Your eyes flickering over to your friend, you nodded your head. “Yeah…I just had a lot on my mind,” you remarked casually, trying not to let the events of last night pervade your thoughts once more.

Chameleon [part 1]

Synopsis: [in construction]
Requested: not at all
Pairing: Bucky×Reader
Warnings: none so far

This is my first Marvel fanfiction. The storyline and the time are different, some characters weren’t supposed to be there, others are out… Hope you guys like it.
P.S.: You will start seeing more drama and action from chapter 3. Still, the first two chapters are very important.

You weren’t used to be around superheroes. You saw them on tv whenever the news had amateur’s footage of the Avengers’ act of justice around the country and even the world. It was the closest you got from an Avenger before, seeing them through a tv screen in some heroic situation.

But this time was different. You were right there, in front of the national idols, the role models for the kids and teenagers of America. You wanted to feel somehow amazed by that, maybe thankful to have the opportunity to be right there and then with them in the reunion’s room. But you didn’t. You were thinking too much and getting scared of what was to come, it was when Fury introduced you to the team.

“No more procrastination, this is Y/N and she is now one of us. One of you.”
Nobody seemed to understand how could anyone like you be any good to be an Avenger.

Your looks didn’t reveal much about you, there was nothing apparently ‘bizarre’ or heroic about you. You seemed just like a young woman, a regular civilian, nothing very special to be with them. But you were choosen by Nick Fury what made the team give you some respect even if they still didn’t know what were the goods you were bringing to their cause.

“Y/N is going to get a room on the 13th floor.” Your ‘mentor’ pronounced himself once again. “She is also going to train with your guys. For that, I already arrenged her schedule; I want her with you, agent Romanoff. I know you can have this responsibility in your hands.- Stark,” he called the genius that imediatly regretted being in this room if he only knew that Nick was going to ask anything.

“Let’s start working on some technology for our Y/N here.” Fury touched your shoulder in a caring way but never letting down his leader’s attitude.

“For that I’ll need to know what this teenager has to offer…” Tony Stark gave you a mean look, way too curious about your skills. You didn’t care about that, but the way he called you a teenager already built a wall between the two of you. You were no teenager, you were no little 'non harmful’ girl. They didn’t know anything about you. Maybe only Nick.

“I don’t need your technologies. I’ll be fine on my own skin.” Your words caught their attentions and Nick was happy to see what you got to say.

Natasha on the other hand wasn’t so pleased to know she would train you. Well, who were you in the first place? Agent Romanoff wouldn’t help anyone she didn’t know- but she had to, because she trusted Fury and all of the Avengers had this commitment with him. Trust. That’s what being a superhero was all about.

“Captain” the blue eyed man had a serious look towards the both of you, his perfect posture and clenched jaw were things you you took notice of. “May you show Y/N the accommodation is?”

The man nodded. You never thought in your entire life that you would have Captain America to show you around the Avengers’ accommodation while Tony Stark had a massive discussion with Nick Fury in the reunions room. It was comic to you, not so much to the other avengers.

“This is where we train. You’ll spend a lot of time in here with Natasha.” Steve’s serene voice was much better than his serious face from minutes ago. He was trying his best to embrace you in this whole new phase in your life even though all he knew about you was your name.

“Do you know how to throw a punch?” he asked somehow lightning up the mood. He was Captain America but he felt a little intimidated by your mysterious vibe. Who would even think of that? Surely not you.

“I prefer having a strategy, a plan, than to actually throw punchs. But if that’s what you want, I guess I’ll do my best to physically hurt someone.” your words.

Gosh, how scary you were for a girl that looked so angelical and saint. This wasn’t right to his eyes. Steve didn’t expect Fury to bring an amateur to the team, but neither he expected a strategist to join them. He thought you would be more of a physical fighter like everyone else.

Steve was wrong, everybody was wrong. They didn’t know you. You didn’t feel like you were anything like them, but someone completly original, authentic. There wasn’t anyone else like you out there, with the same powers, same life path…

How did you get there though? How did Nick find you? You were so well hidden from the world, from the big city, the villains, the criminals, the people like you and like Fury.

You shook your head before your thoughts turned into words and out of your mouth. Steve looked at you curious and concerned. He had a soft side that told him to take care of you. Nothing unusual for our Steve Rogers.

The captain led your way out of the gym. Both of you walked around the accomodation and he had all the patience to explain to you what every room was for. Sometimes he didn’t know what some of the doors would lead to, but he surely knew they were more of Bruce and Tony’s science labs.

“And this is your new room. I hope you like it. It’s not so fancy but has a nice view.” He pointed to the window where you could see the city from a very hgh level. New York, what a place.

“If you excuse me.” Rogers was making his way out of your room leaving you alone with the beautiful sunset.

