a kind smile.
Although Jughead was the first person she met in Riverdale, it was actually Veronica who introduced her to the rest of her friends. They were very nice, easily getting along with her and including her in their little group dynamics. They were all very welcoming, except for one person: Betty.
She wasn’t rude or insulting, but she wasn’t necessarily thrilled whenever Y/N was around. She avoided Y/N like the plague, being cold and cutting every time she spoke to her.
Despite Betty’s obvious dislike of her, Y/N kept trying to approach her and made sure she knew she was always included in her plans with Veronica, but she was never interested.
That was the main reason why Jughead was a bit hesitant to spend time with Betty when they first started dating. Y/N took notice of this and instantly reassured him that no matter what, she understood how important Betty was to him and actually, encouraged him to hang out with her.
But no matter what she did, it was never enough to get Betty to stop acting the way she did.
“I’m busy today.” She curtly replied. “Jughead and I are going to work on an article for The Blue and Gold.” Betty took a look at Y/N’s face while raising her brow.
Jughead cringed on his place, trying to shield himself from everybody’s looks that were now focused on him. Y/N could tell that everyone tensed at Betty’s statement, but she didn’t understand why. Of course she was confused on why would Jughead would hide that from her, when he usually told her whenever he was going to hang out with Betty, but it wasn’t anything worthy of that reaction. They were childhood friends after all. There was nothing wrong with them wanting to hang out for a day.
“Cool, I’m looking forward to read whatever you guys come up with.” Y/N said with a smile on her face, causing Archie, Veronica and Kevin to look at her with wide eyes.
The atmosphere on the table became awkward after that, and no one seemed to know how to break the silence. The only sound filling their ears, being the chatter from the tables around them.
There was something more complicated regarding Betty and Jughead, and concern was already planting itself on Y/N’s mind.
-
“So what do you think, peel off or clay mask?” Veronica asked Y/N showing her two containers of face masks. Y/N sighed and dropped her head.
“Ronnie can I ask you a question?” she said, randomly changing the subject, causing a frown to appear on her friend’s face.
“Sure, what’s up?” she replied as she placed both products on the table.
“Why was everyone so tense when Betty said she would be hanging out wth Jughead?” As if on cue, Veronica’s back straightened, her whole body rigid with tension. She rubbed her forehead with her fingers and sighed while a serious expression took over her face.
“You really don’t know anything about Jughead and Betty’s history, do you?”
“They are childhood friends and they are really close…what about it?” Y/N inquired, still confused on why was that such a big deal to everyone else.
“That’s not what I meant.” Veronica said shaking her head. She shifted in her place, bracing herself for what she was about to tell her. “So you already know how Archie broke Betty’s heart, right?” Y/n nodded. “After that happened, Jughead came into the picture. He started to get really close with Betty always being there for her. Apparently they had a thing for each other… until you came.”
“Wha-what?” Saying that she felt overwhelmed was an understatement. She nearly felt dizzy at the news.
“That’s why Betty doesn’t like you. You basically stole Jughead away from her, even though you weren’t aware of that.” she flinched as she recalled her first week in Riverdale. “I mean two heartbreaks in a row, is not something easy to deal with.”
“Oh God.” Y/N shut her eyes, desperately trying to get a grip of her emotions.
“That’s also why we all looked at you like you were crazy when you were so cool about it. It wasn’t normal for you to react that way when Betty pretty much rubbed on your face that she was going to be alone with Jughead.” she frowned. “It’s very weird because Betty is one of the nicest girls I know, so it’s interesting to watch her being so defensive.”
She felt the wind being knocked out of her and her chest felt heavy with uncertainty. She had been so oblivious to the relationship between Betty and Jughead had before she came. It all made so much sense now.
Now that everything was on the table, she couldn’t help but to feel a bit insecure. She trusted Jughead, but it was such a messed up situation there was no telling how it could end. Besides, she didn’t understand why Jughead had been keeping something that important from her.
“But don’t overthink Y/N, he’s wrapped around your finger. You have nothing to worry about.” she comforted her rubbing her knee, before going back to the face masks.
-
Little by little, insecurity spread through Y/N’s system taking over her rational thoughts and drowning her in an ocean of self destruction. The realization that if it wasn’t for her, Jughead and Betty would most likely be together, hit her like a truck.
Her confidence had received a major blow and she didn’t know how to handle it. How can you compete with the perfect green eyed beauty that is your boyfriend’s childhood friend? It’s even worse when you get the news that at some point, they were romantically interested in each other.
Y/N was doing exactly what Veronica told her not to do. She was over thinking everything that revolved around Betty and Jughead.
