Plant of the Day
Friday 1 September 2017
In 2001 ‘Landform’ was created by architect Charles Jencks, the shapes inspired by nature, from waves, clouds and geological formations. The work is made of lawn (range of mown grass species) on soil mounds with a central water feature and is located in front of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh - it is a combination of sculpture, garden and land art. As you walk around the mounds you can see how the different microclimates have resulted in differing species colonising the grasses including mosses on the shaded slopes.