After the door was closed, you let out a relieved sigh. This wasn’t going to be any easy. You didn’t feel like a superhero yourself, but you were making it for something important, for someone who trusted you, for your country and everybody else who was on the aim of getting hurt, killed…

You were an Avenger now, even if the other memebers still didn’t accept you completely. Although you felt Rogers having a positive first impression about you and this being important to gain the respect of the others, you knew that whenever they learned what were your 'superpowers’, things wouldn’t be so easy on you.

Dinner time.

“Little Things” - Pietro Maximoff x Female!Reader

Word Count:1321

Warnings: FLUFF! (Things get a lil heated??)

Request:  Hey sweetie, just wanted to say you are awesome. Could I possibly trouble you for a Pietro request? One with lots of fluff possibly where the reader is trying to get him to slow down because of you speed everywhere you might miss out on the little things. Thank you xx ~ @girl-next-door-writes

Author’s Note: Hey guys! I’m so sorry this took so long, I’ve been really busy with school and was struggling to come up with something for this. But, let me know if you like it! I really appreciate the feedback :)

draga = dear

Months have passed since the Battle of Sokovia took place and Pietro had been struggling to keep his mind off of his near-death experience. He was so close to dying, but thanks to Helen Cho and the wonderful doctors at the Avengers base, he recovered quite quickly. But his recovery didn’t stop the nightmares that came at night, the ones that revolved around death and leaving Wanda alone. Sure, she wouldn’t be completely alone. But Pietro was the only family Wanda had left, and he couldn’t leave her. He couldn’t.

There were a few good things that occurred in Pietro’s life after Sokovia, and you were one of them. Pietro met you the first day he (literally) ran into Clint, and boy, was he smitten. Pietro was already known to be a flirt, but goddamn, he couldn’t control himself around you. Flirtatious and witty remarks flowed out of his mouth like a never ending river, leaving you speechless. In Pietro’s experience– before HYDRA– most girls would roll their eyes and walk away if he tried to score a date with them. But you were different.

His affectionate attitude made you smile and laugh, it amused you. Even though you were a new member of the Avengers, you still acted like the rest of the team: like ten-year-olds, constantly vying for each other’s attention and picking on one another to amuse yourselves in serious times. You occasionally flirted back, teasing him and picking on the way he would use the same pet names to describe how “beautiful” you were.

After Pietro got critically injured during the Battle of Sokovia, he confessed that he genuinely did have feelings for you. You laughed but stopped once noticing his face showed a concerned look. He wasn’t joking around this time, he was dead serious.

“How ‘bout a date, Speedy,” you offered while sitting down in a chair next to his bed. “Once you recover, we can go watch a movie and get some ice cream.”

Pietro gave a faint smile, he knew this was his second chance at redemption. Not only did he gain a date with a wonderful person like you, but he got a chance to fix his wrongs and make them right.

Three months later and you two were the cutest couple around. In between Pietro’s heroic races around the city, the two of you would train together and take nice long walks throughout the city. He tried to slow down for you because you made him happy, beyond happy. You made him believe in second chances.

Which is why he got so worried when you left for missions, and the last particular mission made him panic like there was no tomorrow. You and most of the team had been gone longer than anyone had expected, and with the power out in the place and on the comms, it left Pietro with nothing to do but pace around the dark tower.

“Hey, Speedy!” Clint yelled in an attempt to get Pietro to stop.

Pietro came to a halt, giving him a glare. “What?”

“They should be back soon. Don’t fret,” Clint patted Pietro on the shoulder, “You’ll get (Y/n) back.”

Clint walked out of the room, lighting a few more candles which giving the room an eerie vibe. The fire flickered as Pietro walked slowly over to the candle, watching the flames dance as a whish of cold air moved the flame in a way that was hauntingly beautiful. He reached his hand down and pinched the flame, and the light in the room disappeared.

A few hours later, Pietro was in the training room with Wanda. She was trying her best to comfort him, assuring him that you would be back in no time.

“Pietro, listen to me. (Y/n) will be okay. Steve is with her, Sam is with her-”

“Wanda,” Pietro came to a stop in front of her, grabbing her hands in a reassuring way, “You should not waste your time trying to make me feel better.”

Just as Wanda opened her mouth to protest, a ding from the elevator made them both jump. The sound of footsteps filled the halls, briefly interrupted by a faint sound of your laughter. Pietro turned to Wanda, his eyes lit up with joy. The Avengers had finally come back, you were finally back.

Pietro sped around the corner until he saw Steve and the rest of the team.

“Hey, Piet-”

“Move, old man,” Pietro interrupted Steve, slightly pushing him to the side so he could find you. When he didn’t see you standing there, bearing that same beautiful smile, he started to panic.

“Where is she?” He questioned with a stern look.

“Calm yourself, Speedy,” Tony interjected, gesturing towards your room, “She’s in there.”

