Adam Lanza’s Dank Cookie Recipe

I’m sure this has been posted on this site many times, but I thought I’d post it again just to remind the masses of how Adam Lanza dropped the dankest vegan cookie recipe of 2011

Like guys, he literally started a thread just so he could share this recipe. Anyway, here it is:

“~Oatmealberry Chipnut Cookies! 
Mix: 3 cup oats (The smaller and powderier the better) 
1 cup flour (I’m partial to wheat) 
½ cup water (Adding slightly more later on might help) 
¾ cup peanut butter (Not too liquid, not too solid. Juuust right!) 
½ cup turbinado-style sugar (The larger the granules the better)
1 teaspoon cinnamon (Ginger sucks) 
½ teaspoon salt (Fuck anticaking agents) 
½ cup dried cranberries (The smoother the better) 
½ cup dried blueberries (The juicier the better) 
½ cup milk-free chocolate chips (About a cubic centimeter per chip. Mingled units add a flair of fun!) 
Greased cookie trays are for commies.
Bake them for however long you want. Or not at all. They don’t have any meat in them, after all!”

Cocktails for people who really dislike alcohol

I’ve found that pretty much any liquor is tolerable when mixed with enough sprite or lemonade. I hosted a party last night and made these drinks and everyone, including my friends who hate the taste of alcohol, really liked these. I have no idea whether any of these drinks have other names or already exist or whatever but I came up with these combinations on the fly and just picked names that sounded interesting. You need a cocktail shaker, ice, a jigger, lemons, limes, sprite, lemonade, large grain sugar like turbinado, and assorted liquor.

Fleur de Lis
Mix 1 cup of lemonade, 1.5oz of Chambord raspberry liqueur, 1oz of vodka, and 0.5oz of simple syrup in a shaker with ice. Rim a tall glass with turbinado sugar, pour over ice and garnish with a slice of lemon.

Blue Spruce
Mix 1oz of Bombay sapphire gin, 0.5oz pine syrup (dramapothecary.com), and 0.5oz blue Hpnotiq with about 1 cup of sprite in a short tumbler over ice. Optional: garnish with washed pine needles

Fiji Blue (this was super popular)
Mix 1oz of blue Hpnotiq, 1oz of blue curaçao, and 1 cup of sprite in a short tumbler with ice. Rim glass with turbinado sugar and garnish with a slice of lime.

Raspberry Orange Twist
Mix 1.5oz Chambord raspberry liqueur, 1oz cointreau, 1oz lime juice, and 1 cup of sprite in a tall glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.

Lilac Spritzer
Mix 1.5oz of blue Hpnotiq, 0.5oz of grenadine, and 1 cup of sparkling water in a short glass rimmed with sugar.

I’ll make these tonight with photos because some of them are really pretty.

Sweet Almond Cinnamon Rolls with Roasted Strawberry Glaze 

What says summer more than fresh strawberries?! However, I knew that I couldn’t make just any ol’ cinnamon rolls. I had to find a way to make them special, and these are special. and delicious. and buttery. and just, freaking amazing. I used my own cinnamon roll recipe with some tweaks, and these came out perfectly. The roasted strawberries give an unreal strawberry flavor, mixed with the warmness of the cinnamon and nutmeg in the dough. Just perfect

Ingredients for Dough 

4 cups all purpose flour 

2 tsp nutmeg

1 cup Silk almond milk + ¼ cup water, warmed to 110 degrees Fahrenheit 

1 package active dry yeast 

1 egg, room temperature 

¼ cup + 1 tsp granulated sugar 

¼ cup unsalted butter, softened 

¼ tsp vanilla extract 

1 tsp salt 

Directions for Dough 

Oil a large bowl and set aside. 

In a large bowl or stand mixer fitted with dough hooks, combine all of the dry ingredients.

In a small bowl or mixing cup, mix the warm water and warm almond milk together. Add in the egg and vanilla and whisk. 

Sprinkle over the yeast and wait for it to activate (about 3 minutes). 

NOTE: If the liquids are too cold, the yeast won’t activate. If the liquids are too ht, they will kill the yeast.

Gently begin to mix the dry ingredients together while slowly adding in the wet ingredients. 

Once the wet ingredients are incorporated, add in the butter in increments until combined.