She couldn’t help but notice every time that Betty touched Jughead whenever she was speaking to him. How she always giggled at his minimum sarcastic comment. How in every difficult situation, she always relied on Jughead to make it better. And the worst part, the way Jughead seemed to have a soft spot for her as he let his guard down completely around her.
Y/N was on the brink of paranoia. She had already pictured every single worst case scenario, feeling guilty a couple of hours later for doubting of Jughead.
But it was practically impossible to get rid of her thoughts when Jughead had been blowing her off the last few weeks, because he had already made plans with Betty.
In numerous occasions she asked him to hang out, but every single time he gave her the same excuses.
“Betty has a lot on her mind lately.” “Betty needs my help for The Blue and Gold.” “Betty wants to do some research.”
No matter what, Betty only wanted Jughead’s help and no one else’s. And Jughead couldn’t refuse her the help that she needed, without any second thoughts.
And one can only take so much rejection before giving up. And she had had enough.
She started to withdraw from Jughead. Not avoiding him, but she wasn’t looking for his attention anymore.
Her pain wasn’t about Betty and Jughead’s past at all. It was the fact that he seemed to choose Betty over her all the time, not dividing his time between the two of them. He didn’t have time to be with her anymore and his carelessness was killing her.
Her friends noticed the change in her behavior. Especially because, even if it wasn’t her intention, she was also withdrawing from them with her mind always wandering elsewhere. She didn’t smile as often as she used to and when she did, it looked forced. She didn’t participate in the group’s conversations, keeping quiet at all times. And despite everyone asking her if something was wrong, she didn’t open up to anyone, always dismissing her mood.
But all her friends agreed that she looked pretty defeated.
That went on for some days, until one day Jughead caught her in the hallway between classes.
“Hey.” he greeted her, securing an arm around her shoulders. “I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever.” she felt her heart break a little when his lips placed a kiss on her temple.
“Yeah, it’s been a while.” she awkwardly said with a grimace, focusing her gaze on the floor.
“I was thinking that we could go to Pop’s tonight.” she showed her that cute little smile of his. “I know we haven’t been able to hang out and I really want to spend some time with you. I’ve missed you.” he brushed his nose against her cheek, wordlessly telling her, he had been craving her touch.
But as cute and adorable as he was acting at the moment, she couldn’t bring herself to push her heartache away.
“I-I can’t tonight Jug, sorry.” she avoided his gaze as she quickly escaped from his embrace, taking fast steps towards her next class.
Jughead stood in the middle of the hallway with his arm stretched to her, a hurt and confused expression plastered on his face. It was now clear, that whatever was going on with her, it was way deeper than he originally thought.
  •
Two days after the encounter with Jughead, she decided that enough was enough. She had to stop running away from her problems and face them once and for all. Otherwise, there would be no  way to solve the situation.
She tied up her sneakers and threw on her jacket before setting off to Archie’s house. She knew it was a bit late for a talk, but hopefully Jughead would be as understanding and kind as always. He never failed to be there for her.
She knocked on the door and waited for a few seconds before Jughead opened the door.
His expression morphed into a mix of confusion and nervousness in a flash. Maybe Archie’s dad was already home and didn’t like any late night visits.
“Hey.” he breathed. “What are you doing here?”
“I needed to see you.” she peeked behind him, to see if someone was around. “Is Archie home?”
“No, why?” he turned around to look inside for a bit, mainly to avoid looking her in the eye.
“I have to talk to you about something.” she pushed, trying hard to caught his gaze.
“Now’s not a good time Y/N.”Jughead fidgeted on his feet, his head shaking.
“I know it’s late but I-“ her sentence was cut short by a very familiar voice.
“Juggie who is it?” Betty asked, appearing from behind, placing her hand on Jughead’s shoulder to rest her chin on top of it. Y/N sighed frustrated, his previous behavior now making sense.
“Figures.” she scoffed before turning around, moving far away from the house as fast as she could without looking desperate.
“Y/N wait!” he yelled, the sound of a door closing hitting her ears. She quickened her pace once she heard his rushed footsteps approaching. Soon, he caught up to her and grabbed her arm, stopping her on her tracks. “Hey it’s-it’s not what it looks like. You know she’s only my friend.” he stumbled over his words, looking a bit frantic.
“I know you’re not cheating on me Jughead, I trust you enough to know that you wouldn’t do that.” she exclaimed offended.
“The why are you so upset?” he grabbed her faced with a concerned look. “I know something’s wrong but I thought you needed some space to figure things out before you wanted to talk about it.” Y/N sighed, bracing herself for the conversation that she had been avoiding for so long.
“Why didn’t you tell me that you and Betty had thing for each other before I came?” Jughead’s face  immediately turned pale, his mouth going completely dry. Y/N knew she hit the nail on the head with her question.