Pietro sped down the hall (which took less than a few seconds), resulting in gusts of wind blowing everywhere. When he arrived in your quarters, you were unpacking your things. You had already gotten dressed into your casual clothes, but your hair was still a mess and you were still sweating from the crazy mission. Pietro smiled, it was good to see you back in his sight.

“Hi, draga.”

You jumped, dropping your icer on the bed. You quickly turned around to see your lovely boyfriend, gazing at you as if you were a diamond sparkling in the sunshine.

“You scared me,” you laughed as he strode over to you.

“God, I missed you so much,” Pietro smirked, his thick accent covering up his cute little smile.

“I missed you too-”

The speedster had cut you off with a gentle kiss and you giggled as his hands trailed your body, the kiss becoming more and more heated within each moment. He pushed you up against your bedroom wall, and you laughed due to a number of things the two of you had knocked over in the process. Just as he reached down and slowly pulled up your shirt, you broke away from the kiss and placed your hands on his chest.

“Woah there, Pietro,” you joked, “slow your roll.”

Pietro smirked, “What? Do you not want this?”

“Oh, hell yes. But… not right now. I mean, at least another time when I’m not lookin’ like a sweaty potato.”

“Printesa, you are always beautiful. Even now,” Pietro whispered as he started to leave small kisses from your cheek, moving slowly down to your neck. But once again, you softly pushed him away and looked into those beautiful eyes that seemed to have captured the ocean.

“You are sweet, Pietro. But… I think you should stop going so fast,” you offered politely. Pietro tilted his head to the side like a confused puppy and scrunched his face. You just asked Quicksilver, the enhanced with the ability to move faster than humanly possible, to slow down. Once you noticed his facial expression, you burst into laughter.

“Okay, I realize how weird that sounds,” you leaned your head against the wall and rested your arms on Pietro’s shoulders. “But, I guess what I’m trying to say is that… maybe we should take things slow. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I definitely have feelings for you. And the past three months have been the time of my life, but I know you have been through a lot with the whole Sokovia thing. But, you can’t speed your way through life, or else you’ll miss out on the little things.”

Pietro sighed, he knew you were right. You were always right. Except for that one time you ate leftover pasta from two weeks ago but swore it was still okay to eat. That was a mistake.

“What would I do without you?” Pietro asked, his eyes showing nothing but love and compassion.

“Hopefully, you’ll never have to find out.”

You kissed his nose and pulled him in for a tight hug.

“I love you, (Y/n).”

“I love you too, Speedy.”

Bucky Barnes never thought he’d live to fall in love, especially after everything he had been through. He thought love was something he’d have to miss out on because he came with so much baggage. Bucky didn’t think his heart could beat as wildly in his chest as it did the moment he saw you.

You worked in a small cafe, making little no money, trying your best to juggle your college education along with paying a monlthy rent fee in an apartment in New York City. Every day, you were there on the dot at 7am, not a moment late or early.

The same was for Bucky Barnes, but he came in at 7:10am, always allowing you to make yourself a cup of coffee before starting your day. He came in with the biggest smile you’d see the entire shift and you couldn’t understand how someone could be so chipper that early in the morning.

The bell on the glass door made a rather loud ding in the undeniably quiet coffee shop. You looked at the clock and it said 7:10. You smiled, looking up from your hot cup of coffee to see Bucky Barnes with that wide smile of his. Only today, he came in with someone else.

“Hiya Bucky!” You said, waving at him. Bucky and the new man approached you with wide smiles. Bucky’s being the widest, of course. “Good morning, Y/N.” Bucky said back. You smiled at the two. “I’m Sam.” The tall man said, reaching his hand out to you.

You happily shook it. “Y/N.” You smiled. “So, one medium black with a blueberry muffin,” you said, writing down Bucky’s order on the order sheet, “and for you?” You asked Sam. “Medium, two sugars and one cream.” He said. Bucky looked at Sam and scrunched his nose as if to say his order was disgusting.

You wrote his order down and started to ring them up. They both paid and sat down as you got their coffee ready. You glanced over at them and Bucky’s face had turned red as Sam laughed.

You wondered what made Bucky blush so much, but turned back to the pot of brewing coffee. It would take a few minutes, so you started to get other things ready for your shift. Your boss doesn’t come in until 11:30 and you leave at noon.

While you were putting coffee cups in a stack near the counter, you heard Sam talking to Bucky. Your back was to them so they didn’t know you could hear them.

“I’m serious. A girl like her does not stay single forever. Trust me, I or someone else is going to take that chance if you don’t.” You heard Bucky sigh and you wondered who Sam could be talking about.

The timer on the coffee maker had started beeping and you immediately got their coffee ready. Slipping on a cardboard sleeve so they don’t burn their hands, you brought it over to them along with Bucky’s blueberry muffin.

