No TUF spoilers for those that had to DVR it

But one episode deep and I can say without a doubt it’s far better than Season 16.

And it seems this season is going to be less about the antics and more fighter focused.

Really looks like we’ll be in for some great fights.

Also, I plan to never bring up TUF 16 again.

TUF 17 Winner: Kelvin Gastelum

Allow me to start by stating this was one of the best seasons of The Ultimate Fighter we’ve seen in a long time. Great fights, great people and best of all, no goofballs trying to ruin this opportunity for others.

Kelvin Gastelum came into the house a HUGE underdog, rather you like it or not. He’s the youngest and doesn’t look to be as in good shape as the rest. We’ve learned to not let that fool you…

Kelvin Gastelum not only won the ultimate fighter but all of his fights were upsets and shocking due to the fact most people didn’t see him making it far in the TUF competition. His biggest upset was last night against Uriah Hall in the TUF 17 finals. Gastelum was able to take control of most of the fight, using takedowns, striking and also always pushing the pace against Hall. Uriah did land with a few good shots and some nice takedowns such as his back suplex but it wasn’t enough to stop Kelvin Gastelum.

Ultimately, Kelvin Gastelum was able to pick up a Harley Davidson motorcycle but most importantly, a win and a contract to come with.

Congratulations, Kelvin Gastelum. Welcome to the UFC.

Uriah Hall vs. Bubba McDaniel

TUF 17 finalist Uriah Hall (10-4) is set to compete on the prelims for UFC 187 this Saturday (May 23rd). Riding a two fight winning streak, he’s set to face Rafael Natal (19-6-1). With Reign MMA having shut down recently because of Mark Munoz’s retirement, I wonder where Hall’s been training.