“I-I don’t know.” he whispered. “It’s not a big deal.”
“It is when that’s the reason why Betty dislikes me so much.” she brushed a hand trough her hair frustratedly. “You know I don’t mind that you want to spend time with your friends, but lately you’ve been spending a lot of your time with Betty. So much, that we actually stopped hanging out altogether, because you’re always with her.”
“Don’t be like that. You know that Betty is going through a lot.” he defended her, his voice rising with anger.
“Jughead I’ve been avoiding this conversation for a while because I didn’t want to come off as crazy or obsessive. And tonight I finally decided that I’ve had enough and that I needed to talk to you about it, but once again I’m being blown off because of Betty!”
“She needs me!” they were both yelling at this point and it was very likely that the neighbors were listening to their argument.
“I need you too!” she screeched as her eyes became glassy. She took a deep breath before continuing, now with a lower voice. “But I don’t want to be competing with Betty for your time, and most definitely I’m not going to put you in a position where you have to choose between us.” she pushed back her tears, not wanting to break in front of him. “I’m tired Jughead. I don’t want to be stuck in this situation anymore.” Jughead closed his fists by his sides, his chest rising and falling in quick breaths.
“Fine. If that’s what you want.” he bitterly replied clenching his jaw before stomping back to Archie’s house, slamming the door behind him.
She turned around, finally letting out all her bottled up emotions, the tears falling freely from her eyes.
You walked into the library, fully expecting it to be empty like it always is. You weren’t prepared for the sight of  Bucky Barnes, sitting on the hardwood floor, surrounded by books. Tony would’ve seriously lost it at the sight. Good thing he rarely came down here.
You observed the soldier for a little while, taking advantage of the fact that he hadn’t yet noticed your presence. He’d only been with the team for two months, so you hadn’t had too many encounters with him. Not enough to know more than the basics about him. You knew enough, though, to know that him being this relaxed and unguarded, enough to not have sensed your presence, was a rare occurrence.
“Don’t take this the wrong way, but I never pegged you for a reader.“
The way his head snapped up towards you further solidified the fact that he’d just been in his own little world. You felt kind of bad for disturbing him but you didn’t want him to think you were creepily spying on him or something when he inevitably noticed you standing there and watching him.  He chuckled and seemed to relax a little when he realized it was you. That was a relief.
 "Well, I’ve always been more of a poetry guy.”
nurseydex royalty au
  • instead of being from Maine, Dex’s family is actually royalty from a small country just outside of America’s east coast with about a million citizens.
  • Dex is born Fitzwilliam Jacob Poindexter II after his mother’s father and is third to the throne after his mother and brother.
  • being the third in line comes with responsibilities much like his brother, but without all of the public recognition, and he has to go through the same kind of grueling education of political wits, charming diplomacy, and easy-going social skills.
  • Dex never did well with the latter. he knew how to talk about his passions and what interested him, how to talk with people he cared for and if they had something important to say. but he hated small talk, never understood why he had to stand around in a room full of people he wasn’t going to see again talking about the weather when he could literally be doing anything else.
  • but he managed, and his advisers all agreed he would make a fine king if tragedy would succumb his brother.
  • so Dex gets that the crown prince’s primary goal is to marry and somehow produce an heir who can further the republic.
  • which is why he politely waits until his brother’s engaged and well on his way of becoming the next regent before he tells his parents that he’s gay.