Let the mixer knead the dough for 8-10 minutes, until smooth.

Pull the dough together with your hands and place into the oil bowl, ensuring that all sides are oiled (so a crust does not form). 

Let rise, covered, in a dark, warm spot for 1 - 1 ½ hours 

Ingredients for Roasted Strawberries 

½ cup strawberries, sliced in half 

2 tbsp balsamic vinegar 


Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a small baking dish lined with parchment paper, spread the strawberries in a single layer and drizzle with balsamic vinegar. 

Roast for 15-20 minutes or until softened completely. 

Once roasted, let cool before pureeing. 

Once cooled, puree and set aside. 

Ingredients for Filling 

1 cup sliced almonds, roughly chopped in food processor 

1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened 

1 tbsp ground cinnamon 

¾ cup brown sugar

¼ cup Turbinado (Demerara) sugar 

2 tbsp melted butter 


Butter/grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line the baking dish with parchment paper and set aside. 

Once the dough has risen, remove from the oiled bowl and place onto a well-floured surface. 

Roll  the dough until it is about a 15x9 inch rectangle – slightly larger than your baking dish.

Smear the softened butter onto the dough. 

Combine the ingredients for the filling except the almonds and sprinkle on top of the dough, covering every place where there is butter. 

Pat the filing into the dough using the palm of your hand.

Repeat the previous steps with the almonds. 

Starting from the long end, roll the dough similar to a jelly roll, making sure to press the seams of dough together once you have finished rolling. 

If you want, cut the end bits off of the dough log. 

You should be able to get 16 small cinnamon rolls or 8 large cinnamon rolls from the dough. 

Place the rolls cut side down in the baking dish, cover and let rise again for 45 minutes. 

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 

When the cinnamon rolls have risen once again, brush the melted butter on the top of the rolls and bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. 

Ingredients for Glaze 

3 oz cream cheese, softened 

¼ cup warm almond milk 

2 cups powdered sugar 

Roasted strawberry puree 


About 5-10 minutes before the cinnamon rolls are done baking, make the glaze by combining all ingredients except the warm milk into a bowl.

NOTE: the amount of powdered sugar used will vary depending on how sweet you’d prefer the glaze. 

Combine the ingredients and mix until the desired consistency is reached. For a thicker glaze, add less almond milk. For a runnier glaze, add more milk.

When the cinnamon rolls are done baking, let them cool for a few minutes and immediately drizzle on the glaze. 

Serve while warm. 


Vanilla Olive Oil Sugar Scrub

  • ½ cup granulated (white) sugar
  • 2 cups Turbinado sugar (sugar in the raw)
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla extract (or your favorite essential oil)

Directions: Combine the two sugars in a bowl and mix to incorporate. Add olive oil and stir. Mix in honey and vanilla. Store in an airtight jar and enjoy!

* This is a coarse scrub, if you would like a more gentle scrub you can substitute brown sugar for the turbinado sugar.
* Always exfoliate before shaving to prevent irritation and achieve a better shave.
* You may add more olive oil to your jar after packing if you desire a different consistency.
* Oil will settle in the jar so stir before using.
* I do not recommend using this scrub on your face. It is intended for use on the body only.

Skyfall cocktails part II


Plymouth Gin, a drink as English as the Union Jack and bulldogs, is not for the fainthearted. But mixed with lime juice and dry vermouth it becomes an elegant cocktail.

1. Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass with several ice cubes.

2. Stir well.

3. Strain into a chilled old-fashioned glass filled with ice.

4. Garnish with the maraschino cherry.


A very simple in preparation but exquisitely aristocratic cocktail.

1. Build the ingredients into a brandy snifter.

2. Stir and serve.


An unsophisticated but  truly relaxing cocktail after a stressful week.

1. Pour the Guinness into a pint glass or beer mug.

2. Top with the cola.


A vegan variation of the eggnog, perfect for people who don’t have time to drink except for the holiday season.

