GOOD MORNING WORLD ! … I KNOW IT’S NOT MORNING BUT I JUST WOKE UP . AND THE LORD HAS BLESSED US WITH A RE-RELEASED TRACK FROM LIL’ WAYNE’S OLD DAYS WHEN HE WAS STILL SPITTING THAT REAL RAP, NAHMSAYIN? BEING THAT THIS IS MY FIRST POST EVER, I WAS MORE THAN ELATED TO POST MY FIRST REVIEW ON MY FAVORITE ARTIST IN THE GAME. THAT’S JUST WHAT HE IS AND THAT’S WHAT HE DOES. SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADIEU, HERE IS MY REVIEW OF LIL’ WAYNE’S “CRY OUT”.
First off lemme start by saying this is a killer instrumental, shout out to Streetrunner. First time I heard it, felt like I was transported back to 2007 and that nigga Tunechi was gone for good —straight dogfood. “WEEZY IS BACK”! I literally cried out to this empty auditorium, only to realize that I was sadly mistaken —there was something that I forgot. “Cry Out” (Amen) is a track from 2008′s “Tha Carter Leftovers”. Presumably from Tha Carter III specifically— Weezy’s 3x platnium selling album which sold over 1M copies in it’s first week. So if you’re a couple years behind like I was, then take a listen; its a certified banger.
Anyway, we have a story-telling Lil’ Wayne at his best; reminiscing scenes from his old hood that from the sounds of it, we can suppose he narrowly escaped. A dangerous & chaotic place that he holds close to his heart, yet never wished to return. His nostalgia though, is understandable when you consider the fact that these turbulent acts contributed greatly to character he became and continues to be today today: A dynamic & surely unstoppable force in the game whom we can can count on to be there for us ‘til the Carter 8 (infinity–word to the alien) and beyond. Straight legendary shit here ladies and gentlemen. Check it out.