“Here you go, gentlemen.” You said with a smile, setting their cups down in front of them. “Thank you, Y/N.” Bucky said, sounding like a little schoolboy.

He looked up at you with that smile again and you couldn’t help but giggle. “Thanks, miss.” Sam said, sipping on his coffee.  "It’s no problem.“ You said with a smile.

Just as you were about to turn away, Sam stopped you. "Y/N, wait!” Sam said, making you turn back around. “Yes?” You questioned, fiddling with your waist apron. “Bucky wanted to ask you something.” Sam said with a smirk.

You looked at Bucky and he had been mouthing the word no to Sam. Bucky stopped as soon as he met your eyes with his. “U-um, the coffee is delightful!” Bucky nervously said, his smile forced. You laughed softly while Sam snorted.

“I’m glad.” You said with a smile before walking off. They didn’t stop you this time and you heard Sam wheezing. “The coffee is delightful!” Sam mocked in a voice that sounded nothing like Bucky’s. You couldn’t help but laugh but you did it softly so Bucky couldn’t hear you.

The bell ringing made you look up and you saw a nice looking man walking in with a briefcase. You recognized him and you smiled. “Hi David.” You said, getting your order pad ready. He always changed up his coffee, never getting the same thing twice.

“Hey, beautiful. I’d like a caramel macchiato, if you don’t mind.” He said with his deep velvet voice. A smile formed on your lips and your eyes quickly glanced over to Sam and Bucky. A frown was placed on Bucky’s face and you felt your heart drop a little. What had him so upset?

You quickly made David’s order and he smiled as he paid you. “How’s school going?” David asked, tapping his fingers on the counter. You smiled and shrugged your shoulders. “It’s alright, thank you.” You always enjoyed small talk with your customers so you didn’t mind the basic questions.

After you gave David his coffee, he turned on his heel after thanking you and began walking away, until he turned back to face you. “Y/N, did you want to go to dinner with me Saturday night?” He asked, hope in his voice.

“Told you!” You heard Sam whisper shout to Bucky. You glanced at Bucky and his face was red, trying not to look at you. Bucky slowly sipped at his coffee, bouncing his leg up and down.

You sighed and felt guilty. “I’m sorry, I have to study this weekend.” You gently let him down. You weren’t really lying to him, you really had to study. David nodded and tipped his coffee at you. “See you around.” He smiled before leaving.

A small sigh escaped your lips. You got asked out occasionally but you always said no. Nobody stood out to you, except one person. Who was walking up to the counter as you thought about him.

Bucky cleared his throat and stuffed his hands in his pockets. “I had the intention of doing what he just did and when you said no, I had hope. Then it was gone because I have no clue why’d you go out with me if you turned a man like him down.” Bucky said quietly, looking down at you.

Your mouth fell open a tad. “Are you asking me out?” You asked, your heart beating wildly in your chest. Bucky shyly nodded. “I mean, I was going to. If that’s okay. I mean, would-do you want to go on a date with me?” Bucky asked, clearly nervous.

“It doesn’t have to be Saturday.” He added quickly. You giggled softly and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. “I’d love to. Is Friday alright with you?” You asked, watching Bucky breathe a sigh of relief.

Bucky nodded, smiling even wider. “Yes, it’s perfect. You’re perfect.” He breathed. You laughed and Bucky blushed. “Sorry, I-” “Bucky, it’s okay.” You said, quickly jotting down your address and phone number.

You gave Bucky the piece of paper and he happily took it. “I’ll pick you up at 7.” Bucky said, smiling at you.

You blushed and nodded. “I can’t wait.” You said, excitement bubbling in your stomach.

Set Up (Steve Rogers x reader) Part 1

Warnings: Swearing

Request: Hi, could you please write a fic where the reader is close with the Avengers (can be either a recruit or just know them) and really likes Steve but thinks he’s out of her league? Thank you!

You would think being friends with the Avengers would be the highlight of your life but, in fact, it’s quite the opposite of that.

You were constantly in a worried state whenever the team would go on missions as it wasn’t unheard of someone returning with a broken bone, stab wound or a bullet wound. It wasn’t rare for you to crash on the couch in the lounge waiting for them to get back if they were gone longer than they were supposed to. You could get into the tower whenever you wanted, whether it be you were bored, got off work early, wanted some company or when you just weren’t feeling like yourself. You didn’t need a key or a card to get in; FRIDAY let you in, courtesy of Tony.

Sounds great right? Hanging out with the Avengers, having movie nights, game nights, being invited to Tony’s parties. You couldn’t deny that it wasn’t great but, there was one little, tiny problem that had arose over the past six months.

You had hopelessly fallen for Steve Rogers.