hyunwoo
  • the relatively quiet neighbor
  • very self-sufficient, can cook like eggs, bacon, and rice pretty well
  • does his own laundry and usually likes to kick back, watch some tv when he has nothing else to do
  • his friends love to come over and pester him so sometimes he pretends he’s not home
  • will even fall asleep when he’s hiding from minhyuk or jooheon
  • sometimes you forget he lives in the building bc literally no sound comes from that side of the wall
  • well, not always (you found this one out come about a week into your arrival into the complex)
  • so unknown to everyone else’s knowledge except his buds that inhabit the building, hyunwoo’s actually a dance instructor
  • a lot of the time he’ll actually do his routines at home, often having to rearrange furniture and play the dance song and all, and unfortunately, this means making a lot of…. sounds
  • this is the first time you’re experiencing this so you’re actually not sure what to think considering you’ve just moved in next door
  • all you hear is the furniture getting moved about and music starts playing and oh god you hear grunting too
  • you’re actually very sure you heard someone enter his apartment too though you can’t really hear their voices
  • it’s not like you tried to hear it or anything though you admit your neighbor’s extremely attractive you’re seriously not trying to think of what he’s doing and why he’s being so goddamn loud and oh god it’s like the fifth time in a row you hear the next bout of music and grunts and you’re actually a little traumatized
  • for the most part, you try not thinking about it whenever you see him but jesus it’s too hard when you’re grabbing your mail and he comes out looking all sweaty and exhausted and yeah nope abort
  • you do your best to avoid making eye contact with him even if he’s your super attractive neighbor with nice arms and a nice smile :(
  • the only time you’ll ever notice him is if he sees someone (either you or one of the elderly tenants) struggling to carry some things like groceries and he’ll be there in a flash
  • like you were at the entrance with like two boxes stacked from your old place and hyunwoo just appeared and said “oh!! lemme help you with that”
  • and of course you couldn’t really say no bc he’s already taking them from you and already making his way up the stairs since the elevator would be under renovation and he actually makes an effort to chat with you about life and how you like it in the building and even though you feel awkward about remembering that tidbit he apologizes for always dancing so late and probably blasting his music so loud
  • and you’re like “wait what”
  • and he goes “well, yeah i’m sure you’ve noticed the music! i’m a dance instructor so i practice a lot and my friends come by since they dance too so if we’re loud then i apologize-”
  • you’re just like “oh thank god”
  • him: o: “what”
  • you sheepishly admit you thought he was having sex for like five hours straight and he really almost drops your stuff in shock and he cheeks get all beet red and he’s stammering like that isn’t possible
  • and you just laugh, trying to calm him because you’re just grateful he wasn’t banging someone for that long so many times a night
  • and he goes “i assure you i’m very single” and oh dear lord he really actually set the boxes down at your doorway to facepalm
  • and you just wink at him and say, “well, i’m glad. i’ll see you around, hyunwoo! maybe you can teach me a dance or two~”
Authors note: What do you guys think? Should Shawn still be a jerk to her or should he start to warm up to her? TELL ME TELL ME TELL ME
Recap: “I’ll see you next time.” He grins at me while I stare indifferently at him. “Y/n.”
I slammed the door. There was no way in hell that the arrogant man who was just in my room was my soulmate. Not unless someone stuffed something up.
“Mum?” I ask, looking up at her from my yogurt and granola breakfast. It was the morning after the visit from my soulmate- who I still didn’t know the name of.
“Yes Sweetie?” She turns to me from where she stands by the sink, washing the dishes.
“Is it possible that a match can be a mistake?” I bite my lip, awaiting her answer.
Her eyebrows scrunch in confusion. “Not at all, Y/n. Why do you ask that?”
I push the oats around with my spoon, feeling disappointed. “I just saw a match the other day and they’re the complete opposite of each other. In any other world I think they wouldn’t have even spared each other a glance.”
She hums, thinking it over. “Sometimes the soulmate system is like that. We put people together who some may think would never work. Yes we take appearances into consideration, but it’s really about what’s on the inside.” She sends me a small smile. “We don’t just mix and match Y/n, you know that the matching officials spend months picking the perfect pairs. Occasionally we get soulmates where we wonder did we make the right decision or will they even work?”
“So there could be mistakes?” I ask hopefully, and she pauses, scanning my expression curiously.
“I wouldn’t bet on it Honey. We never make errors. The human race depends on the system too much for us to stuff things up.”
I nod absentmindedly. “What if one of them was hell-bent on never having a soulmate?” I ask quietly, feeling a weight on my chest.
“You’re asking a lot of unusual questions today. Are you feeling okay?” Mum asks, wiping the suds off her hands and walking over to me.
“Yeah, I guess I’m just nervous to meet my soulmate. What do I do if he doesn’t want me.” My voice is so quiet now and I fear that if I raise it, I’ll start crying.
“Honey, you can’t think like that. That is the worst case scenario that you’re thinking of.” She leans over the counter top of the breakfast bar to stroke a piece of hair behind my ear.
“If that does happen, here’s what you’re going to do.” She has a determined look in her eyes and I know that I’m in for a good pep talk.
“What am I going to do?” I grin at her and she holds my hands, keeping my gaze.
“You’re going to walk right up to your soulmate and say, “Its too bad that you don’t want me because I am the greatest girl you’re ever going to get! No one’s going to treat you the way I’do treat you and there’s no way in hell that you’d find a girl who would love you the way I’d love you.” I laugh, shaking my head at my Mum’s attempt to cheer me up.
“If that doesn’t work just slap a little sense into him.” She winks at me and I smile, shaking my head.
“You’re crazy Mum,”
“Hey! We share the same DNA so you’re calling yourself crazy.” She scolds me and I get up, putting my bowl by the sink.
As I’m about to leave I say the one thing I know that will rile her up more than anything. Chucking a grin at her I call “People say I look more like Dad. Your genes are weak!”
I think a plate might have smashed.