The ingredients for 10 servings (in case of spending holidays at work in Q-department):

21 oz extra-firm silken tofu

2 cups soymilk

2/3 cup turbinado sugar, light brown sugar, or sucanat (or use ½ cup honey or 1 cup alternate liquid sweetener)

¼ tsp salt

1 cup cold water

1 cup rum

4 ½ tsp vanilla extract

20 ice cubes


1. Place the crumbled tofu and soymilk in a blender with the sugar and salt.

2. Blend until very smooth.

3. Scrape this into a large bowl or pitcher, and whisk in the water, rum and vanilla.

4. Mix well, cover, and refrigerate until serving time.

5. To serve, blend half of the mixture in the blender with 10 of the ice cubes until frothy.

6. Repeat with the other half.

7. Serve in glasses with nutmeg sprinkled on top.

  • 2 cups unbleached organic all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons Early Grey tea (from about 4-5 bags)
  • 6 ounces non-dairy margarine
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla soy milk, or other non-dairy milk
  • vanilla sugar, for the cookie edges (optional)


  • In the bowl of a food processor, combine the sugars, salt and tea and pulse until the tea is pulverized.  Add the flour, and pulse again until everything is evenly mixed.
  • Add the margarine, vanilla and soy milk, and pulse again until a dough starts to form.  Dump it out into a bowl, and knead just until everything comes together and the loose bits of flour are incorporated.
  • Divide the dough in half, and roll each half into a log about 12-inches long.  (Mine were a bit shorter because I wanted my cookies to be a little bigger).  Wrap the dough logs in plastic or parchment, and put them in the fridge to chill for at least 30 minutes.  Heat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Remove the dough from the fridge, and cut slices that are about 1/3″ thick. (See Notes).  Place them on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and bake for about 10 – 12 minutes, or until the centers are set, rotating the trays halfway through the cooking time.  Let them sit on the trays for at least 10 minutes to cool, and then transfer them to cooling racks.
  • Notes: I rolled the edges of my dough logs in some vanilla sugar before cutting them.  It didn’t show up that much on the finished cookies, but it added a nice extra bit of vanilla flavor.  You could also use turbinado sugar if you’d prefer, but it’s totally optional.

Firestone “Stickee Monkee”

Stickee Monkee is a limited-release Quadrupel brewed with an addition of Turbinado brown sugar and Belgian candi sugar, then aged for up to fourteen months in fine bourbon oak barrels. Its name is a nod to Belgian monks, but also references the Sticky Monkey flower that grows along the California coast. This was originally created in 2010 to fill in the sweet gap in the brewery’s barrel-aged Anniversary Ale blending program, but was just recently bottled for first time in May 2014. Firestone prefers the term “Central Coast Quad.”

On the nose, sweet aromas abound with brown sugar, butterscotch, and toffee. A big barrel presence gives hints of coconut, vanilla, tobacco, and leather. Malts smell like banana bread and graham crackers. Fruity notes of fig merge with orange zest and cinnamon.

The palate begins in sweet layer of toffee as a creme brulee flavor comes to mind. Malts accumulate into a sticky pool of molasses that stops just shy of cloying. Fruity hints emerge in a character like dried figs, raisins, dates, and plums. The bourbon barrel brings out vanilla, coconut, leather, and musty tobacco. Pushing even deeper, a subtle malt roast develops suggestions of gingerbread muffins with a touch of chocolate. Finishing flavors are salty like peanut brittle, enclosed by a poignant twist of spice with an outline of licorice, rising toward a bitter edge of orange peel. Alcohol eventually surfaces, yet while being disguised in bourbon, offers little distraction. The final flavor reminds me of German chocolate cake. Hop contribution is practically non-existent, appearing only as a faint touch of pine oil on the finish. Mouthfeel is chewy, smooth, and creamy with a full, well-rounded body that closes in heat. Alcohol proves to be incredibly deceptive, so drinkability is unhindered by its influence.

This will go down as my highest-rated domestic Quad. In some ways, it almost tastes more like a bourbon-aged Barleywine. Where most will simply fail to stand up to the greatness of traditional Belgians, this has given me a newfound respect for the American interpretation of a well-established classic. The oak adds a nice degree of complexity that tastes very complementary to the stylistic qualities of the quad. Barrel-aging a Belgian is unheard of, so this is a rather progressive approach as far as I understand. I do think it needs more Belgian yeast in order to to really taste traditional. This should perform wonders in a cellar. Okay, so it might lack the more intricate complexity of a genuine Belgian Quad, but I’m impressed. Stickee Monkee is a delicious brew that gives me one more reason to love Firestone. I highly recommend it!