It was stupid. It was a dumb little crush but you couldn’t shake it as much as you wanted to. You knew for a fact that he was way out of your league and there was no way you would ever get a chance with him. He was an Avenger; and you were just you. You had no special powers, no abilities, you didn’t even know how to fight even though Natasha had offered multiple times to teach you.

A few times you had gained the confidence to flirt with Steve, but you were convinced that he was clueless. Everything you said went over his head, no matter what you did he never picked up on your flirting. However, a few of the other Avengers did and they wouldn’t let it go. Tony was the first to notice, then Wanda and then Natasha, who had to tell Clint. You were hoping that was as far as it would go. You knew that if Bucky found out, he would be the one to blow it.

But, of course, Tony was always throwing discreet jokes at you about your feelings for Steve, Wanda was always trying to help you build up the courage to tell Steve and Natasha was always wanting to set you two up on a date.

It was currently early in the afternoon and you had work off so you decided to pop in at the Avengers tower to see how everyone was doing. Sometimes they weren’t there, but you always helped yourself to whatever was in the fridge or in the pantry.

As you stepped out of the elevator into the entrance to the top three floors you heard FRIDAY’s voice over the intercom, “Hello Miss Y/L/N. It’s nice to see you again.”

You continued walking down the hallway towards the lounge and responded, “Hey FRIDAY, is anybody home today?”

“Captain Rogers, Stark, Banner, Maximoff and Barton are currently on a mission and Thor has returned to Asgard. Only Romanoff is in today.”

Once you entered the lounge, you looked around for Natasha, but found that no one was there. Deciding on whether you wanted to go find Natasha or find some food, you decided that food had its precedence. But, upon opening the fridge, you found it to be empty to your disappointment.

Turning around, you saw a coffee pot sitting on the counter so you decided that coffee was the next best thing next to food. You reached up into the cupboard to grab a mug and without looking you just happened to grab the Captain America mug. Last year, Tony thought it would be funny to get everyone their own Avengers mug.

Without wanting to grab another you poured the rest of the coffee into your mug, which was still warm so that had to mean someone was there just a little bit ago. You proceeded to put a teaspoon of sugar into the mug and stirred it, picking it up to go sit at the table.

You took a small sip of the hot drink and instinctively looked around. When your eyes reached the left you almost spit and choked on your coffee and quickly put the mug down on the table so you didn’t spill any.

“Jesus Christ, Nat! You scared me half to death.”

The only response you got was a raised eyebrow and her pointing at the mug you were drinking out of. Her facial expression bluntly said, “Really?”

“Shut up, it was the first mug I grabbed, I swear.”

“I’m not judging you. It’s just funny.” She said in defense, walking over to the kitchen to fill up the empty mug she was carrying with coffee.

“So, weren’t invited to the mission? Too much power on the team?” You joked, taking another sip of your coffee.

“Ha ha, very funny. But, no. I’m technically on break, or vacation. I have a few days off from missions but I don’t really have any other place to go, so I’m just hanging here until I’m needed.” Natasha turned back around to face you.

“Well now you got someone to keep you company.”

Natasha took a few steps closer to you, testing the waters, and said, “Speaking of company… When are you going to tell Steve?”

You shook your head at her, “Nat…”

Natasha moved to sit in the chair across from you, “C’mon, hear me out. It could be something great for you. And Steve.”

“It’s nice to know that you want me to be happy but, it’s not logical. He’s Steve Rogers; and I’m just Y/N Y/L/N.” You looked down at the your coffee, almost trying to hide what you were feeling.

Natasha tapped you on the shoulder and responded, “You’re more than just Y/N Y/LN. You’re Steve’s best girl. Or at least, that what he calls you when you aren’t around.”

You didn’t believe what she said. There’s no way Steve would call you that, or would he? “Can we just leave it be Nat? If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. I don’t want to force it and then lose the friendship I already have with Steve.”

“But you want it to happen, Y/N. You never know, he might feel the same way.” She raised an eyebrow suggestively.

You immediately went into panic mode when she said that, “You didn’t talk to him did you!?”

“No, no, no. That’s not what I meant. I just mean that you never know what will happen. It could be the best thing to ever happen in your life.”

You cut her off and said, “But what if it ends up not being the best thing. What if I tell him and he doesn’t feel the same. He wouldn’t look at me the same anymore, he probably wouldn’t even want to be friends.”

“I’ve known Steve for a long time. There’s no way he would just ignore you if he didn’t feel the same.”

“I don’t know Nat. I’ll think about it.”

It had been a week since your conversation with Natasha, and you were doing everything in your power to forget that you had mentioned to her that you would think about it. You saying that had given Natasha hope that she was slowly convincing you to tell Steve about your crush. But, she hadn’t mentioned anything to you about it in a few days, which you thought was odd. Or maybe she finally figured she should drop it and did.

Anyways, it was 8 A.M. and you had just gotten out of bed after a night a movie night with the Avengers. You had stayed the night in one of the extra rooms at the tower so you didn’t have to bother driving home late at night. And Steve insisted that you stay.