A knocking on my door breaks my concentration from the book I was reading. I still, waiting to hear the sound again. More knocking persists and I feel my stomach flip. The sound wasn’t coming from my bedroom door, it was the one leading to my patio.
It was dark outside, my alarm clock reading 9:36.  I peel the covers off my body, goosebumps appearing on my bare legs, my sleep attire only consisting of a large t shirt and some pajama shorts. Creeping over to the door, I peek out of the curtains.
My soulmate stands on the other side of the glass, an unimpressed look on his face. He mouths something and I stare at him, confused.
“What?” I say, pulling the curtains away. He points at the door and I smirk, finally understanding what he wants.
“You want to come inside?” I say smugly, placing my hands on my hips. He nods once, shoving his hands into his jean pockets and rocking back on his heels. Surprise, surprise, he was wearing all black again.
I wave good bye at him, and a look of shock appears on his face just as the curtain covers him. I grin as I walk back to my bed, feeling triumph as I was the one who got to walk away this time.
My doorknob rattles and I sit back on my bed, confident that in a few minutes he’d be gone. Once again, it looks like I’ve underestimated my soulmate.
The door opens, a chilly air brushing over my legs. My match slides through, his hair a ruffled mess atop his head.
“That wasn’t very nice of you Princess.” He grins, shutting the door behind him.
“I don’t want to know how you got in, again.” I tell him, picking my book back up to read, intent on ignoring his presence.
“I came all this way to see you and you’re just going to ignore me?” He pouts cheekily and I close my novel calmly. Getting back up, I prowl towards my match.
“So you finally come crawling back to your soulmate? Thought you didn’t want me?” I taunt, waiting for his reply of disinterest to hit me. My words seem to roll off him however.
“I don’t.” He states, yet for a second he looked unsure. I stare back at him, my mother’s words filling my mind.
“Listen here Match.” I spit, stepping closer to him. “Its too bad that you don’t want me because I am the greatest girl you will ever get.” He doesn’t say anything, just waits for me to continue.
“You are missing out on the best thing that could ever happen to you. No one’s going to treat you the way I’d treat you and there’s no way in hell that you’d find a girl who would love you the way I’d love you.”
It’s silent, and my cheeks heat in embarrassment from my outburst. He grips my chin softly, forcing me to meet his hazel eyes. He’s close enough that I could kiss him if I wanted to. I hold my breath waiting for his response.
Leaning close enough that our noses brush he whispers, “I’ll take my chances”, then he’s gone and I’m left standing there wondering what the heck just happened.
It was your 1 year anniversary, but you two had been best friends for long before that because you had been hunting with the Winchesters since before Cas arrived. Cas had been an amazing best friend and boyfriend for the past year but you hadn’t got a lot of date nights due to the release of Amara and Cas being possessed by Lucifer for a while, and you didn’t need date nights as per say but you always enjoyed spending a night alone with Cas.
You knew you should have stayed home today.
You looked up at the man who was pressed against you but it was too dark in the utility closet he had pulled you into.
He was looking out of the crack in the door at the thousands of people milling around the airport. The sliver of light bisected his face showing a black baseball cap, scruff along a hard-set jaw and black shirt.
Your back was against the wall and most of his hard body was pressed along yours. When you moved your head to try and see around him, your cheek brushed against his shoulder. You could feel the warmth radiating off him where his chest was mashed against yours.
You kept waiting on the panic to set in. A strange man had come out of nowhere and grabbed your arm. He told you to, “Play along,” as he hauled you along with him. Next thing you knew, he had opened a door and pushed you through it. Once you were inside, he had bent low and told you that he, “Wasn’t going to hurt to you, and will explain in a minute.” You had only caught a glimpse of him, but you were pretty sure you saw the light glint off a metal arm.
We Are Family
Lance Week Day One: Family
So I know I’m cutting it extremely close, but I was at work today. Anyways, here’s my first entry for Lance Week. Enjoy!!
Lance was a middle child, so he was used to being the one who kept the peace between everyone. He was also used to being left out of things a lot. Too young to hang with his older sibling, and too old to play with his younger ones. This is how he often found himself among the adults in his family. They found it cute how he’d like to sit with them and join their conversations about politics, sports, and religion. It was this reasons his parents placed a lot of responsibilities on him. Watch your younger siblings while we’re at work, keep your older ones from fighting, make sure everyone eats if we’re late, clean up the place before bed. It was a lot of work placed on his small little shoulders, but one of his greatest fears was disappointing his parents. So, he’d just grin and bear it.
