Emma Lindström - Cosmic Compositions

26-year-old painter Emma Lindström creates colorful swirls of awesomeness using a combination of acrylic and spraypaint. Though the artist is from Sweden, her work feels as though it came from an entirely different galaxy. Her paintings are nothing short of celestial — though the colors change piece to piece, she maintains the same galactic visuals that transcends our Earthly imaginations.

When it all comes down to it, my main goal is obviously to evoke some kind of emotion. Hopefully you can find something in my work that speaks to your inner self and the light that resides there…no matter what emotion you might get, the important thing is just that you are feeling something.

For more of Lindström’s work, follow her on Instagram and visit her official website.

Cross Connect Magazine, for artists on Tumblr

(Full article here)

Hi there, I am Martine the Hamster! My first article here! I was saved from the street by Very Private Art in 2014. Now I am earning a living by writing some articles. Today I will present you an exceptional community of online art curators. If you are on Tumblr and passionate for art, you probably know this Community already.

Many creative professionals like artists, designers, photographers and illustrators have received significant public attention after being featured in the Cross Connect Magazine. If your artwork gets the attention from them, the result is like dropping chewy mints in a bottle of soda – it explodes!

This article is a humble tribute to Cross Connect Mag, as it is sharing similar goals as Very Private Art. Without Cross Connect Mag, we would not be able to reach so many art lovers on Tumblr. Actually, 13 Curators are posting almost every day trendy artwork they spot. As it is, they get way more impact that an average Tumblr account.

I hope one day they will accept me to join the team. I recommend personally some curators, I don’t know them all so it is just subjective, others can be great! So if you are an artist, Submit to them!
Clisawork (Great content selected with sensitivity)
- Yellowmenace (mostly for Asian-related art)
- Turecepcja (my favorite, she is helpful and passionate about Tumblr.)
- Littlelimpstiff (very eclectic)

Floating Worlds by Catherine Nelson

Catherine Nelson  born in Sydney 1970 is a visual artist who uses the digital medium to paint images together into personal and imaginary landscapes. Trained as a painter in Sydney and London and with years of experience in the creation of visual effects for feature films like Moulin Rouge and Harry Potter, she now has dedicates her skills to her own art work combining the techniques from both these worlds into a new contemporary art medium. Drawing upon hundreds of nature photographs, Nelson digitally stitches together each element in a process that takes months to complete.
She now combines technique and experience to create these unique and imaginative landscapes, each one becoming its own detailed microcosm.

Yan Qin Weng  aka Loika is a designer from Sydney, Australia. She graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a B. Design in Visual Communication and First Class Honours.

I make sanctuaries for myself from the places in my head - mountain ranges, narrow alleyways, canopy shadows. If stories were air then I’d breathe my best with a pen in hand and a blank canvas in front.
My highest passion is to draw, but I’m also fond of design, writing, coding and problem solving. I always try to put the best of myself in what I create so that I may love the work I produce.

Nils-Udo (born 1937) is a Bavarian artist who has been creating environmental art since the 1960s when he moved away from painting and the studio and began to work with and in nature.

Even if I work parallel to nature and only intervene with the greatest possible care, a basic internal contradiction remains.

Cecilia Paredes (Peruvian, b.1950) was born in Lima, Peru, where she studied Plastic Arts at the Catholic University of Lima. She later went on to study at Cambridge Arts and Crafts School in England.

She is a contemporary performance and installation artist, who is best known for her unusual work in which she uses her own body as a canvas for body paint. Her last name, Paredes, which means walls in Spanish, perfectly suits her fascination with turning herself into a human chameleon and melting herself into the walls.