You sluggishly headed to the lounge to get your much needed cup of coffee still in your pj pants and a t-shirt with your bedhead not touched. You rubbed your eyes, trying to get used to the light shining into the tower. Tony really needed to invest in some curtains.

“Mornin’ Y/N!” You heard a cheery voice from the couch

You groaned, headed for the coffee pot, “Out of all the people here, you seem like you would be the one to not be a morning person.”

You grabbed a mug out of the cupboard, which was not the Captain America one this time, but it was just a plain white mug which you were grateful for. You poured some of the half empty coffee pot into your cup and added a teaspoon of sugar, per usual. But when you took a sip you almost gagged on the coffee.

“Oh my god. Who made the coffee this morning? It tastes like I just swallowed burnt coffee beans.” You looked at Clint for an answer.

“It was Bucky. Did you know that out of the 99 years he’s been alive, he’s never made coffee?”

You ignored his question, figuring it was rhetorical and set your cup of burnt coffee back on the counter and asked, “I think I’m going to run up to Starbucks. Want anything?”

Clint looked at you seriously and said, “Caramel Macchiato, Venti, Quad, Skim, Sugar-Free, Extra Shot, Extra-Hot, Extra-Whip.”

You raised an eyebrow at him asking if he was serious and he just stared at you back, “More like extra-high maintenance; and on that note, nevermind.”

You picked your cup of coffee back up again and decided to add more sugar to try and mask the burnt taste and walked over to exit the lounge, despite Clint’s protests about his Starbucks order. You decided you would try to go find the rest of the team, which you figured the gym and training room would be your best bet.

As you tried to swallow down some of the coffee you walked down multiple hallways until you found the room you were looking for. You strolled in with not a care in the world until you froze when you heard a loud, “Watch out!”

You’re eyes immediately widened as you saw Steve’s shield flying at an insanely fast speed towards you. Luckily, you were able to duck in time and you fell to the floor from the impact you flung yourself away from the shield. You managed to also drop your cup of coffee onto the floor, the mug shattering on impact. The shield flew above you and imbedded itself into the wall behind you.

“Shit, Y/N are you okay?” You heard Steve’s voice heading towards you and before you knew it, he was standing above you holding his hand out for you to grab, which you took graciously.

“Yeah… That’s one way to jolt yourself awake in the morning.” You muttered to yourself.

Once you were up, you noticed that Bucky was also standing behind Steve, looking concerned, “I’m so sorry, Y/N, Steve and I were training with the shield and it ricocheted off my arm and-”

“Bucky, I’m fine, it’s alright. I didn’t get hurt so we’re all good. You’re lucky I have fast reflexes.” You tried to lighten the mood considering the outcome that could’ve happened if you hadn’t gotten out of the way in time.

“What’s all the commotion in here?” You heard a voice from entrance, Tony.

Oh Shit. Tony was going to be pissed when he saw the damage the shield had done to the wall and the coffee that was currently staining the ground.

Once Tony walked all the way into the gym, he took one look at the smashed coffee mug on the floor, one look at the wall where Steve’s shield poked out of and then one look back at the three of you, “Seriously guys? You do realize that I just installed new flooring in here and now there’s a giant hole in the wall!”

You raised your hands defensively, “Wasn’t my fault.”

Both Steve and you looked back at Bucky, “Seriously guys? You’re just going to throw me under the bus? If you want someone to blame, Steve technically threw the shield in the first place.”

You chuckled at his response, knowing that all three of you were going to get in trouble.

Back in your room, well, the guest room, you were typing away on your laptop making a spreadsheet for you work. Your stomach growled, interrupting you and you glanced over at the clock. It was almost 6pm and you realized you didn’t have anything for lunch other than an apple you ate after the incident in the training room this morning.

You were interrupted again, but this time you heard a knock on the door and you yelled, “Come in!”, still typing away.

The door opened and you looked up to see Natasha walking in with a hanger but the clothes it was holding were covered by a sheet. In her other hand, she was carrying a pair of short black heels. You furrowed your brows and pointing to the shoes and hanger asking, “What’s that?”

She just smiled smugly at you and threw them onto your bed and said, “For you.”

You stood up from your workspace and walked over to your bed and lifted up the sheet covering whatever was hanging on the hanger. It was a simple knee-length red dress, “Nat, why do I need this?”

“You’re going on a date.”

“Uh, what?”

“Go get dressed. Go brush your hair. Make yourself look… presentable.” She told you, referring to the fact that you were wearing sweatpants and a tank top.

“You aren’t giving me any context here. Who am I going out with? Where are we going? Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” You bombarded her with questions.

“It’s a blind date. You aren’t supposed to know who it is, now go get dressed.” Natasha shoved the dress into your hands and practically pushed you into the bathroom and shut the door behind you.