When he joined the Galaxy Garrison, he didn’t really have to look out for anyone but himself, and his best friend Hunk of course. It was so liberating not having so many responsibilities and worries like he did back home. No one expected too much from him, and since the groups were separated by age he was just right to hang out with everyone. Not too young and not too old. It was perfect. Well not to perfect, the one thing that remained the same was him always being compared to someone. Back home it was his older brother. Then at the Garrison, it was Keith. Got shot up into space and he’s still being compared to Keith. Still, things weren’t so bad, or at least that’s what he had convinced himself the for the first few months.
After a while, the quietness of the castle started to get to him. If he wasn’t making the noise himself, it had a far too eerie feel to the place. Though as time passed he started to quiet down, not wanting to annoy everyone just so he can keep himself sane. When he talked to Blue about it, she decided to fill his head with the sound of the ocean to comfort him, especially on restless nights. It still wasn’t the same. Who would’ve known that Lance would miss the constant bickering that his home provided?
One thing that apparently remained, however, was the separation between everyone that had Lance feeling alone. He wasn’t smart enough to talk tech stuff with Hunk and Pidge, he wasn’t strong enough to train with Shiro and Keith, and he was too human to relate to anything to Allura and Coran talked about. Heck, even the mice had each other to converse with. And while Lance of course still had Blue, it just wasn’t the same as having an abled bodied person to interact with. Once again, he was alone.
Who do you want?
Jughead x Reader x Archie
Request: Can you do an imagine where the reader has feelings for both Jughead and Archie, but doesn’t want to hurt either of them.
Summary: Jughead, Archie, Reader love triangle
word count: 1.5k
this is a bit shit i’m sorry I’ve had a lot on the past couple of weeks
I sat in pops, the iridescent lights leaving an ominous glow amongst the few people who decided to stay here at this time of night. I sit there reading a book waiting for Archie, it was a Tuesday night which meant Archie and I were due for milkshakes and a bowl of fries. He arrived without my notice, my nose too far in my book for me to care about any other being I this current moment.
I jump and let out a gasp as a pair of large hands wraps themselves around my eyes, blocking my view from the words before me.  “Archiekins” I giggle turn lifting my hands to his to pry them away from my eyes, only to be met by the infamous ginger himself. His dashing smile taking over his face. “Scoot over y/n/n” he says in my ear gesturing with his head for me to move over in the booth. I move over allowing him to slide in beside me.
He gently places an arm over the back of the booth behind my shoulders. I sink back into my seat letting his arm brush against my shoulders slightly. It was moments like these I thought we’d make the perfect couple. He always treated me so well, and we’d shared a couple of kisses in the past from being caught up in a heated moment. But something always manages to get in the way.
Jughead Jones. He never fails to sway my feelings for the ginger haired preppy boy before me. Whenever everything is going perfectly between us, Jughead always seems to pop up in some way and I’m never able to shake those feelings I get when he’s around.
He was the complete opposite to Archie. Where Archie Andrews held musical and physical talent, and was no doubt Mr. Popularity as of recently (and was easy on the eye) Jughead Jones was boorish in some manners but it suited him, he held a high level of intelligence that no one else could equate to and had distinctive features that made him attractive.
It was fair to say that they both had qualities I was attracted to. And both of them had been pining after me for months. I knew because both Veronica and Kevin had been telling about Archie’s feelings towards me, I didn’t know about Jughead until I overheard him speaking with Betty about it.
At times it feels like they are fighting over me. I can never hang out with the group anymore because every-time I do there always ends up being chaos.
“So what do you say y/n?” I hadn’t realised I had zoned out until Archie asked the question.
“Huh? What sorry, Arch I didn’t hear you, I zoned out?” I reply slightly ashamed at the fact he had been sat here speaking to me for 5 minutes while I blanked him.
“Can I take you out on a date this Saturday? We could go out of town or something?” he speaks quietly getting nervous. Just as he finishes his sentence, Jughead walks through the door and sits down at the table opposite us. Archie sighs and lets out a “typical” shaking his head I just look between the two a little stunned. This seems to be a reoccurring theme. Whenever one tries to take things further the other magically appears. “Sorry did I interrupt something” Jughead says looking between Archie and I with a confused look on his face. “No-“I go to reply but was interrupted by a rather pissed off Archie “Actually yeah, Jug you are, don’t you find it convenient how, I say I’m going to take y/n out and you happen to turn up just as something is going to happen?” Archie beings to raise his voice.
“Woah- something was going to happen? And what exactly was that Archie?” I interject. Not really enjoying the fact he’s speaking about me as if I’m not even here. “You know what I mean y/n/n” he sighs and looks towards me. Jughead sits up straight. His jaw locked looking between Archie and I and realising how close we were.
“oh and what was it that you said to the football team Arch, something getting laid and y/n being ‘lucky girl’ who gets the honour?” Jughead smirks towards Archie knowing he had something on him.
“Could you two stop treating me like an object for one second and perhaps take my feeling into account? I’m tired of you two competing for my attention. I like you both okay. I can’t decide what I want right now because I just don’t know” I stand up brushing past Archie and exit the diner walking towards my car.
I jump into the small vehicle and make the short journey home.
Later that evening I find myself laying in bed thinking over everything that has happened with both of them over the past few months when a text comes through on my phone.
Juggie: Hey y/n I’m outside could you let me in so we can talk?
I sigh and walk downstairs opening the front door to see Jughead standing on my lawn looking a little dishevelled. I gesture for him to come in and he does, slipping his shoes off in the doorway before slinking off upstairs, into my room, I follow him closing and locking the door behind me.
“Look about befor-“
“It’s fine Jughead, lets just leave it” I sigh walking around to sit on the bed.
“No I’m tired of leaving it, we always leave it. You always give Archie a chance and you never give me a chance.” He says looking down at his hands.
“At least let me try something before you completely give up on the idea of us” he whispers. I nod and he takes my hands pulling me off the bed so I’m standing in front of him.
    His hands slip around my waist and one glides up my arm to land on my shoulder. I hold in my breath at the gentle caresses and movements of his fingers on my skin. He leans down and places a kiss on my lips. I just stand there shocked un-able to move. My body felt like ice and as his warm lips melted into mine I shattered into a thousand pieces. I lifted my arms a little to rest on his biceps and I moved my lips with his. I pulled away breathless. Smiling I looked into his eyes and saw something in them I never had before.
“What do you want y/n” he asks me quietly. He knew exactly what he was doing and knew what the answer was going to be.
Long Lost Sister Masterlist
Masterlist
Sam and Dean stood there with their mouths hanging open. No, there was no way the young women standing in front of them could be Y/N. She’d been off at school when the ghouls had gotten Adam and their mom, hence why she was still alive; so how had she become a hunter?
“Well, I’d say it was nice to finally meet you, but that would be lie.” Y/N gave a small nod and started to head back up the hill toward the road.
“Wait!” Sam sprinted forward and grabbed her arm, stopping her in place. Sam turned her back around to face himself and Dean. “You can’t just walk off.”
Y/N gave him a confused look, “Why not?”
“Why not?” Dean asked. This kid wasn’t serious was she? “Because you just announced that you’re our sister. You don’t think we were just going to let you skip off now did you? Especially if you’re hunting.”
Y/N huffed and then paused seeing the serious expressions they both had, “Wait, you’re not serious, are you? Really? You’ve know about me for years and haven’t cared before.”
Sam and Dean shared looks. Sam released her arm and shifted nervously from foot to foot. “Listen, Y/N, I know how it probably seems to you-”
“Oh really?” Y/N laughed. She angrily crossed her arms.  “I came home from school because apparently both my brother and mother had been missing for some time. Then I learn that not only are they dead, and killed by monsters, but so was my father. Then on top of that I learn I have two other brothers, that knew about all of this and not only didn’t care to track me down, they couldn’t even spare a minute to fill me in. But yes, I’m sure I’m not seeing it right.”
Dean grimaced, they hadn’t been trying to hurt her. They wanted to protect her and people around them seemed to have an especially short life span. Neither of them wanted that for her. Sam tried again, “Y/N, I imagine that was a lot to handle and I’m sorry, you had to handle it all by yourself. Look we can explain our side of the story and we definitely have some questions for you, but right now we’re surrounded by a bunch of headless bodies and morning is just around the corner. Why don’t we clean this up and go somewhere to talk?”
“Why should I go anywhere with you?”
“Because if we stay here we’re likely to get arrested for manslaughter.” Dean snarked. Sam shout him the bitch face; could Dean have worst timing?
“You should come with us because we genuinely want to talk to you. We could have just let you run off when you wanted to, but we didn’t.” Y/N paused; clearly very apprehensive about going with them.
“Fine, but you get to do the cleaning. I’ll meet you at the bar down on third street.” With that she turned and headed back up to the road.
“We’ll be there.”
Dean looked at Sam like he was crazy, “Dude, you don’t think she’s actually going to show do you? She’s going to run.”
Sam shook his head, “I don’t think so man. At the very least she has a lot she wants to tell us off for. I think that’ll be enough to get her to actually show, and who knows, she might even be interested in what we have to say.”
When the brothers arrived at the bar an hour later Dean still wasn’t convinced they were going to find their sister inside. Y/N had been more than eager to get away from the two of them, not that he blamed her; so the thought that she would come back to hear them out seemed like a long shot. Sam on the other hand was convinced that she would be waiting there for them. Dean just hoped his brother wasn’t wrong.