You were completely in the dark. You had no idea what was going on. You were just minding your own business, working and then Natasha had to come in and tell you, you were going on a date; completely out of the blue. Your heart rate went up just thinking about it. You swore that if she was trying to set you up with Steve or another agent she knew, you’d kill her.

After a moment of trying to get your bearings together you looked down at the dress in your hands and then to your reflection in the mirror. Your hair was a complete mess, wrapped up in a messy bun and you still had a tired look in your eyes. Sighing, you walked over to the sink and turned on the cold water, splashing it on your face, hoping it would wake you up more.

It worked slightly, as now you were taking off your clothes and sliding into the dress Nat gave you. You looked back in the mirror and was actually surprised on how good you looked. The dress was a solid red, velvety texture with a square neckline with short sleeves and cut-outs on your shoulders. The dress was snug but not tight, it hugged your body perfectly and ended right before your knees. You wondered where Natasha had gotten the dress.

You quickly took your hair out of the bun and brushed it, not knowing exactly what to do with your hair. Considering the dress, your date had to be somewhat fancy.

You exited the bathroom and was about to ask Natasha about what you should do with your hair but was stopped short when you saw Wanda sitting on your bed next to her, “You’re in on this too?”

“Yes, I may have had a part in this but, might I add that you look amazing in that dress!” Wanda replied.

“Yeah, thanks,” You replied to Wanda and then turned to Nat, “Where’d you even get this dress and how did you know it would fit me?”

She shrugged her shoulders, “I have friends.” Was all she responded with.

Your conversation was cut short when Wanda said, “It’s almost 6:30, c’mon put your shoes one. You don’t want to be late!”

“Wait, you guys haven’t exactly told me where I am going?” You asked again, sliding on the two inch heeled shoes.

“Go downstairs, to the lobby, he’ll be waiting for you by the entrance to the tower.”

You were hesitant to ask, “Who exactly am I looking for?”

“You’ll see.” Wanda replied as her and Nat pushed you out of the room.

You started walking to the elevators to go down to the lobby. You were still trying to wrap your head around what was happening, you could just go hide somewhere and not show up for the blind date. But Natasha and Wanda would probably get mad at you for not going. You knew for sure that you were going to kick their asses when you found out who you were going out with. You prayed that it wasn’t Steve, they would’ve told you right?

You were lost in your thoughts and before you knew it you were down in the lobby, not really looking where you were going. You were quickly jolted out of your thoughts when you ran into something hard, or somebody.

Immediately starting to apologize, you rambled, “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! I wasn’t-”

When you looked up to see who you ran into, you immediately stopped talking when you saw who was standing in front of you, flowers in his hands.

Author’s Note: This might be sad. But I’m also really tired so it might not be that great. So, yeah. Enjoy! :)))

(I was gonna post this last night but I was in a good mood cause Spider-Man Homecoming and didn’t feel like posting something sad)

Read Part One

“(Y/n)? What are you-”

“I could ask the same thing,” you smirked while crossing your arms. Clint watched as the two of you made googly eyes at each other, and decided to go back up to the main floor with the rest of the team; who seemed to be having some sort of an argument.

“Well, I’m glad you two know each other and all but it seems like there’s a fight going on up there so,” Clint said, quickly grabbing his bow and running up the stairs to the rest of the group. “Stay here!”

Pietro shrugged and went to speed upstairs to join in the fight but you stuck your foot in his path, making him trip and fall.

“What are you doing?” He growled as he hit the floor.

“Sorry, Pietro, but I’m not on your side this time-”

“Since when do you work with them?” Pietro asked, once again pushing himself off of the floor.

“Ever since I passed out in Sokovia and Tony and the rest of them kept me safe… and alive might I add. I kinda owe them for that,” you explained. Just as Pietro was about to make a comeback, the lights flickered before blowing out in one giant boom. The two of you looked at each other in confusion and in a split second, Thor brought all of the electricity in the tower onto the “package”, making it look like a thousand lightning bolts stormed inside the building.

It took a few hours to get used to having a floating robot in the vicinity, but it’s not like you could have a say in what happened. Vision was brought to life (thanks to Thor and his hammer) from all the electricity- or so you were told. It was all too confusing, considering you were given a basic education and didn’t really know or care that much about science.

You agreed to help the Avengers save your old home, and most of the team started to trust you. You offered to help in any way, the main goal was to save the city and everyone who lived there. Laying down your life was an option, one that you weren’t completely comfortable with. But, at the end of the day, it wouldn’t matter. Saving the world comes at a price, and it was one you were willing to pay.