They entered the building and immediately noticed Y/N at the bar, throwing a shoot back. The pair headed over towards her. Y/N noticed them coming and turned back to the bartender.
“Three beers.” She fluttered her eyelashes at him and he smirked, raking his eyes up her body before placing the three drinks in front of her. Dean felt his blood boil as the bartender obviously checked Y/N out; he’d only known her an hour and he already felt protective over her. Y/N winked at the older man, “Thanks.”
“No problem sweetheart,” he leaned closer to her, bracing himself against the bar and Sam coughed, altering them to the Winchester’s presence. The bartender straightened up again, and moved back down the bar.
Y/N grabbed the beers and stood up, moving toward one of the booths in the corner. Before he could stop himself Dean he was asking, “Are you even old enough to be drinking?”
She winked at him, “According to my federal agent badge I’m 27. Also, I got us free drinks. You’re welcome”
“I’d rather pay for them then have the bartender undressing you in his mind.”
Y/N rolled her eyes and slid into the booth. Sam and Dean sat down on the bench opposite her. The siblings sat in an awkward silence for a few minutes, sipping at their drinks, unsure of who should go first. Sam decided to get it over with and ask a question.
“How did you start hunting? How did you even find out about hunting? Adam didn’t have a clue until, well, you know.” Y/N looked down at the mention of her brother, picking at the label on her beer.
“There was a werewolf in town. Hunters came around asking questions. One of them recognized Dad from a picture I had up in the house. They then accidentally filled me in on the truth; they assumed that if I was John Winchester’s daughter I knew about monsters. They also told me about both of you, what happened to Adam and how you two idiots almost ended the world, the first time. You guys seemed to have done that quite a few times, huh?”
“You know about that?” Sam asked, slightly embarrassed.
“Yeah, I know about all of it. You guys are kind of hunting legends. Hunters talk about you all the time and if they’re not, all you have to do is ask. They have no problem educating others on all the good- and bad you guys have done.”
“That must have been a lot to process,” Sam smiled at her sympathetically.
“As I got more and more into hunting I learned more. The hardest part was accepting what happened to my mom and Adam.” Y/N smiled down sadly at her beer, bringing it back up to her lips again.
Sam felt bad for her. Sure, Dean and him had had a hard life, but at least they had each other, Y/N was left all alone. All her family, except for him and Dean was dead. Sam knew how that felt. It was how he felt when Dean died and especially when Dean went to Purgatory. A part of him blamed himself and Dean. How would things have worked out if they had gone to her after he got freed from the cage, or even after they found out the ghouls had killed the rest of her family? She had become a hunter anyway, even though they had kept their distance to avoid that.
“We’re sorry about it. About all of it, and I’m sorry if us staying away made that worse in any way. We were trying to keep you safe, just like Dad was before us. Hunting is dangerous. That’s why he never told you what he did and that’s why we stayed away. The ghouls were handled and we thought you were safe; that you were away from it all.”
Y/N scoffed, “I was alone. The only family I had ever known was all dead. Doesn’t seem like it was best for me.”
Dean leaned forward across the table toward her, “Kid, being close to Sam and I… well life doesn’t turn out so great for the people we care about. Their either all dead or they’ve suffered through a lot of pain because of us. We wanted to save you from that. Trust me, we did what we thought was best. It wasn’t because we didn’t love you or want to meet you; it was just the opposite. We wanted to keep you safe and the best way to do that is for you to be as far away from hunting and us as possible.”
“I think what Dean is trying to say is that at the time it was the only thing we knew to do. Dad had so perfectly managed to keep you and Adam from the life before we hoped maybe we could keep you from it by staying away.” Sam continued. He looked over at Dean who just nodded. “But now that you’re in the life, now that we’ve meet you, well we’d like to continue to get to know you. Why don’t you come with us? We can hunt together, we even have a house, of sorts, you can have your own room and everything.”
Y/N sat there with a shocked look on her face. She’d meet her brothers maybe two hours ago tops and now they were inviting her to move in with them? “You want me to move in with you and hunt with you?”
“Well you’re sure as hell not hunting by yourself anymore.” Dean exclaimed and Sam stepped on his foot under the table.
Y/N raised her eyebrows at Dean, “Excuse me? I don’t need your blessing, thanks though.”
Sam quickly jumped in, trying to smooth over the rising tension, “I think what Dean meant is that hunting can be dangerous, and while you’ve proved yourself more than capable I think we’d both feel more comfortable if you’d didn’t hunt along. And preferably with us. Not to mention having you live at the bunker with us gives us all a great opportunity to get to know each other better.”
“So what do you say?” Dean grinned at her.