Natasha let you borrow one of her old suits, and surprisingly, it fit. Tony and Bruce created a device that let you stabilize your energy after using your powers for too long. Basically, whenever you were drained, the device would use everything in its power to keep you awake and healthy. “If you were to use your powers without the device, you could die depending on the amount of energy you were using,” Bruce explained. Pietro and Wanda were off preparing for the fight, and you waited for the rest of the team in the helicarrier.

“How you doin’, kiddo?” Steve asked, sitting down next to you.

“Well, the world is sorta fallin’ apart, and we are the world’s last hope so… I’m doing grreeeaat!” You said in the tone of the Tiger from the Frosted Flakes commercial, bringing your thumb up and giving a cheesy smile. He laughed and you rested your head on the palm of your hands, rubbing the embarrassment off of your rosy cheeks. “I’m sorry that was really lame, but I’m fine.”

“It’s okay, sarcasm seems to lighten the mood.”

“I’m full of sarcasm so I think I’ll fit in here just nicely,” you smiled and got up from the chair, making your way to Pietro, who was at the front of the helicarrier. “Plus, I know how to watch my language.”

Steve sighed, his broad shoulders sinking to the ground, “Damn.”

“Steve,” you smirked, giving him finger guns before giggling and turning to where Pietro had sat.

Pietro was stretching and gearing  up for the fight, not grabbing any weapons because speed was his protection from this crazy world. You walked up to him and immediately wrapped your arms around him, hugging the man you cared for and taking in the fresh scent of  cologne.

“Hey, Draga,” Pietro hummed, softly caressing your back in a comforting manner.

“Pietro, I’m scared,” you confessed, pulling away and looking into his azure blue eyes that captured your soul. “What if we don’t make it out of this?”

His hand reached up to your worried face and wiped the tear that was crawling down your cheek. “Don’t think like that. We’ve made it through some horrible things. This is just a little bump, we can do it,” he encouraged, pressing a small kiss to your hand.

“I love you.”

“I love you too, Printesa.”

You smiled, enjoying these last peaceful moments with Pietro, before Wanda ruined the moment and entered the area with a loud, “YUCK! Can’t you two get a room?”

You gave a confused look, “What’s a room?”

The three of you laughed, giving the atmosphere a more positive vibe… not knowing what lies on the road ahead.

After the fight started, Pietro carried you to the middle of the city, where Clint was protecting civilians and helping people get onto the “boats”. The three of you battled robots heroically, taking them out one by one and saving as many individuals as possible. One of the robots had sprained your wrists, which concerned Clint and Pietro. You assured them you were alright; after all, it seemed like no damage had affected the device that kept your powers stable. Mini Ultrons came flying left and right, but you bravely mustered up all your strength and defeated every single one that came your way. Just as you were helping a family get onto one of the boats, Clint had been running towards you with a small boy in his arms. He stopped in his path when the sound of a thousand gunshots fired from the sky, a robot controlling one of the air crafts and firing down below. The bullets came flying his way, and you and Pietro shared a look when the Ultron started firing in Clint’s direction. You knew Clint would sacrifice himself to save the boy, that was his job as an Avenger. Pietro mouthed “I love you” and looked back at Clint, speeding over and placing a car in front of the two of them. It was almost as if everything went in slow motion. In fear of losing the one you cared about most, you mustered up all your strength and created a huge force field, covering Pietro, Clint, and the little boy. The radiating purple shield had appeared almost spontaneously, and you didn’t think it would work… but it did. You saved them. Pietro looked towards you, bearing that beautiful smile. But that tremulous expression soon faded once your knees gave out, and you fell to the floor. Your vision started to blur, your body felt weak and tingly; everything was fading. Blood started to drip rapidly from your nose and you glanced towards the device on your arm, which had been severely damaged. It felt like your insides had collapsed and the energy from your body had just escaped into the world. Pietro sped over to you and placed your head in his lap, trying to give a soft smile again to cover up the tears that started to form in his eyes.

“Are they okay?” you asked, the words barely coming out of your mouth.

“Cli-Clint, and the little boy. Are they okay?” Your eyes were struggling to stay open, it was starting to get harder and harder to breathe.

“Yes, they are safe.” The tears dropped from his face and landed on your pale cheeks. Your lips curled, at least there was some good news. “Why couldn’t you have just let me save them? Always have to one-up me, don’t you?” He chuckled, and you forced out a giggle before coughing up blood.

“What? You didn’t see that coming?” He smirked at your sarcastic reference, softly rubbing your cheek with his thumb. You sighed, “I would sacrifice the world for you, Pietro.”

And then, your heart stopped. Your eyes stared blankly at the sky above, and Pietro rested his head into the nook between your shoulders. He silently sobbed into your lifeless body until he felt a hand gently rub his shoulder.

“Pietro… we have to go,” Clint spoke, his face filled with sorry for the man who had just lost the love of his life right before his eyes.

“I-I can’t leave her,” he lamented, shaking his head.

“I can’t.”
